We had a reliable & HONEST, Knowledgable HVAC person, unfortunately he passed away and we are now looking for a new, reliable, honest HVAC company. I read yelp reviews most of which were positive for this company. Later we find out the positive reviews were before the company was bought out 2 weeks prior to our appointment. Anyways, we called... the first person that answered said we couldn't have an appointment for a few weeks, but we needed someone to service our units ASAP so they agreed to send a person out the next day. This person they sent was nice, however the spring service provided was unlike any other spring A/C service I have ever had before and not in a good way. When asked if the coolant would be checked i was told "it seems good, it feels cold" every tech previously hooked up gauges and actually checked the pressure and added if needed, but here I was told the "boss man would need to come out for that" and oh yeah, I would also need to pay an additional service fee for that to happen (I understand and expect to pay for additional coolant to be added). I mentioned that I heard a noise similar to the noise the other unit made when the capacitor went out, I was also told I would need to pay an additional service fee for the "boss man to come out". To sum it up, I was expecting an HVAC professional to come service our units, checking the motor, wiring, capacitors, voltage, etc. as we have had in the past. What we ended up with is paying somebody $238 to squirt the units off with a hose and telling us we would have to pay more and schedule another appointment for a real HVAC professional to come out. They show up on time, they answer their phones, they are quick to respond to emails and texts, and they don't try to add on any costs. Matt & Ben installed my new unit and worked very hard for 6 hours straight! They were polite, professional, and really seemed to care about getting everything exactly right. There was one small part they needed so they wouldn't take payment since the job wasn't 100% done. Chris came out on time and added the last piece and took payment at that time. I don't think I'll need any a.c. work for a long time but when I do, I won't call anyone but AirOne!

TIP: Check costs before you invite anyone out to work on your system(s). I found Primus's $85 trip charge to be somewhat reasonable. But the cost of Freon? Not so much. A quick check on eBay indicates these folks pay not more than $25 per pound of R22 for their Freon and then charge you the stated price of $100. When asked why, the smug response was .. "Well, that's capitalism." My response .. "Well, when you charge 4 times what something costs, that leaves the consumer feeling ripped off. So here's something else about capitalism you should know. People won't use you when they feel ripped off." My thoughts: There's just something not right about being told I should be happy about being ripped off simply because "That's capitalism". That would be why I concluded the call. I suppose the vendor subsequently decided our discussion wasn't over, so he immediately called back to lecture me, rather aggressively. I hung up. A few seconds later, he called again. I didn't answer. So in the end, the decision to not use Primus is more than justified by their absurdly expensive (in my opinion) Freon and their aggressive response to (pre)customer feedback.

As of today, we were forced to install an entirely new HVAC unit to replace the one we purchased…read moreonly 15 months ago from Energy Sharks. The original unit we were sold is no longer manufactured with replacement parts available. After waiting extensively for a resolution, we ultimately had no choice but to move forward with purchasing a new unit - this time the correct size. During this process, we also learned that the explanations previously given to us, by Energy Sharks ,that the problems were due to using the wrong filters, that the system was filthy, and that nothing could be done - were false. The new installer worked directly with York to help us secure another unit, but we still incurred an additional cost of $6,200 for installation. In total, within just 16 months, we have spent over $15,000 to have a functional HVAC system - double what the actual cost should have been. My concern remains that others may be misled or treated as poorly as we have been, and I do not want additional consumers to experience the same level of frustration and financial burden. I would encourage everyone to just look through the recent reviews to see how bad this company has become. New ownership came with horrible people.
