Entrance has a wall of live plants with that wonderful view and great lounge chairs to add to your enjoyment.

I wish I was a first class traveler but I am not, therefore it was such a treat to have this opportunity to experience this lounge at Qantas in Sydney. I was there due to a less than stellar flight to Sydney. I love Qantas and used to work for them in the 60's. This lounge is a delight. A warm welcome for the traveler, the amenities all outlined upon arrival and clearly whatever you need in your time there is their pleasure. I must mention Emanuel, his attention and service was exceptional. He took us to our table in the restaurant, explained we could come and go as many times as we cared to and that if we did choose to go walkabout in the airport, they would keep any carryons for us so it would be more enjoyable. The restaurant had a thoughtful menu with perfectly sized portions. We chose the club sandwich and the snapper, dessert was Banoffee and their pavlova. Everything was perfectly cooked, elegantly served and delicious. I was a bit surprised at the dress worn by many patrons there. Many were in t shirts, jeans, sweats, aloha shirts, I wasn't expecting a dress code but a subtle one I think. Staff were attentive and there was no charge for your food or drinks of course. I appreciated Qantas caring enough to turn my negative experience into a lovely memory. I remain a true fan of Qantas, just like Rainman, this airline is my airline!

This is far and away one of the top airline lounges I've ever visited. Access is for first class passengers on Qantas or a OneWorld partner or OneWorld emerald members. It's very easy to find after clearing immigration and security by following the signs up the escalator. The entry hallway has a beautiful wall full of green plants and flowers that make you almost forget you're in an airport. Inside you will find a beautiful, contemporary, large lounge with varied seating areas and a great view of the tarmac outside. There is also a spa inside offering complimentary treatments. The true highlight is the full service restaurant with an extensive menu and professional servers in white jackets. Who doesn't love a top notch restaurant with a menu without prices because everything is complimentary? And don't forget the extensive cocktail menu with top notch champagne choices. I tried the pumpkin soup, and we shared the salt and pepper squid. Both were excellent. The squid particularly had a wonderful crunchy coating that was not too oily or greasy, and the squid was not rubbery at all. We wanted to save room for the fabulous Qantas inflight cuisine, but we had to try deconstructed pavlova that this lounge restaurant is famous for. A delicious choice that was almost too beautiful to eat! You absolutely must visit this lounge if you're flying out of Sydney, and it's worth getting to the airport early to enjoy.

Doesn't get much better than this. The size of this lounge is staggering considering the amount of people in it. The food is tremendous but know some offering are a full meal and other 3 bites. As not noted, it's quite easy to over or under order though as everything is gratis, it can be easily remedied.

True first class lounge. The service and food here is ridiculous. the A la carte menu is great, I went in the morning and they had all your regular western breakfast options... I went with eggs benedict. Plenty of wine and champagne options as well. They have plenty of seating with huge windows overlooking the runway. There is a spa (I didn't get to try it). If you have access through Qantas/Oneworld, I highly recommend this lounge over any other in sydney. Great experience!

It's taking a lot to impress me these days, but I have to say this lounge is the real deal. The fact that I get to order from a menu with several options, my meals and drinks are delivered by a pleasant waitress and not having to tower over a nasty buffet line with unmanaged kids, who don't know whether to pick snacks with their bare hands or not is a winner for me.

Everything you would expect from a 1st class lounge is here. Plenty of food and drink, nice comfy lounge, showers, free wifi, and if you're lucky a good view of the runway and your plane! Qantas called me a few days before my flight and offered me a massage before my flight. I thought, "what a great idea, why not?!" So took up there offer. Whilst it was a nice room with relaxing music to drive the mood, the massage was less that inspiring. Actually, it was more like just having some oil being rubbed into your back, without any pressure at all. Didnt relax me at all, but then again, I was about to hop into a 1st Class seat on a long haul flight, so I guess it didnt really matter.

Liking the new(ish) first class lounge, he staff are great, the food and wine choices are good and the environment is excellent. Only couple of points to note is that it is a little out of the way the first time you try and find it; and that the male bathrooms have had a door that is hard to close across both my visits 2 months apart (please fix it already).

Defiantly better than the standard Qantas lounge and it inspires me to get to the airport a several hours early to relax back with a steak and wine and get ready for the trip. Back in there tomorrow for another trip looking forward to it more than the flight.

My trip this year to the US was my first experience in a first class lounge and the Qantas Sydney lounge had certainly been hyped up for me. Following on from the common design elements in their business lounges, the first class lounge has a number of "zones", including a dining zone, where you can have a more substantial breakfast, lunch or dinner. Due to the change in QF11's times (leaving about 3 hours earlier) I missed out on the lunch menu, but I did have the lovely sweet corn fritters for a late breakfast. There's also a number of self serve options including coffee, cold water/drinks and so on. I utilised the showers when I was at the lounge as well. They were well laid out, obviously high quality design and materials used for them. They were also clean which is important. I also managed to score a session at the day spa. I took the back massage option as I hoped it would loosen me up and help me relax for the flight and holiday ahead. The massage was great, although the sessions last only about 20 minutes now, so you're left wanting more. The window side of the lounge overlooks the tarmac and you might even see the plane for your flight waiting for you. Overall a very classy experience.

The Qantas First lounge is absolutely my favourite lounge in the world. It's so good, I'll intentionally arrive 3-4 hours before my flight to enjoy it. Despite being over 10 years old, it is such a perfectly designed space and the view over the apron and runway is spectacular. I dream about the salt and pepper calamari (ask nicely and the chef will make you some during breakfast when it is not normally available). The pavlova is also one of my favourites. And be sure to ask for a spa booking as soon as you enter reception up the escalator. My only slight grievance is that the guest list is possibly a little too generous. At times the lounge can be rather crowded, particularly with families.

Hopefully you don't have a flight through a gate with single digits, it's a walk. It's located on the lower floor with the other lounges. It's located near Gates 50-63 in the Depatures area. The decor is nice and there chairs are comfortable. The drinks are easy to get to and the area is wide open. I came during the evening on a Saturday and the place is empty. There are a lot of outlets by each table and the music is quite soothing. The service here is really good. The bartender was very friendly and quick. The waiters here are very attentive and take your dirty plates quite quickly. Overall, if you have an international flight, this will satisfy you for your trip back to the states. The clean sitting areas and decent selection of beers will make sure that your flight is a sleepy one.

They are the Amex Centurion Lounge... run by Plaza Premium. I don't believe I've had a chance to try a Plaza premium lounge so is this what would be expected? Possibly. In any case for an AMEX lounge it definitely was lacking in 2 places: the bar and the seating. This is without a doubt, the smallest centurion lounge that I've been to. Really not that much seating compared to others, yet still much more accommodating than the average priority lounge. Service: They were transitioning meals at the time and so it took a good chunk of time before we could actually get food. The sign asked for 20 minutes to change over. Realistically, it shouldn't take 20 minutes just to swap out food. If that's the case, then you should leave up the previous meal service so that people can get what they need and leave if they're in a rush. Then just transition the food to the next meal when the food is ready. As for the table, it took a while to lock in a table and get it cleaned. We had asked the workers, whenever they get a chance to please wipe down a couple of dirty tables of people who had left but it took a while for anyone to come over. By the time someone had come, we already started just getting drinks. As for the bar, it moved VERY SLOW but I don't hold that against them. They had a combo alcohol/coffee bar. At the time it was one person running both sides so it took my family a very long time to get their coffees. Because of this, I decided not to get coffee. The woman working the counter did her best and she was so nice. Eventually another person came to help her so it started to move much faster. When she came over to the bar side the woman was able to pump those drinks out quickly. The downside to the alcohol side of the bar, it's not at the level of a typical centurion lounge. I'm used to a large full bar with plenty of offerings, and more importantly, its own cocktail list inspired by the location but this place did not have that. Maybe because it's technically a plaza premium lounge? As for the food I will say I was pleasantly surprised for the most part. A good selection of substantial food. Some of the foods include:"salads," cakes, noodles, a veggie dish with tofu, pizza and even braised beef bourguignon. Big negative mark for dirty forks.

I came just as they were transitioning meals so they were cleaning up the previous meal service and were bringing out a whole new set of fresh food. When I finally came up after they swapped all the food out, it turned out to be one of the most lacking lounge buffets I had ever seen. Don't get me wrong, I understand that this is an airport lounge. I understand that this isn't a full-fledged restaurant. But for a business class level lounge, I just expected a better offering aside from quinoa, salad and veggies. No alcohol either?? Even the lowest level of lounges have some kind of alcohol offerings whether paid or free. I'm being especially harsh because this is, in theory, supposed to be a more exclusive higher level lounge and they just didn't hit the mark. Side note whatever protein they put in their mid salad (tuna?), it was so dry chalky. I left QUICK to the Amex Centurion lounge. PS: even the Fiji Airport Priority lounge had better offerings than this lounge. Substantial food, coffee bar and alcohol (albeit on the smaller side)

The vibe here was laid back sports bar with a focus on beers, wine and simple drinks. Sadly, the beer list was short and standard (Australian macrobrews like VB, Carlton, etc.) The short food list was actually better than I expected, with a selection of apps (wings, meatballs), entrees (burgers, steak, salmon) and desserts. It was certainly enough to suit me, so I ate here for dinner and watched some local sports (continuing my increasing fascination with cricket). My burger and fries were pretty good, and just what I wanted. But after a few mediocre beers I decided to test the bar by ordering something basic. Specifically, I asked for an Old Fashioned (It's a never-ending quest). The young bartender got busy, muddling some fruit, adding sugar and bitters, before finally adding the liquor (which I couldn't see). The result tasted familiar, but strange...REALLY strange. I sipped slowly, but it never got any better. After about 15 minutes, the bartender proudly showed me the single malt scotch he made it with... [Insert Forehead Slap here]. No wonder it tasted strange - This drink is made with Rye or Bourbon only; and what a waste of a single malt! Dear management- you might want to think about training your bartenders to do something more than pour wine and beer.
