Lots of pretension, which is not backed up by quality beans at this rotisserie. Tons of signifiers and symbols of a good coffee experience do not equate one. This is very expensive and unremarkable coffee served in a sterile yet fussy environment with a wiff of superiority. With other options nearby I would pass on this one. read more

I first tried John Galt Coffee about a year ago, mostly for the name. My son is a big Ayn Rand fan. Cool name, but the actual coffee was so bad, I swore it off for good. Fast forward to now, I was looking for a meeting at the Atlas Theater. GPS took me around the block a few times until I finally realized it's John Galt Coffee. As before, the atmosphere was great. The meeting had the obligatory coffee table at the back. No cream, which is fine since I take it black anyway. The coffee was noticeably horrible, but over the three hours I was there, I managed to finish a cup. Not before it sent me running to the bathroom though. I didn't make the connection with what I was drinking until I saw the bottom. Yeeeah that's sludge. John Galt, adjust your grind. You have it set to espresso & this is drip. Make it coarser. Came here looking to try a new coffee place in the Greeley area. I was unsure whether I should come to this place because I couldn't find a lot of information about it, but I'm glad I came. I'll tell you a little more about this place. It's downtown Greeley off of 8th Avenue on the side street. There is plenty of parking along both sides of the road. When you walk in you'll notice that there is plenty of space and the ordering station is in front of you. There are snacks for sale on display, drinks in a cooler, and even handmade jewelry for sale. There are plenty of places to sit; both tables and booths. See the pictures attached. I ordered a latte, with almond milk, with Splenda in it. I was impressed with the latte because it tasted really good, and was made in style with a nice heart design using the almond milk. See the attached pictures. I also asked if there was any gluten/lactose free snacks I could have. They did have gluten free and vegan cookies, so I got a chocolate one. I did notice there was some granola bars sitting on display too. The barista was really nice, helpful, and had a good attitude, and again, I enjoyed my hot almond milk latte. The chocolate cookie was decent and you can see it in my attached pictures as well. I like this place because it is a great place to study or relax by yourself in quiet. It also has great sitting areas for personal time over coffee with a few friends. The decorations are nice, there is both plenty of seating both inside and outside, and even an area in the back room for special events. If I were to make any suggestions: I'd say that there could be more "gluten/lactose/vegan" snacks out on display, or even available to eat. I did see some type of pound cake/loaf in a clear plastic display, but I'm guessing it is not both gluten/lactose free. It would be great to see some gluten/lactose/vegan muffins and other baked items on display, or available from the cooler on request. Not just a cookie for me. I also would like to see more sweeteners available for the coffee, not just Splenda and sugar. Truvia is a favorite, and stevia is super common too, and a healthier common alternative for coffee. I don't recall if there was music on in there, but I always recommend the "Jazz HipHop Cafe" station on Spotify. Listen to it if you get the chance. Making these very few minor adjustments would go a long way. Again, I am satisfied with this place and do like it. I recommend that you and your friends come here and sit down to relax with a coffee. Prices are reasonable, but coffee isn't the greatest, and each time I go in (roughly a half-dozen times in the past 2 years, either by bike, alone, or with wife and daughter), we're treated very coldly and made to feel like we're not welcome. Love this place. A real chill place to work and drink coffee or chai while you are grading college students' essays. I like the cortado. It sure does pack a punch in a tiny espresso cup. we ordered 2 chaIs and large pour overs ... the chais were good the (Rwandan beans) coffees were ok .... we asked for large and they only had one size, so he made them in the french press but they were weak, so we think he didn't add enough beans for 2 larges ... good selection was only 3-4 breads, ie, banana, walnut, etc, so wasn't a great grab and go for that reason either. read more

Delicious latte. Came here on my way to an interview to grab a quick latte. It didn't end up being too quick as there was one barista and she was making two other people's drinks when I came in, but she acknowledged me and told me she could get to me in a moment which I thought was very nice. Once I got the drink it was really quite delicious. Seems like their menu offered a lot of different types of brew methods to try out and some interesting espresso drinks. This place was a great place to go hang out and study. I went there looking for a new coffee shop to try in Greeley and was happy to stumble upon it. The coffee and pastry I had was very nice, and the atmosphere was calm and quiet. My only complaints were that it took about 10-15 minutes to get service because the barista was in the bathroom, and there were people studying (1 person per table) so I felt intrusive to others by having a chat with my friend and by looking for a place to sit. John Galt has been fabulous on every visit we've made. Crafting caffeinated cravings with complete care, every drink we've tried has been a hit! The art adorning the walls is always changing, but on the last few visits, we've been pleasantly surprised to see art for sale by some of the communities youngest talents. When the Wild Boar shut down in Fort Collins, I was afraid I woul not find a coffee shop where the people who worked were encouraged to be as real as the people who visited. While every other coffee place offers more and more drinking styles that merely include bad espresso that's drowned out with milk and syrups, John Galt Coffee stays true to real good coffee. I've spent countless hours here studying and chatting with friends. There's always something new when you come to John Galt be it the great local art or the featured international beans. And these people actually know about all the various methods to make coffee. Aeropress, Pourover, Syphon, French press... whatever. They know it. And it's always good. I went in and purchased a green tea. I let it steep and proceeded to doze off for awhile. After about a half hour, i decided to move to a table in the sun and resettled myself.
