I have to try visit again to have a full opinion. For a hot chai it was satisfactory, will let you know how i feel about the espresso next time. I don't love the access from College, but hey! I'm glad their sign is bigger than most so that helps. The service was friendly and drink was to the perfect temperature keep my hands warm and not burn my mouth. With a drive thru coffee joint, there was a wait per usual and a longer line. Great for business, but may not attract folks who aren't expecting a wait. The Human Bean is always delicious! Prices are comparable to Starbucks (or cheaper) and their staff is always friendly and kind. I love their variety of chocolate drinks and have recently gotten into the energy drinks which are super refreshing. The drive thru moves fast on both sides or you can walk up. read more

I am recommending this coffee shop because you can get 24 ounce and even 30 ounce matcha drinks & coffee drinks here. You might think this is a bad thing ... but in this case ... it is not. The matcha powder they use is not pre-sweetened. It tasted pretty good. I would not say this is best quality matcha powder you can find .. no The 24 ounce that I went with, sweetened lightly with simple syrup did the trick for me since they don't provide agave. Not really familiar with the area and was looking for a place to grab a cup of coffee. The Human Bean popped up and looked like a convenient spot since they have a drive thru. Wasn't sure what to order and mentioned that it was my first time there. The employee who helped me out was the sweetest. She gave me a few recommendations and made a few modifications to the drink that I selected. I forgot what it was called but it ended up tasting amazing. I also love the little chocolate covered espresso bean they include. She even gave me a little card with my name on it to come back for a free coffee on my next visit. I forgot her name but that employee truly made my day and I can't wait for the next time that I can stop by here to grab some coffee. Came here for my first time today to try to Matcha latte over ice and it was soo good. I have a severe nut allergy and the sweet girl at the window was so helpful in making sure my drink was safe for me. She checked with her other employees and told me that all their milks (nut and not nut) are kept in the fridge together (not an issue for me). And even put a little sticker on my drink signifying that its nut free. I got it without the little choclate ball that usually comes on top (bc allergy) and my drink was soo good. We enjoyed our Human Bean coffee drinks at the motorcycle rally this past weekend from the RV mobile coffee truck! I received a gift card and for some reason, the reader would not work from the number on the card. The young women helping us were so kind and said that they'd honor our purchase as if the card had worked. They also said we could get in touch with Human Bean and they would fix the card. We ended up tipping them the cost of our drinks as we didn't expect them to be so kind. This was our first time at HB and because the service was so good and our drinks were delicious, we will be back very soon and the little coffee bean on top was awesome! read more

This is my go-to coffee place. Always cheerful, always friendly, always helpful. But on 12/23, the cheerfulness, graciousness, and superb level of service by Erica led me to write this review. Just posting it a little late. The coffee's always good here. Other drinks I get, including smoothies, very tasty. The breakfast burritos are fine, particularly the chorizo and sweet potato. The bean is a nice complement to the drink and makes for a special accent. As I said, the staff is always friendly and kind. But coming from a kind of a grumpy morning for me, Erica's attentions and cheer just turned the day around. From the moment that she greeted me, coming up to my car to help pare the line down, to engaging me at the window and introducing herself. Brought sunshine into my figuratively cloudy day. WOW So we were in town and wanted coffee. This place drew our attention because of it's interesting name. The Human Bean?? LOL Is it made of humans? Anyways.. we roll in and walk up to the window. The gals were so incredibly sweet and kind and helpful. The coffee was top notch. They gave us two cards for free coffee for our next visit, so we went back the next day! They have a great selection of sugar free (and regular) flavored syrups. The coffee was great. And don't laugh, but I was ridiculously excited by the high quality coffee cup covers. It SLIDES OPEN, you guys! My boyfriend made fun of me, but I am the Queen of Coffee Spillage so I loved this easy to use and functional cup top. I wish they had whole cream!! So good. This is one of my favorite drive-thru coffee places in Northern Colorado. The staff are always super nice and they never get frustrated with customers even when they are overwhelmed. I am a frequent visitor of this Human Bean location and I am always treated with friendliness, great service, and an awesome iced Toddy (one of the better cold brew options available in foco, for sure). Certain times of the day draw in more people looking for a coffee fix, yet the wait is usually not long; if it is taking a bit longer than usual (understandable given the amount of customers) the baristas always make an effort to alleviate the inconvenience in some way (an extra punch on your punchcard, or running out to the cars that are in line to take orders and speed up the process). I have received especially good service from the baristas Kawtar and Cat (spelling may be a bit off) recently; both of whom are very sweet individuals! Overall, the Human Bean is a great stop and I highly recommend it! read more

I have been visiting the Human Bean in Fort Collins for years. The employees are always kind and friendly, welcoming, and make great coffee! The other day, I noticed one of the employees, who has worked for the company for what seems many years now, was wearing a mask when she took my order. I asked her if they had reinstituted the mask policy for Covid, as it seemed to me that employees had been working unmasked for quite some time. She told me, no, there was not a new Covid mask requirement. She was wearing a mask because Human Bean had a nose-piercing policy (only one hoop, if I am remembering correctly), and she has several nose piercings. I have seen this young woman's piercings before, out in public, and they are beautiful. They are an expression of this young woman's identity. I don't have any nose piercing's myself, and most likely never will, but I don't see anything wrong with having them. Times have changed from when I was young. Back then, people conformed. I didn't know anyone with a nose piercing until I was probably in my 30's. Back then, people judged anyone who dressed or acted differently (I did it too, I'm sad to admit). We were all wrong! We have thankfully grown into a society where we strive to understand, accept, and treat all people as beautiful human beings, no matter their dress, hair color, gender, sexuality, race, tattoos, and yes, piercings. Please consider letting this young woman express herself. For those of us born awhile back who may not be used to some of these self-expressions, we'll get used to it - trust us to also be kind human beings who are ready and willing to learn, grow, and change with the times. And for the odd customers who may not like humans who don't conform to their liking, The Human Bean doesn't need that type of customer - let them find a coffee shop that better fits their standards. I send a two-star rating along with this message, only because of the outdated piercing policy. Once that policy is changed, and employees are able to express themselves as they see fit, my review goes back up to 5 stars! read more

Generally, I prefer to support local coffee shops because you tend to get more knowledgeable baristas than a chain that is arguably more famous for their frozen coffee milkshakes... Can't say this was the case. Nobody knew what a traditional macchiato was and I ended up with something resembling a cappuccino versus 2 shots of espresso. read more
