Loved my visit to The Bean Cycle in Fort Collins. I got a raspberry white chocolate latte and the latte art was absolutely beautiful. I also tried a scone that was really yummy. The seating area is comfortable and cozy, making it a great place to relax for a while. We were so bummed when we showed up one day and they were gone -- but thankfully, they'd just moved a short walk away. And the new space is even better: warm, cozy, inviting, with plenty of seating up front and in the lounge area in back. Great vibe, friendly service, easy to hang out, and they have free WiFi and street parking. My go-to drink is the R2CBD2 espresso, and my husband loves their coffee. They now have a liquor license too, so you can grab a beer or wine. They were between seasonal specials during our last visit, but past drinks with lavender, blood orange, and rose have been fantastic. Excited to try their holiday menu when it rolls out. Came here for coffee while visiting Fort Collins during the holidays. When you walk in, the tables and walls are outfitted with knickknacks, cards and little tchotchkes like a gift shop-- seems to be all items are from local artists. The menu has lots of options and the gal who took my order was kind--I went with my usual an oat milk latte. While wandering around Fort Collins one Sunday morning, my husband and I were in search of a good coffee shop. Turns out there are like 15 coffee shops in FoCo, so it was hard to choose just one! But when we stumbled upon the Bean Cycle, we knew we had to check it out. This cute, little, bike-themed shop has bicycles hanging on the wall - a clear draw to the bikers of Fort Collins. It also has a small kick-knack shop upfront, art studios for rent in the back, and a loft upstairs w/ cozy couches and more seating. My husband and I were in the mood for hot lattes on that chilly morning, so we both opted for a large latte - his w/ toffee nut and whole milk and mine w/ irish cream and oat milk. Within about 5 minutes, our lattes were brought out to us, beautiful latte art and all! The flavors were delicious, and the coffee was sooo warming. We were so satisfied with every sip we took as we sat upstairs in the lofted area. I highly recommend stopping in to the Bean Cycle for your FoCo coffee! read more

Awesome coffeehouse in Old Town Square in Fort Collins. This place is a must if you are walking around and in need of a pick-me-up or something refreshing. The place did not look spacious from the outside but when I went in, I noticed they have quite a few tables to sit and a few seats up by the bar area. I wanted to walk around and experience the other offerings of Old Town Square so I got my coffee to go but the inside was well-kept, organized and had some lovely decor. They also have some boards hanging on their walls with great coffee tips. I loved it! Service was super friendly. I was very much impressed by how wonderful the baristas were! What a great coffee spot! There are several coffee places in the Fort Collins Old Town area, so it's tough to compete. This spot has really tasty coffee and nice, simple pastries to go with it. I stopped off here when I needed a place to sit down and hang out for a while with a cup of joe. The parking wasn't bad since I came early morning. They were doing social distancing, but I found a small table in the back and it was perfect. The coffee was hot and perfect. The chocolate croissant with cream cheese drizzle was light and slightly warmed (she offered). The space is not very large with the pandemic conditions, but I'm sure it would be larger when they open up the upstairs portion and get some more tables going. I'll be back! read more

I wrote a review for this place in 2014 and only gave it 3 stars... mostly because of price, maybe I was just bitter because I was broke at the time... Well I regret that review because honestly this has become my favorite coffee shop in the world (and I have been to coffee shops all over it)... The coffee is amazing, the espresso is out of this world, the people who work here are some of my favorite people in town. I absolutely LOVE this place. I am truly annoyed with my previous review of this place, because I was absolutely wrong. Just some extra things. First and foremost is the atmosphere, it is absolutely beautiful inside and I love all the little nooks and crannies of the place, and I love the high ceilings! They roast their coffee in the back and it makes the place smell like heaven. The special drinks they come up with, are always amazing! In fact, I was coming in here so dang much, they let me name one of their drinks, The Affo-getabout-it, their affogato which is delicious! Oh yeah, make sure you get something with whipped cream, because they make it in house and you will have dreams of them spraying some into your mouth! Anyways, I am admitting I was wrong, it is rare, but I was completely wrong in 2014... I love this place and you will too! The bean cycle is a quintessential cafe that I'm glad I visited in old town. I spent three hours here catching up on my work all while downing a large chai. Atmosphere in here is airy and inviting. The cafe has many tables one can sit with their laptop or book As well as a few couches near the back of the store. I really hate crowded cafes and I'm glad the bean cycle isn't one of them. Older pictures show a row of bookshelves on the top floor loft are but it has changed and now the loft is an art studio which I think is pretty dope. Overall I would come again because I was very comfortable in this cafe and the chai was extra spicy. Yum. read more

I was excited to go to this place for coffee, but the customer service ruined the experience for me. I was the only one in line and the person behind the counter wouldn't give me the time of day. I had to find a couple of ways to get their attention before I was helped. The coffee they made was good, but the poor customer service hurt the review for me. Nice place. Really good coffee. Had a muffin with cheddar, feta and rosemary that was super. They made my coffee with hot half and half - it was just how I like it. Unfortunately for me, those low wise coffee cups are exactly the kind I hate. Easy to spill, the surface area is huge so the coffee gets cold really fast. I found myself gulping so I could still have it while it was warm. The chairs - seating in general - pretty much hurt after a few minutes. I switched from the wire seat (terrible) to a couch which was more or less the kind a college student throws out after they leave college. The staff was aware, awake, helpful and clearly doing their best. The bathroom I used was a mess. I suppose it's difficult to monitor that when you have a full house like they do this morning. I've been here before. I could have sworn they had big overstuffed chairs that were comfy... one more note on the cup: when the woman brought it to me, it was full to the brim. Since there is only one sugar container, I walked my coffee to the bar to get sugar: big mistake. A group of girls came in and blocked my path with my overfill cup back to my seat. Good thing I hadn't sat upstairs. I would never have made it down and back without spilling (they delivered the coffee to my table). I will have coffee here again. But I'm going to look for a place that offers a little more comfort. read more

Coffee by itself is usually hard to beat. But adding books into the equation makes a perfect combination. The Bean Cycle has a great feel to it. It's lively inside, with a great set up, and fun customers. It's 100% impossible to miss the menu - it's spaced along many huge signs above the bar. It's very aesthetically pleasing. I walked in while waiting for some downtown shops to open, figuring I needed a small knitting break. Though I was very tempted by the juices and house-made smoothies, I went with a "b.c. chai". Chais are usually hit or miss for me, but the Bean Cycle's version didn't disappoint. It was a little more "spicy" than I liked, but paired with the comfy couch near the start of the bookstore, and knitting? I was very satisfied. After finishing my drink, I took a quick tour through the bookstore. It's very simple and cute - and I didn't make it to the second level before needed to run. I loved that there was a small section featuring local artwork to purchase! More exploring here is necessary. The Bean Cycle is a coffee shop I would most definitely return to. It'd be great for studying, with strong WiFi, and there's something about the added section of books that makes the atmosphere more comforting. The only thing missing is a cat or three! read more

Yet another scrumptious coffee shop in Oldtown Fort Collins! This coffee shop is housed in the same spot as Matter Bookstore. This coffee shop is about in the middle as far as traffic goes. It was fairly quiet but there were people coming and going, but not like some of the other coffee shops in town where it is swamped and you have to sit outside once you are served! I ordered a Mexican Mocha which was wonderful! It had a nice chocolaty kick to it which I adored! At the bottom of my mug was a little piece of a cinnamon stick, clearly responsible for me having such a good time with my drink. I had a chocolate chip cookie which was huge and I couldn't finish it all but it sure was great for a later snack! So I went deeper and got a pour over with Costa Rican beans which was wonderful and a slice triple berry pie which was delicious! I stopped by here midweek to caffeine-up for a 1300 mile drive. The place is spacious, but warm and inviting at the same time. I was the first customer of the day at 7am, and the barista was incredibly welcoming. I drink a lot of cappuccinos, and I'd put the capp at Bean Cycle at a solid second-tier (e.g. not amazing, but WAY better than Starbucks). The process was sound, but the result was a little sour. Totally could have been that the grind wasn't dialed in so early in the day, so I'll definitely give it another try if I ever again find myself in Fort Collins. read more

This was the first coffee shop I went to when I moved to Fort Collins. I had zero complaints the first time I popped in for a coffee, I discovered they made freshly squeezed juice, I basically fell in love after that. I am extremely indecisive, I doubt everything, so I took my doubting self out and about for the next year to explore other coffee shops around Fort Collins. Every time, it just wasn't the same. I kept coming back to the bean cycle for comfort and delicious beans. It's been a little over a year, the bean cycle is still the shiz. From their monthly concoctions, the coffee selection, add ins, and the incredibly fresh juices you can't go wrong. The environment is so homey feeling, you can get a view of old town or you can bundle up on the couch. You can't go wrong at this place. What to order? I go with the black coffee or one of their monthly specials, these people know what they are doing. I also love all of their juices. read more

This is my favorite coffee shop in town. I love the combination of book store with coffee. It's such an obvious marriage of perfection. The whole store has a homey, local vibe that I just love. It had been a little while since I've been in and they didn't have the extensive chalkboard drink menu anymore. I wasn't sure if they had simplified on the visual or the menu itself so I asked about the Mexican mocha. The barista told me that was an easy drink to make and he could do it. When I came in during the rainy Friday afternoon I was greeted with a pleasant smile. I was decided to go with something more traditional. I wanted to try something that maybe was their specialty but I only feel it is fair to judge a coffee shop on how they handle basic drinks, so I ordered a Cortado. The foam was right where it needed to be at about 1oz. The cup with a nice little design with a handle. (I'm used to handless cups so it was nice to have that haha.) They have orange walls and the cup was orange on the handle and saucer. (Just kind of a cool feature that ties the aesthetics of a shop together.) There also is a charitable bookstore at the back of the shop with two levels. The first sip was nice and hot. I let it cool a little to get best flavor and continued to drink. As I had more I noticed some of the subtle flavor of the roast. It was quite strong and a little darker than I prefer but by no means bad. I think this part comes down to a preference. 4/5 Stars for aesthetic and overall good experience. Next time: I would try a specialty drink, find out what they're best at.
