Of the three lounges I tried in an afternoon in Sydney, The House was by far the best for atmosphere, ambiance, and selection. And for this reason, I assume, it was also the most crowded.
The House is a bit out of the way, depending on which airline you're flying. I was flying Qantas, and this lounge was a bit of a haul away from the Qantas gates on the day I flew, seemingly closer to the gates other international carriers fly from, and far from the Qantas lounge.
Entering the lounge from the main concourse, the main lounge area is down a staircase after checking in. It is somewhat small, or felt that way because it was nearly completely full. It is warmly furnished, like a cozy hotel lobby bar, and the windows are eye level with the aircraft which is imposing but a cool and unusual perspective. The bar in the lounge is full service, which is a nice touch. Bartenders await to make you your drink of choice. I was limited on time so I simply had a glass of prosecco. The bar service was prompt and friendly, despite it being a busy time for the lounge. I did not for or try any food options.
