I really liked the seats and appreciated the seat heaters. The screens and audio were good quality. The cons: The food service had some issues. 40 minutes into the movie, our order of 2 dishes had not arrived. I had to leave the theater and find staff to request an update. A while later, someone finally brought the food. However, it was ice cold. It had clearly been left sitting out. We then had to leave the theater again to address the issue. Thankfully we were given a refund and some free popcorn, which we greatly appreciated (as we were very hungry and about an hour into the movie at that point). The bathrooms were also rough. They were pretty dirty with several toilets unusable and toilet paper all over the floor. The smell was quite unpleasant.

There is also a large parking garage nearby (free parking). AISD student art work is prominently displayed throughout the building. I was at the performing arts center for a Alvin Alley dance workshop. This dance group travels throughout the world featuring modern dance, ballet and Afro beat movements. During middle and high school years we got the opportunity to see the Alvin Alley dancers every year. Their performance was elegant, rhymic and exquisitely executed. I remember being in awe of their toned bodies and breathtaking athletic and graceful moves. I remember also thinking how beautiful their ballet moves. Today's Rhythm and Movement workshop was engaging, authentic and very enjoyable. I loved that the workshop was diverse - ages 6 to 70+ years old, from all walks of life and different ethnicities. Look forward to the Alvin Alley dance performance next week...

The theater complex is conveniently situated at the edge of the Mueller development. Parking is covered, close, convenient, and FREE. Productions here are reasonably priced with tickets typically in the $10-15 per person range. Concessions are often run by boosters; while limited in their offerings, water is not $6 a bottle like it is at UT productions. The space is modern and attractive. In terms of comfort, I found the Black Box theater to be the less welcoming of the two. Seats are difficult to access in the risers, and I do not have mobility issues. The seats themselves are comfortable however. In sharp contrast, the main theater is very accommodating and comfortable. If accessibility is it all an issue I would check to see which theater your production is in before you buy the tickets. Highly recommended.

Also noticed the single seats with no table in front of them has pull-up swinging tables on the side. I saw so many posts on Facebook about the Dutchens Festival, all advertising it as "the annual…read moreDutchens Fest -- the biggest festival in Pflugerville!" I was so excited to attend, especially since it was my first time. It was promoted as a fun, community-based event -- but the reality was completely different once we arrived. As a family of eight, we were told there was an entrance fee of $10 per person for one day, $15 per person the next day, and around $20 on the last day. You're telling me I'd have to pay $80 just to walk in with my family to walk inside a public park with vendors? On top of that, there were tons of small businesses, vendors, and rides for the kids -- which is great -but you have to pay for that as well. Nowhere online did it clearly say there was an admission fee just to enter -- $10 the first day, $15 the next, and $20-$25 the final day. And keep in mind, this was held at a public park. They completely gated the entire area off, like literally fenced it off every inch with metal gates so no one could enter without paying -- it felt like a lockdown, not a festival. It's honestly frustrating that a city like Pflugerville, which is supposed to be so "community-oriented," would host an event that excludes people based on whether they can afford to pay just to walk into a public space. What if someone just wanted to support local small businesses or grab food from a food truck? If you have a family of 4, 5, 6, 7 -- you're dropping $50, $60, $70, $80 just to get in. The advertising was misleading, and the setup felt more about profit than community. I really hope future events are more transparent and actually represent the community spirit they claim to have. Also, where exactly do these funds go? Because ,I have no clue. They should be ashamed charging people to enter a public park -- especially when everyone inside is already spending money.

The 27th Red Poppy Festival taking place in Georgetown, Texas on April 24-26, 2026 is an…read moreinteractive and welcoming spring celebration that truly captures the heart of the community. The festival is held in the city's historic downtown square. The festival brings together live music, artisans, vendors, food trucks, parades, and family-friendly activities in a festive atmosphere. The streets come alive with color, energy, and the signature red poppies that symbolize Georgetown's identity as the "Red Poppy Capital of Texas". Until today, I did not know this well-kept secret. It was so cool to see so many people with poppy clothing - dresses, tops, pants and even one gentleman with a red poppy beard. My friend and I spent 6 hours at the festival. This festival has a little something for everyone. Georgetown visitors and residents enjoyed multiple music stages (Red Poppy, Mayfair and Celebrate) featuring local and nationally recognized performers, browse more than 150 handmade artisan booths, and take part in traditions he such as the Poppy Parade, classic car show, and the POPP Pup Parade. The featured bands while we visited included: Red Poppy Stage Schedule American Gypsy Band: 5:15-6:15 p.m. Jade Eagleson: 6:45-8 p.m. Maddie & Tae: 8:30-10 p.m. Mayfair Stage Schedule Rich Stolp: 4-5 p.m. Celebrate Stage Schedule GISD Ballet Folklorico and Mariachi Band: 4-4:50 p.m. Georgetown Palace Theatre Education: 5-5:55 p.m. The Red Poppy Festival fostered a huge sense of community. Local businesses, volunteers, and performers came together to create a warm, authentic small-town experience. With thoughtful touches such as shuttles, accessible parking options, and pet-friendly policies, the festival reflects Georgetown's hospitality and commitment to inclusivity. The event was well-organized, free to attend, and designed to appeal to all ages, making it an ideal outing for families, couples, and friends. The Red Poppy Festival was a joyful celebration of spring, local culture, and community pride and a standout event in Central Texas's festival calendar. Only one thing that could have made it better was to see actual fresh poppies.

Great local event that we were able to attend for the first time since moving in the area…read more Tons and tons of different vendors selling food, arts, crafts, products, services and much more. I loved the setup, putting vendors back to back and not closing off the regular stores in the area. We wandered for a few hours checking out stores and booths, mixing between so we could get relief from the heat. We were able to be more exposed to stores we maybe wouldn't have stopped into before this event. Due to the event spanning multiple blocks it was easy to find street parking that didn't feel super far away from the action. They had a designated area where 6 or 7 food trucks were parked. This was the only area that needs to be setup differently in the future. Long lines and it was confusing who was in line and difficult to stay out of others way or to get through past people waiting in line or for food to be done. We'll definitely be attending again next year and will probably go later in the day to enjoy the free concerts in the square as well.
