Bouche de Noel bit of heaven

Sad to see some of these reviews, I think people forget that this is a Wisconsin resort. They aren't a Michelin star restaurant in NYC. It's still fine dining, but with the warmth and accessibility of a restaurant and winery halfway between Milwaukee and Green Bay. We did the Christmas Eve prix fixe menu and it was lovely all around. Absolutely delicious dishes, incredible wine. The oyster amuse bouche was one of the tastiest little bits of food I've ever experienced. Staff was absolutely wonderful, waitress and sommelier both.

Service was phenomenal Definitely a romantic atmosphere and very clean.. had the steak was very tasty would have loved my dinner better ending in a house made carrot cake! Will definitely be back

I thought the dinner was really good. Ambiance: true to the Midwest, the wood on wood theme which gives a rustic log cabin feel, continues throughout the restaurant with a regal feeling. The Midwest isn't as flashy as New York of SF, so craftsmanship in woodworking, pride in top down décor, shone throughout the restaurant. The bar was quite noisy though, took away from the atmosphere; but you can't control people. We started off the with the soup, then scallops for our starters. My wife had the risotto and I had the wagyu ribeye. The risotto had great flavor, well cooked. The extra's on it may have been too plentiful; good but too many. The wagyu was extremely flavorful (salty just like you would like in a steak). The sauce also was intriguing and wonderful. I did however find some inconsistency of the cut, flavors on one side of the cut were amazing and the other side not so powerful. It was interesting. Lastly we had the cake for dessert with ice cream and espresso nibs. It was alright, though my wife who likes desserts more than I do, said it was good. Service: Wonderful, quick, attentive and through. We asked why the restaurant has yet had a Michelin star, alas; no one knows..... Final rating 4/5, I think this could be 1 Star Michelin.

The Big Hurt

Service was excellent. The amuse bouche was a tiny slice of crispy pork belly with a dollop of a mustard sauce - very tasty. Cocktails were very tasty although the Big Hurt had a whole bunch of tiny rock hard little seeds that were dangerous! Probably 20 of them. The drink needs to be strained first before serving. My husband had the beet salad which he enjoyed as well as the new york strip from the tasting menu. He thought it was a bit too rare for medium rare, I thought it was just right. It had a great wine sauce. The roasted winter vegetables were very hard and undercooked though. The lobster creme brûlée app was way too cold, for whatever reason we expected it to be much softer, maybe even a softer set custard but it was more like a pate. The caviar detracted from the lobster flavor and overall it was disappointing. The tarragon tuiles needed fat and salt. If the dish had been served at room temperature - and with no caviar - it would have been a lot better. The aleppo pepper roasted squash soup was totally amazing however with great squash flavor and well seasoned and the accoutrements of crispy tuile, creme fraiche and pomegranate seeds(?) complemented it perfectly. The supposedly seared sea bass was really quite bad. It came out at most at room temperature. There was absolutely no sear whatsoever on the fish. Looked like warmed milk color. Not a hint of browning. It had also been sliced crosswise through the piece as if they were checking to see if it was cooked. A big no no. The green rice was tasty as well as the tan sauce underneath that was flavored with sweet chili sauce. One big leaf of bok choy separated the sea bass from the rice. If it had not been my husband's birthday I would have sent it back but I did not want to ruin his evening. Bread service was tasty although we had to request regular butter as the cinnamon butter was not for us. French rolls and seeded nut bread were delicious. They were out of several of the by the glass whites we wanted but were accommodating looking for subs. They brought my husband a free dessert - a luxurious chocolate truffle bar we could not finish. Cardamom cookies and a piece of chocolate with cranberry and nuts for each round out the meal. Since it's 2021 I think this menu needs some revamping and updating. Also the food needs to come out a lot warmer from the kitchen.

What a nice restaurant!! I'm so glad that I was able to find and visit this gem. First the interior was very interesting to tell the background and history of this estate, and the tasting menu was really wonderful and I truly enjoyed every single dish that I had. Additionally, the choice of paring wine course was wonderful. I wanted to give more that 5 stars if I could. After visiting once, I immediately made a reservation for my next visit. I highly recommend this restaurant for those who are looking for a high quality dining experience in a unique setting.

Amazing seared fish

Great experience here! It is part of the American club, which at first thought you would think has some cookie-cutter golf club shadow hanging over it. That is far from the case. This restaurant really separates itself and stands out. Its an old school, table cloth fancy, blazer required, very quiet atmosphere. Tables were full but it was never that crowded on the Friday we visited. The service is paced pretty slow, but not waiting around slow, more like one step at a time (instead of "hey order everything now and we'll bring it out in order"). Meaning, this was a good thing, it made our experience pleasant. Service, in addition to the patient pace mentioned above, was perfect. Very warm, friendly, smiling wait staff. Each person on the crew was an expert at their task. This goes a far way in a meal, especially when it is this pricey and the atmosphere gets you in a certain zone. For drinks they had great cocktails, and actually some really decent craft beers that I took advantage of. The wine list is large, but we didn't do the pairing. There is fresh warm bread for you throughout the meal, and a few rounds of "try this small piece of X from the chef" Onto the food.. The bread was good stuff. It came with honey butter and two different salts to sprinkle on. I then got the King Crab appetizer. Amazing! Presentation to flavor. My main course was the seared tuna. Another amazing dish. Best tuna I've had in my life hands down. On the side I asked for a plate of gnocchi since it sounded nice on another dish - they brought out a fat portion of this, and oh man was it good. I was with my dad who had the ribeye and bisque soup. He is a huge steak eater, and said this was some of the best stuff hes ever had. The soup was forgettable he said. This is a must visit if you are in the area, bring some nice clothes and get classed up for the evening!

A good restaurant. Quality food, quality service and an enjoyable evening. I ordered the lobster bisque and it was wonderfully rich and balanced. My husband ordered the lamb and I ordered the veal, sharing a few bites. All savory and delicious, not my absolute favorite. Good for special occasions, and recognize the moment.

The Immigrant is a great location for private dining. The vegetarian menu is essentially the the normal menu with minimal modifications. While the dining experience was exquisite and elitist, the restaurant could better embrace the evolution of dietary preferences.

Did the tasting menu. Pacing was bad. Service was rushed; servers seemed in a rush to go home. Really disappointing given the price point

The Horse and Plow is a great spot if you have a group or family where noise is not a bug but a feature. We came here on our second evening around 7:00 for dinner. Food: The menu has a good selection of beverages and pub-style food. There is an extensive list of whiskeys, including bourbon and rye, lots of beers, and some specialty cocktails. We settled on a draft beer and the Plum Crazy cocktail, which was super yummy. For food, they offer appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, and a fish fry. There is even a Wagyu flat iron steak if you are interested in paying $75. We decided on the Double Butter Smashburger with truffle fries and the Walleye Fish Fry. The burger was good, although it could have been cooked a bit more to create more caramelized edges. The bun was good, but a bit too much bread for me, so I ate it open-faced. The truffle fries were delicious and could have been a meal in themselves. The walleye was battered and breaded with good texture, and the fish was flaky. I felt it was a bit overcooked, and the last several bites were very tough. Service: We did not have a reservation, and there were no tables available when we arrived. We took a spot at the bar, where the bartender got us an order of drinks. The service, both at the bar and at the table, was efficient but not especially friendly or outgoing. The food came out nice and hot, waters were kept full, and the check arrived promptly after the meal was finished. For those looking for a pub experience, this is a good spot. However, being at the American Club, I think I was looking for more of an elevated experience. This felt more like a place for a quick meal than somewhere I would feel compelled to return to. Atmosphere: It is a pub, and that is exactly what you get. It was very noisy at times, especially as larger groups were enjoying themselves.

She's been ranting and raving about the salads and pizzas (which are now no longer on the menu). Finally, we made it today after going to Flora Fields for Mother's Day weekend. We did the wine flight of dry red wines and they all were great. Really well selected. We ordered the duck flatbread and some fries for the kiddos. Unfortunately, the food was pretty awful. The flatbread had no flavor, or as if all the ingredients just meshed together in a blender and the crust was overcooked or cooked more than once? I was looking for any kind of flavor punch but it just fell flat (pun not intended). Maybe it was previously frozen as that would explain everything. But it was topped with some microgreens to look better than frozen. Can't really mess up fries, but I guess you can when you don't change the oil they're fried in after awhile. Felt like there was a fish fry on the fries minus the fish. The service and the atmosphere were all great. I would say if you go, go for the wine and atmosphere, not the food.
