We worked with Barefoot Beach Bride for a wedding in April 2021 and couldn't recommend them enough. From first contact through delivery of the wedding, their services were above and beyond. We reached out to Jodie and the team prior to the pandemic and selected the venue March 2020. It was an outdoors venue that she had never personally worked but meet our wishes (outdoors, # of guests, sunset, etc). She knows all the caterers and wedding services in the area and quickly helped us down-select. She was able to quickly put together our dream team. We meet with Barefoot Beach Bride several times between March 2020 and the wedding date (May 2021). Each time, it was clear that the team took into consideration the prior discussions and matured the plan. Barefoot Beach Bride meet with our dream team (food, tent, venue, etc) the week before at the venue to ensure that everyone was coordinated. On the wedding day, there wasn't much for us (the bride and groom) to worry about as the team handled all the behind the scene details. The team even packed everything up at the end of the reception was it was we didn't have to worry. Scam. I ended up cancelling with them due to lack of venue options, and no help in finding what I wanted. Website very miss-leading. All the planning and research was pushed back on me to do. I am out of state and thought that was what I was paying them for? I had a few emails and maybe 5 phone calls with them. Cancelled 6 months in advance and they would not even provide a partial refund. I think they make their money from keeping the "non-refundable" deposits, which have to be made up front, rather than actually providing service. Be cautious of what they can provide before putting money down. You will not get back no matter the circumstances. read more

Jodie at barefoot beach bride... She's a very nice person, however I felt I had one issue during my planning with her; communication. A few times I had emailed her and she claimed to not have gotten it (unsure, maybe, I don't know for sure), but most of all was the day of my wedding/week of my wedding. The photographer! On Jodie's bbwed site you can see that barefootbeachbride is contracted, of course, and then anyone else she contracts with for your big day. Mine was a photographer. On the bbwed page it stated "DIM Productions." When I looked up this company I was not at all impressed. Personally the website looks very "hood" to me and that's not who I am. When I spoke to Jodie on our phone rehearsal six days prior to our wedding day she said my photographer was going to be "Sarah." I thought, okay this sounds a little better maybe she changed companies, however Jodie didn't state those words, "changing". Let's skip to the big day. My on-scene photographer. I know this isn't her review page but let's just say I felt like it was her first day photographing an event. It didn't click during everything going on but her name is Michelle from Beebe Photography. I had NO idea of this person/company until friends of ours saw her Facebook post on an Ocean City site with our photos in it. This person wasn't DIM, wasn't Sarah, it was someone who I feel I should have known what company was going to be taking our pictures beforehand. This is the communication fail I am most upset about. I feel it's very unprofessional to leave this trail for me to find without any reasoning behind it. Like, what happened to the first two? Why on Monday you said Sarah, but on Saturday I have Michelle? And might I add, I on 6/2/19 I saw a post on Barefoot's FB page and tagged is "Sarah Daniels Photography" who I believe is who I was supposed to have. If she's the one who I was supposed to have, she took amazing photos and I even noticed she edited people out in the background, they're more so a blur than just like BAM in the background. Michelle didn't do any of that. I could go on, but as I said, this isn't her review page. I ultimately can't say I wouldn't recommend Jodie for your planning because as far as the ceremony goes, she made a beautiful setting on the beach and it turned out amazing. It's just if you do hire her, stay on top of things and take notes. read more

I can honestly say that we NEVER had to worry about even one little thing because Jodie and her team took care of every little detail and anything that popped up! Their designs are beautiful, stunning and will make your special day very memorable! For our wedding we wanted to still have a cake tasting and wanted to meet with Jodie in person a few times to go over everything (that was easy for us to do because we LOVE any moment we get to travel to OC and we live in Silver Spring MD so OC is not that far from us). Jodie was so awesome and made the cake tasting and meetings with her happen any time that worked best for us! We were impressed since many of her clients do everything over the web because her beautiful packages are so easy to select for your big day, but it was super cool that Jodie worked with us to customize anything we wanted to. I cannot say enough about Jodie and her team! My husband and I were a Covid-19 couple that unfortunately got dropped by our former planner. We were put in touch with Jodie and from the minute we spoke on the phone I knew we were in amazing hands. She is incredibly responsive- she was even answering my calls and e-mails while on vacation! She goes above and beyond for her clients in every way. I spent many hours on the phone with Jodie navigating the crazy process of planning (and replanning!!) a wedding during a global pandemic. She was SO KIND and so helpful even when I thought things were hopeless. She saved our wedding and my sanity numerous times and the day our wedding (5/15/21) finally took place everything went off seamlessly and I was truly able to finally relax and enjoy being able to get married!! My daughter always dreamed of having a beach wedding. He fiance decided to enlist in the military and proposed after he finished basic training. If you're looking for a company to put your wedding together, I recommend BBB. Jodi took care of nearly all the details (we did had to take care of what we wore, our rings, where we stayed & chose to get our own cakes). Working with BBB was such a help & our wedding cake together beautifully!!!! I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 only because we found the wording on some documents (re: price) to be very confusing. If you're adding/ deleting guests, I would advise you to double check how this affects your budget because it's not worded very clearly. This could be improved. We had a very positive experience. Our ceremony was the Sunday of Labor Day weekend and it was storming all day Saturday from Hermine. Jodie kept good contact and was so flexible with offering to adjust the time so that we could be outdoors. The night before we called it quits because it looked like the storm wasn't letting up. Jodie called and ultimately had me make the decision and offered to take pictures on the beach later in the week. The morning of we woke up to a perfect sunrise with clear skies. Jodie let us move it back to the beach and all in time for a 9AM wedding. Our day was perfect and I honestly felt that Jodie really cared about our day. She did everything she could to keep us happy and she was one of the few people that through all of the stress I never felt frustrated with. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! :) read more

I can't begin to tell you how much Jodie and her staff means to my new husband and me. We were in a bad situation with another planner and ended cancelling 40 days before the wedding. I contacted Jodie and put all faith in her. Not only did we have the wedding of our dreams, but exceeded every expectation. With both of our families having disabled parents- she picked the perfect location, the ceremony was breathtaking and literally everything was planned down to the minutes. I do NOT recommend using Barefoot Bride as your wedding planner. My daughter was married in Ocean City MD in August of 2014. Thankfully we live nearby and were able to do most of the selections ourselves that they are "supposed" to provide. I agree with another post that they are very unprofessional. We had a meeting scheduled with Jodi, the owner, just prior to our food tasting at the venue that WE chose, not at the venue that she suggested, which she was aware of. We arrived on time at her office and had to wait for 45 minutes while she set up the details of another wedding because she "thought we were going to the food tasting first". She never wrote our appointment down. The florist the she suggested, Flowers by Allison, were horrible. The bridesmaids flowers clashed with the rest of the wedding colors. They weren't even close to being what we requested even though they were given pictures of what we wanted. The hair and makeup people that she suggested were horrible. Thank goodness we did a trial before the actual day so that I had time to find someone else. I highly recommend A Perfect Face. They did a fantastic job of our entire bridal shower (of course, I found this place myself). We chose Classic Cakes (our choice again, not a recommendation from Jodi). They gave us exactly what we designed and since then, is it a coincidence that Barefoot Bride's cake people are now offering the exact same design? The photographer Victoria was horrible. She took some pictures that were way too light and she took forever to take just a few shots. She didn't take any photos of the entire family and she was only at the wedding for about 40 minutes. Weeks went by without hearing from the photographer. When I called Jodi, instead of taking are of it, she gave me Victoria's phone number and told me to take care of it myself. Luckily my cousin took pictures at the wedding that were much better. We selected our own DJ because the name of the DJ that Jodi gave me never returned my call. Princess Royal did a great job with the venue and great food ( not to be confused with Princess Bayside, the venue that was recommended by Barefoot Bride). There also is no rehearsal before the wedding only an over the phone rehearsal, so unprofessional. They don't make the wedding day worry free. We paid Barefoot Bride to take care of all of the wedding planning but we ended up doing everything ourselves and paid them for it. I could go on and on but you get the picture. You don't get what you pay them for. Thank goodness that what we selected for the wedding made it a wonderful day. read more

Jodie was very nice and worked with me on this or that detail. I'd check in a lot. I did not hear much contact till we were 5 months out from wedding.We change the venue during planning process and she said she'd give aisle and arbor decor due to change. Only saw arbor but was beautiful. She told me that a staff will be with me the morning of to be with me to make sure things would be on time and I go the the ceremony site.... no one showed. She performed very well at our wedding :) I was 20 min late due to reasons my fault. They made sure no one walked behind the ceremony or was rudely interfereing which was awesome. The photographer did ok. Some of the photos could've been better set up. He did get some good shots. Jodie had 2 other weddings to do after ours and so she seems rushed and swung by our reception for a minute and congratulated us. Dj was awesome the 360 fenwick was amazing! Food was amazing .
