This little shop makes Main Street look a little brighter, and I remember getting $1 sun glasses from their little stand at third Thursday years ago that I still wear- meaning that they are active in the community. They also have beautiful jewelry and a chill atmosphere. Definitely recommend heading down the the Bench Shop, even just for a look around.

Above Oz n Bones BBQ you can grab lunch (discount with receipt) and climb the old staircase to the shop. You will find rooms filled with unique gifts and a friendly and helpful staff. We came on a day when lots of changes were happening, but were told that's things should be in place in about a week. Even with the work happening around us, we were able to find a few nicely priced items. We will definitely be back to shop; the ladies are offering DIY events and even a night of jewelry shopping. They have a good quantity of jewelry in stock and I described what I wanted and bright a picture of my gown in and the woman working in the store that day had many suggestions and items for me to choose from. Once I'd made a selection I checked out the rest of the store. What a great spot for those hard to shop for people! I'll be headed back for a couple of Christmas gifts for sure. Funny towels, tea accessories, fun jewelry, bags, decorations. Make a point to run in and check it out if you're in the area and in need of something special.

I started going to the Hampton General Store over a year ago when I was traveling through,…read moreprobably out of curiosity or nostalgic whim but, it now has become a regular stop over whenever I am on Route 6 or on Route 97 in Connecticut. First, walking in the door is a step back in time, to a period when people did welcome you, you are noticed. Secondly the food, especially the prepared food is beyond, excellent, surpassing exquisite. I am very busy and the preprepared meatloaf (WOW), steak tips, pork loin, Swedish meatball, various chicken dinners (too many to remember) and so on are a real treat. Well priced, plentiful and you taste the love. The store has great novelties, premade sandwiches, soup, jellies, chocolates, COOKIES and jams plue enough unique items to keep even the most apprehensive shopper in awe. AND, if the above were not enough, meet Buddy the dog. He is a staple at the store and welcomes you with a sniff, a smile and a paw. This place is not to be missed.
