This is an old school supper club and somewhere you need to visit if nearby! Great drinks with a great knowledgeable bartender. We ordered perch , haddock, loaded baked potatoes, soup and salad. This place has a great soup and salad bar you need to visit! The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was due to the gentleman in the kitchen with no hairnet and beard net, who had a large beard. All the waitresses were 10/10, always checking up on all of their tables. With the new owners of this place, I was surprised actually that he noise level went down, it was always loud here but this time that we visited it was a lot more enjoyable since we could hear each other talk . Can't say more than enough if the great food and rinks here, and can't wait to come back! read more

Supper clubs are ubiquitous to Wisconsin culture, particularly in the more rural areas of our state. Some have long storied histories with widely known reputations for exceptional food and service. Others simply mimic the style without understanding there is more to the supper club experience than brandy old fashions and prime rib. Rupp's definitely falls well short of the exceptional. Over the past decade my wife and I have dined several times at Rupp's and found the food, service and cost average though the table spacing has always been uncomfortably crowded, as if management was attempting to squeeze too many tables into too small a space. On this most recent visit the seating had devolved further, but was overshadowed by extremely bad service. With early reservations the four of us were seated quickly to a corridor between the bar and main dining room. The corridor was lined with undersized booths, one of which we found ourselves crammed into. Seeing that the main dining room had numerous open tables, we asked to be moved and were informed gruffly by our server that we could not do so. It is difficult to overemphasize the inadequacy of the booth seating. While the length of the table was sufficient for a group of four, the width of the table was no more than 26 inches. The gap between table edge and seatback was approximately 18 inches and the seat bench was shorter still and canted forward making the back of the seat bench slightly higher than the front. I was unable to extend my legs and throughout the meal my knees were frequently in contact with the person seated opposite me. Plating this oddly narrow table for two couples was very crowded and made regular bussing of used plates and glassware necessary. Unfortunately this ordinarily routine part of restaurant service occurred only after our server discovered she had no place to put our orders. Our server, it should be noted, seemed generally put out by our presence. Her facial expressions and stance suggested she might have been suffering some degree of back or leg pain which I'm sure added substantially to her overall inattentive sour demeanor and, realizing this, made our group more forgiving of the bad service, although our magnanimity toward her evaporated at the very end of our visit. I will explain later. Cocktails were ordered at the table and were served in good time. However, the drinks seemed watered down as evident in both color and taste. I am partial to a specific spirit and am very familiar with its strength and flavor. Despite being charged for the more expensive, I suspect being served bar rail. As part of our meal we were eventually invited to take salad, soup and other sides from the salad bar. The salad bar was clean and the greens and sides were fresh and appetizing. As mentioned above, our group was one of the first tables seated and, despite this, we found the bread basket held only three rolls. The bread was not replenished during our meal. After salad, the entrees we gradually received were of good quality, well prepared, well presented and palatable. However, our plates and sides arrived completely piecemeal over an unreasonably long period of time. When entrees or sides did arrive our server had difficulty finding room on our cramped table, mostly due to her failure to notice and address the growing assortment of used salad plates and glassware. After the meal we shared desserts which were presented well and were tasty. While enjoying conversation, still drinking coffee and finishing dessert, our server presented our separate bills. Now we come to the point in our visit to Rupp's Supper Club that evaporated any sense of patients or understanding toward our server or for that matter toward the business as a whole. Upon returning our credit cards, we were bluntly told by our server to leave our table as soon as possible because others were waiting to be seated. While I understand and accept the necessity of table turnover to the profitability of a restaurant, the business has an obligation to meet certain rudimentary customer service expectations, not least of which is to provide an atmosphere of enjoyment and comfort for a reasonable period of time. Though not etched in stone, the reasonableness of time spent at a table is not only dependent upon the customer but upon the quality and timeliness of service. Despite the uncomfortable seating and the sporadic nature of service, we were always good natured, abundantly patient and did not complain. To have paid our substantial dinner bill and then be unceremoniously told to leave was insulting and, from a long-term business perspective, very shortsighted. I will not be returning to Rupp's Supper Club in Cleveland, Wisconsin and, unless you enjoy average food quality with disappointing service in cramped uncomfortable seating, I suggest you avoid this business as well. read more

I do not live in WI, so it has been a while since I have been to Rupp's. We had great service and food. I love their salad bar. It has everything you need for a tasty salad. The clam chowder was also tasty. The bacon wrapped water chestnut appetizer was good with a nice dipping sauce. My hubbys porterhouse steak was huge and cooked perfectly! The steak was delicious. I like that there is seasoned butter on the plate with the steak. Try the rosemary fries. I had the deep fried shrimp, they were huge and pretty good. My mom in laws tenderloin was big and she loved it. The loaded baked potato is awesome. The drinks were good. The carrot cake was huge and yummy. Yes, we had a lot of food and it was all delicious! We had leftovers. The restaurant is quaint and I like the bar area too. Definitely make reservations. read more

Rupp's had some very tasty food with an amazing staff! I was recommended to head here by some of the locals and there was no disappointment at all. It was just me for Saturday night dinner but I did call about 2 hours ahead and made a reservation for 1. The place was packed so definitely make a reservation a day or two in advanced if you have a larger party. The entrance can be a little confusing but you enter from the bar and make your way to the back where the table service is. There is a small hostess area where any of the servers can help you get seated; just stop one when you get to the dining room. Everything was decorated for Christmas, dim lit, neat and clean. I was sat at a small table in the corner with an entire view of the dining room. My server was very nice, bubbly, and very knowledgeable about the menu offerings. She immediately greeted me with a smile and asked if I would like a drink while looking over the menu. She offered the specials of the day without even asking (including the pricing) as well as her favorites at the restaurant. Following her recommendation, I went with one of the Saturday night specials being the prime rib asked to be cooked medium. Prior to receiving my main course, there is salad bar and soup available unlimited. The salad bar toppings and dressing were ok, a little limited for my liking but good. The soups available that night were the Black Forrest and Stuffed Pepper. Those soups were probably the best things I had at the restaurant, they were so unique and so good. Don't forget to look above the salad bar for the dinner rolls if you are interested in some bread. The steak came out in a reasonable time cooked more on the medium rare side but trusting the chef's I took a bite and it was not a disappoint...delicious. There are 3 sizes of cuts you can get; I got the "queen" size and man was that huge! I paired that with the loaded baked potato and was that decadent, an awesome combo. Between the size of the steak and potato, I had more than enough food for 2 full meals. Overall, good experience and I would go back if ever in the area. This was my first "supper club" style restaurant and Rupp's left me wanting to try more restaurants of this style. read more

We both had a steak which was done to perfection! Ordered American fries and steak fries. Asked if we wanted onions on the American fries which we found out later was an extra $1? Anyway, salad bar was just ok, we know it's new owners but always loved Larry's coleslaw and other specialties they had! The only thing that turned us off was our server. Long wait times and seemed overwhelmed. We were early eaters that night so they weren't busy. Sometimes you just have to know when to hang it up! All in all great experience! Another top notch, small town Supper Club option in East Central Wisconsin. In fact, Rupp's is easily one of the best choices for a great meal in the Sheboygan and Manitowoc County Area. As in all Wisconsin Supper Club's, you first have to start with a great Old Fashioned in the bar. Then start your meal with an excellent soup and salad bar (still operating during Covid tines - only it's all served cafeteria style by a server). This salad bar always has 2 great soups and THE BEST blue cheese salad dressing you will ever taste. Their entrees are all great! You can't go wrong with any steak, but I would also highly recommend the pork chops or the tenderloin tips. If I could give extra stars I would! This place is a class act. We were coming into town in the evening after a 6 hour drive and found Rupp's as I was scouring the web for a place for a late dinner. We would be able to arrive right at 7:05pm, they closed at 8pm. Since we didn't want to be the people that arrived last minute to hold up staff from going home we called ahead and asked if our arrival time would be an issue. They stated that we were very welcome to dine with them and they would have our table waiting. I was already impressed with the politeness of the staff that answered the phone when we called and welcomed us so nicely. We were seated quickly and greeted for drinks. We ordered a couple drinks and ordered quickly as we were starving from the car ride. Our server then directed us to the salad and soup bar. It was soooo good. Everything looked fresh and was nice and cold. I'm not big on salad bars usually but this one looked nice and fresh even being at the end of the day. We enjoyed our drinks, soup and salad while waiting for our meal. Once our entrees arrived we were nearly stuffed. The food was AMAZING. My husband ordered steak and I went with the shrimp and scallops. The scallops were hands down some of the best I've had. They were cooked perfectly! My husband stated his steak was fantastic and was also cooked perfectly. I wish I lived closer to this place because we would definitely be regulars. I wish we'd know this before we sat down. - Sent all 3 burgers back as they were RARE - inedible to the guests who asked for medium and well done. - Waitess apologized for the error but warned us the kitchen was busy. We didn't know how to interpret that. - We left $40 on the table to more than cover the food we SENT BACK (had enough at this point, we'd been there an hour and wanted to go home). - Come to find our credit card (used earlier at the bar) was charged for an additional $28. Suprise! Don't charge us for food we couldn't eat. Next time we're visiting Cleveland, we'll definitely think twice. I know their food can be good, but overall such a disappointment! We had made reservations, but were ignored at the bar for 15 minutes before being served a drink (improperly aerated white wine . There is nothing that you can order here that isn't perfection on a plate. Very nice plating as well. Delicious salad bar which I always loom for in a restaurant. Drink prices, sometimes, seem to lack consistency between servers and bartenders. Service has always been spot on. The owner and family are the chefs and not can they cook! This restaurant is one of my top 2 restaurants. Both are supper-club style with salad bars and serve delicious filet mignon and lobster. I wish they'd have online menu prices and lobster not fried. Small sacrifices. I will never rate a restaurant by comparison to actual fancy Michelin 5* restaurants. I rate every restaurant on its OWN merit and whether or not they live up to THEIR potential. What a great little gem this place is! We stopped in on a Saturday night and found it to be quite busy, had called ahead for a reservation. We were able to get a seat right away at the bar and enjoyed an excellent old fashioned. Bar tender was very friendly and welcoming. This review is based on half a dozen visits over the last 3 years. Atmosphere: Supper club/bar vibe. The place is always very clean. HUGE bar area right when you walk in. Not a lot of parking, you more than likely will be parking on the street. Odd enough, I have never used the bathroom facilities here, so I can't report on that. I don't believe that you can make reservations for dinner until you arrive (don't quote me on that). Service: They have some of the sweetest bartenders/waitstaff of any restaurant establishment I've ever been too. Some times there are some PRETTY rowdy groups in here, (the drinks are made strong), and the staff always try to accommodate you and to pay extra attention to your table no matter how loud or large their other groups are. I don't know if Stephanie still works there, but she is my favorite server. Food: KILLER soup and salad bar. Best in 3 counties in my opinion. I could, and have just ate that as my meal. I recommend coming at least an hour and a half to 2 hours to close to have access to all of the ingredients. They tend to trim down at the end of the night to not waste food (smart) to keep their prices reasonable. A majority of their food is huge, and amazing. Walleye is as big as my forearm. Steaks are always tender and cooked perfectly. The only food they seem to have issues with is their sea scallops. They leave the side muscle (abductor) on, which is very chewy, so you need to pick it off before eating. Favorite dish of my fiance: Sliced tenderloin in a mushroom wine sauce. My favorite dish: The deep fried lobster....or the prime rib on Saturdays. So hard to choose! I miss going here, with the move it is over a 2 hour drive, so we rarely get to visit, but it will always hold a place in my heart (and my stomach haha). read more

This place has OUTSTANDING quality food at affordable prices, in a family restaurant setting (read=don't have to dress up). Pros: food excellent. Steak, drinks, soup, sides all fantastic. Only note is that there is not a kids menu, so be prepared to order off the delicious adult menu for everyone. I'll be back every time I'm passing through. I was so looking forward to having a steak dinner and I had heard good things. Unfortunately that did not happen. I ordered a medium New York strip. The rest of my dinner party was served their food and my server brought my food out 8 minutes later. It was severely charred on the outside and completely raw on the inside. I asked the server to have a new one made and she took it, leaving me without an entre as the rest of my group ate. 10 minutes later, she brought me the same steak which was even more charred. At this point, everyone else was nearly finished eating. I asked to have my steak taken off the bill due to the poor quality and the fact that everyone else would be done before mine even came out. To add insult to injury I was charged $12 for the salad bar and $4 for the potato. I didn't come there for the sides. Extremely poor taste. So I would not recommend this establishment. We popped in here about an hour before closing hungry and tired after a long day of air travel. Totally a random pick, and we just hoped it wasn't a local dive. We were happy to find it still busy with a cozy restaurant dining room and friendly staff. Their salad bar hit the spot and our entrees were great. My daughter (3) wanted a hot dog, which I they don't have... but they were accommodating and got her 1/2 Of the brat plate (not sure who could eat a full plate... 1 brat was enormous!).
