These wonderful group of talented musicians and vocal instructors are phenomenal. I purposely sought out a voice teacher for my daughter that was nowhere near her high school, as so many that were, were part of the problem buddy-buddy with the corrupt leadership of her show choir. The director, who has thankfully recently allegedly been dismissed from the school was abusive toward my daughter and berated her about her singing and value, contradicting the extreme praise he heaped on her just a couple months prior. This experience was torture and extremely traumatic to her confidence and self-worth, and she nearly left the program she was so passionate about. The team at The Inside Voice were positive, professional and highly skilled, and immediately upon reviewing her abilities and performance reassured her that his criticism was completely unjustified and false. They commended her on her courage to seek professional guidance after being treated so inhumanely and reassured her that she had a beautiful voice with great range. They worked with her on songs for auditions, songs she enjoyed and all kinds of techniques to improve her ability. My children have been with Molly's Music for over 2 years. My 10 year old daughter takes vocal lessons with Molly and my 12 year old son piano - also with Molly. I can't say enough about this music school and their teachers. Over the 2 years, my daughter has had the pleasure of working with several different instructors in addition to molly - for vocals, acoustic guitar and was even part of the singing group for a bit. All of the instructors are wonderful and the school has several locations and a variety of teachers to teach whatever instrument your child is interested in (vocals, guitar, piano, ukulele...). Beyond the teaching, the school is a wonderful place for kids to find their "musical voice" in a safe, supportive environment. Molly music hosts several recitals throughout the year - giving students and opportunity to perform and showcase their hard work. While this may be nerve wracking for kids, I really believe the performances / recitals give them a chance to set goals and work towards them. So I love the recitals and how frequent they host them. Lastly, I just wanted to note - we have tried several other music/ vocal schools in the Orange County area - including some where it was clear they didn't have a clue about building an actual foundation in music and vocal technique and were all about the hype and taking your money. In fact this other school didn't even have teachers capable or willing to actually accompany the singers on the piano - literally opting for "karaoke tracks" they could find on YouTube! Ridiculous. Molly's music is exceptional and whatever musical goals your child has, Molly's music will have something to offer him or her. The only voice coach I've ever worked with was Molly Webb. I had so much fun with her and learned a great deal about preparing my voice for longer performances. At the time, I was preparing for a concert to promote my debut album. It was the longest solo set I'd ever managed and was only able to get through it because of her help. I was wary of having a singing lesson at first, but I am SO thankful that I made the choice to come to Molly's Music for a lesson with Michael! So, I am a full grown adult without the natural gift some people have with singing and I avoid singing loud enough for people (including myself) to hear me. I had always been like "oh woe is me, I love singing so much but I sound so terrible and people will laugh at me." And aren't I too old to be doing anything about it now? But I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and take advantage of a trial lesson with Michael. When I started my lesson I let him know that I was seriously considering forfeiting my money and leaving because I was so nervous. He understood, so to begin with he just rocked out with me and we sang the song together a couple times. He had fun with it, and that helped me to calm down a lot. The goofiness that he brought in was very disarming and made me feel so much more comfortable. It was clear that this was a safe, judgement-free zone. He gave me some exercises that were helpful to my song choice, and after just one lesson I am feeling better. It's not so much that my voice has made a 180 overnight, but that I'm no longer afraid of hearing my own voice singing loudly, and if I'm off key (which is often...for now) I don't beat myself up about it and just try those exercises again. I always thought stuff like this was only helpful for kids and that as an adult I was beyond hope, but I was happily proved wrong. I truly hope to begin regular lessons soon! read more

My daughter has been with Molly since 2008, starting with private singing and piano lessons. Since then, Molly's group OC GLEE was formed. My daughter has LOVED the group. She sees all the students as a second family and loves the venues she and the rest of the group sings at! Molly is about giving back and her group has sang at places such as women's rehabilitation homes, retirement homes and schools for blind children. Molly is an AMAZING teacher! She is quiet and sweet, but hones in on each student's ability and gifts! She is encouraging and respectful of the students... and her students absolutely adore her, my daughter included! We have been so happy with Molly! Even through tough financial times, we have made a commitment to continue lessons as we (my husband and I) know they are completely beneficial and has helped our daughter to gain confidence (she's a quiet introvert) and encouragement in her love to sing! I started taking lessons with Molly a few years ago when a friend asked me to sing her her wedding. It had been a few years since I had sang publicly and was really looking for the perfect teacher. Molly was the Perfect teacher. She prepared me so well to sing in front of all these people and we even became friends. I continued taking lessons with her afterwards because I enjoyed it so much! Two years ago, I searched the internet to find a good vocal coach for my granddaughter, Kayla, who was 15 years old. Molly's website intrigued me with all of the options available for taking lessons. Our first session was with one of the instructors teaching from their Orange studio. I picked this location because it was closer to home. After that lesson, I contacted Molly to ask if we could have a session with her so she would be able to determine who would be the best coach for Kayla. I felt Kayla would benefit from a coach with more experience. After spending an hour with Molly in her Costa Mesa studio, I was very surprised and pleased when Molly said that she would like to work with Kayla personally.....even though her schedule was already very busy, she would make the time. I really appreciated Molly's flexibility to take Kayla on as a student! Kayla had several sessions with Molly over that summer. During that time, Molly helped Kayla explore her vocal range with very useful exercises. She and Kayla worked on song interpretation and style. Molly always encouraged Kayla to test her voice and try something new. Working with a coach was a new experience for Kayla. She just beamed when she knew we were on our way to the studio. It was such a wonderful learning opportunity for her and she thoroughly enjoyed working with Molly. Unfortunately, Kayla was only able to work with Molly during the summer because her home is in Henderson, Nevada. Just before her visit to California ended, Kayla was able to participate in one of Molly's recital that gave her an opportunity to perform to a large audience. Even though Kayla would no longer be Molly's student, Molly asked me to keep her updated on Kayla's progress.....she encouraged Kayla to keep singing! Just recently I shared with Molly some demo recordings that Kayla had made and Molly was thrilled with Kayla's growth. It is clear that Molly has a genuine interest in Kayla as a former student by the way she is always so encouraging and supportive...even if via Email. Kayla has expressed an interest in learning music theory, and learning how to play the piano and write songs to become a musician and a better performer. All of these classes are offered at Molly's Music as a one stop shop. If the opportunity arises for Kayla to work with Molly and her team again in any of these areas, we will waste no time in getting her signed up. Molly is an outstanding teacher! It's as simple as that. She gets it. She doesn't force strict and limiting vocal methods on you the way a lot of vocal teachers do. She asks you what you like to sing, what genre you want to perform in, and coaches you accordingly! That's the way to do it! There is no absolute one way to sing.
