Gluten free focaccia bread, fried eggs with pesto and bell peppers, gluten free orange pastry.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn Berlin for my birthday and it was such a great experience. Everyone was so friendly, the decor was lovely and the meals were beyond expectations! It's truly a rarity to know you don't have to worry about finding breakfast when you have celiac disease. The attached gluten free bakery meant we brought home a bunch of delicious treats too. It was a quick walk to Main Street where there was a weekend street fair with live music so we got to explore the town a bit. We were drawn in by the gluten free food and proximity to Assateague National Seashore but I would definitely put the Inn Berlin on my list to stay at again!

Absolutely adore the Inn Berlin, any and all season they're open. We went right when the area (Bethany, Rehoboth, Ocean City, etc.) became off-season, which I prefer, when things are a bit quieter and not so touristy. Definitely check out Main Street--it's a walkable distance and I loved strolling and checking out all the stores and local library. You can tell everyone is incredibly neighborly there. I had seen the Inn Berlin pop up on Instagram, but once I learned it was a gluten free establishment and Maya (the innkeeper) opened the boulangerie, I knew I had to check it out. The boulangerie is open for pre-orders every week so even if you don't stay at the inn, you can grab something! I ordered a few items and Maya accommodated to hold everything until my check out time, even adding in a few treats. So moved by her generosity! Breakfast was basically a three course meal (greek yogurt with fruit, frittata with bacon and veggies, brioche jam pastries) and it was so good and perfectly seasoned. Nothing was too sweet or too salty. You don't even have to be gluten free to enjoy the food. Maya did a really great job renovating the inn but holding onto the historic foundations of the house. As an art historian, I loved learning about the inn on the website--definitely check it out! There are a good number of photos that show how the house has transformed through the years. If you go to the library, literally right next door to the inn, they have a whole section on local history. Everything was quiet and clean, all the guests were respectful of quiet hours. Maya emails a questionnaire and guest manual with things to do/places to eat so that you can have an accommodating experience if you need/want to. I left feeling super well fed and rested!

The Sunday Farmer's Market is a MUST if you are going to Berlin!

My husband and I stayed here over Labor Day weekend.. I have been wanting to stay since it opened.. and when our Ocean City plans fell through, my husband booked at the Inn. Maya took great care of us, from the artisan breakfast AND picnic lunch for the beach, to all of the lovely treats - coffee, and GF snackies, and beautiful room. The town of Berlin is cute and quaint. The Farmer's Market on Sunday is a must.. and 10 minutes from the beach! I cannot wait to return!

I drove down to The Inn from NYC for a safe and solo recharge after finding The Inn on a mindless instagram scroll. I have been living with celiac disease for 17 years This experience was like nothing else I have ever had. During my 48 hour stay, I felt like I was living in a dream! From the deliciously thoughtful breakfast, to the carefully curated packed lunch, to the safe in-room snack selection - I was blown away by the hospitality I was shown! Maya, innkeeper/owner/chef, is simply AMAZING! Not only does she WOW you at The Inn, Maya was prepared with recommendations for local eateries and adventures. I even got to walk into town for the Sunday farmers market. I can not recommend The Inn enough for a solo recharge. If you're thinking about it, the answer is YES! I am already planning my return trip. Thank you Maya and to all of your family that has supported you in this endeavor. I can't thank you enough for this special place!

I have celiac disease, which makes traveling on vacation not much of a vacation as it involves lots of planning and anxiety in sorting out what I will be eating on the trip. This was not the case for our trip to Berlin, MD thanks to The Inn Berlin as it is completely gluten free!! The accommodations and food were absolutely amazing, and even more amazing, is that my husband (a non-Celiac) enjoyed it just as much! In addition to our stay (which includes breakfast), my husband worked with Maya, the owner, to set up a menu for private dining the three nights that we were there, including a birthday dinner for me. In addition, my husband added on the packed lunches package for our two full days there so we could have lunch on our day trips sightseeing. I didn't have to pack a cooler of food to eat (like I normally do on trips) and I didn't have to do research on safe places to eat (and deal with the anxiety that maybe they weren't so safe). It was truly a Celiac's paradise! But even more so, the hospitality and food were just spectacular. Our first night for dinner, my birthday dinner, we started off with a salad with delicious greens from a local farm followed by Surf-n-Turf. My husband and I agreed it was the best steak we have ever had, perfectly cooked! And the lobster was delicious. We finished off dinner with a delightful ginger snap cheesecake. Our second night, we had Spanish Tapas. My husband, who studied abroad in Spain, was especially excited for the Tortilla de Patatas, and it did not disappoint. I especially like the dates filled with goat cheese and wrapped in bacon, so, so good! Our last night, we had Italian. We started off with an appetizer of cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto, a refreshing and tasty starter, followed by a delicious salad and pasta, half bolognese and half fettuccine alfredo. Then for the encore, a scrumptious tiramisu. Honestly better than the tiramisu we had in Italy; it was so good! Our breakfasts and packed lunches were just as amazing. I had the continental breakfast while my husband did Chef's choice. All of it was so good! I also really appreciated the packed lunches because we could go off and do anything, and I didn't have to worry about food, or put in effort to put something together. We could just go do what we wanted and have fun! The location of The Inn Berlin is also great! Easy drive to Assateague and Ocean City. Walking distance to downtown Berlin. Maya was super helpful in giving us ideas of things to do. We had a blast exploring the local sites. However, truly, the highlight of our trip was eating all the yummy food. Maya was so kind to us and truly took care of everything we asked for, making our trip so relaxing and enjoyable. We are already trying to figure out when we can come back as I think this place is going to become a semi-annual trip for us.

We started with the cheese board and the crab dip. ( more bread or crackers for the crab and cheese board would have been nice) We moved on to the cheese fondue with one skewer of protein per person. 2 chicken and two scallops. My son found the chicken cooked enough, I found it a tad undercooked. The cheese fondue was very good, but I think it was "split" giving it a slightly lumpy texture. There were plenty of potatoes and veggies for four on the platter. We HAD to have dessert, but as stuffed as we were , we ordered for 2. There was more than enough for 4. The melted chocolate was divine!!! We all loved it and will be back again. It was a wonderful evening.

It was not clear on the website when making reservations that the menus posted were not for the igloos. Even items we asked about on the menus provided were not available (menu said available until 3 pm in igloo, it was 200 but still told no- yet we also couldn't get the steak or rockfish in the igloo. As well, previous igloo visit options provided fondue for 2 (not 5!) and could be altered for one meat and one seafood eater however this time we would've had to at $240 to get both. At minimum $120+$10-$12 extra to add one skewer. Although the ambiance is an "experience" it was not a satisfying culinary experience. As well, it was not clear we couldn't divide our checks up amongst each couple as most all restaurants can do. (Can only do 2 checks, we had 3 couples) It was more cumbersome on the waitress and us than just charging each couple one bill, we weren't sharing food or said put half this on each etc. it was clearly just 3 couples. As for what we did get... if crab dip hadn't had a shell in it I wouldn't have believed it had any crab in it, just cheese flavor. Steak skewer was well done (no choice given) yet veggies were aldente (to say the least). Wine was good but limited selection. I really don't understand why I can eat one think inside yet can't 20' away we would've had a much better experience if some accommodating had been offered on any of the above issues.

The bar staff were nice and engaging. Food: chicken breast (I guess?) with sauce, mixed veggies, red cut potatoes, pasta with a sauce. The chicken was tough and tasteless. The veggies and potatoes were bland. The best thing was the pasta. They ran out of food, so some people did not eat. For the price they charged per plate it wasn't worth it. Complimentary coffee, ice tea and water were also available. Tables were also available for customers to sit, drink and eat. Eventually they arranged some very nice hand held hors d'oeuvre appetisers and desserts in the bar area. We did not win the raffle. After the raffle we left to return home. Just days before we arrived, Chef Kim Acton was awarded best chef of Worcester County by Coastal Style magazine. So now we were really pumped. If you've never been, the venue is small and reservations are highly recommended. We definitely have our favorite foodie spots for top shelf dining in and around the OC area, but after dining here, I have to say this location has easily shot to number one. The staff is cheerful and very accommodating. The mixologist(too creative to be called a bartender) was crafting some amazing drinks for us. Then came the food. From the burrata salad to the garlic shrimp, to the crab dip, which will make any other crab dip you've ever tasted seem paltry, the flavor combinations, and the quality of the ingredients all were carefully orchestrated. For our mains, we had the fillet with the lobster and grilled shrimp, the rack of lamb, the gigantic seared scallops which were perfection, and the Faroe Island salmon. We don't consider ourselves food snobs, however, we do have a high bar, and we have had the opportunity to eat at some of the best restaurants in the country, including the French Laundry in Napa. I would easily put this restaurant at the same level as some of those establishments, we were that impressed. There are chefs that are creative in putting together an interesting menu, and then there are chefs such as Kim that just takes things to another level. Our desserts were on the same par as everything else that we had selected that evening. As we drove home, we were all raving about our individual dishes, and already looking forward to when we could return. Nicely done Chef Kim! BEWARE racism, bigotry, homophobia, awkward, traumatic moments ahead if you book with Jan and Jim…read more My partner and I stayed here last Summer and made the mistake to think this would be a friendly b&b (we had known very few were we actually ever feel truly welcome) but thought to give it a chance during my sister's birthday weekend. Upon checking in, Jan eyed us up and down and did not know what to make of two feminine women who didn't seem to just be friends, let alone an inter-racial couple (she would later tell us how open she was and even wanted to someday buy a purple Polka dotted bus and park it outside her church just to show how "accepting" she was...yes, like you, we do not know what that means either). Please keep in mind, that the entire time we spent on this porch with her she refused to make eye contact with my partner, who is a woman of color (she would continue to lean on her racist, gross belief that the white woman in the relationship must be the one paying for everything). Fast forward to the morning, where we would get knocks on our door for breakfast, jolted out of bed by her telling us we must get up. We were worried what would occur if we didn't join the other guests for her breakfast. We joined everyone in the dining room, where Jan stood over each guest and would ask if you didn't finish your plate "if you did not like it? No appetite?" Awkward to say the least especially when this was not a relative who you had to politely deal with. During the breakfast, we would hear off conversations from Jan's sermon (yes you read that right) of wanting to be like the English, her pride of Daughters of the Revolution and how she wished her family had come over on the Mayflower to even talks of how amazing the 13 colonies were and how pure New England blood lines are and her love of being a devote White Anglo Saxon Christian. Meanwhile her husband, Jim stood behind her looking rather afraid and traumatized (victim we presume and he isn't allowed to leave the kitchen). She even gave the group a question and answer of how each couple met but with no surprise, stopped at us, smiled weirdly and then went to the next couple. At the end of the weekend, we checked out as early as we could and never looked back again. Do yourself a favor, and check out other spots in Berlin; this one is just not worth it.
