A special person in my life recently died, and my children sent me some flowers from Dawson's. This florist is in an adjacent town, and I'm not familiar with it. They checked in to see if I'd be home, and then the delivery person came with an absolutely lovely bouquet of mixed flowers ... each stem is pristine, and a wonderful combination of colors and textures. This isn't a fancy place. It doesn't look like a regular florist shop. That's fine, because they do flowers and they do flowers better than anyone. I stopped in without an advance order. Our DIL just delivered our first grandchild, and I didn't know of any florists in town. I stopped by Dawson's, a bit hesitant at first because it looks a bit sketchy from the outside. But the proprietors were super nice and friendly, and when I explained my situation they were eager to help out, and created an absolutely stunning arrangement to celebrate our granddaughter's arrival. Price is on par with any good florist, but I was more impressed with the service, friendly vibe and low-key presentation. I normally buy flowers from here but the other day I received the worst tulips I have ever seen. I ordered them trusting I would get a beautiful bouquet but instead I received a bouquet of drooping tulips. I recommend this place to friends but I wouldn't recommend getting tulips. read more

I recently went to Dawson's to place an order for funeral flowers for a family member. The owners were very helpful and accommodating as I didn't want the arrangement to look like a typical funeral arrangement as catalog pictures showed. I was assured they would use a variety of colors and that I wouldn't be disappointed, and they were right! The basket arrangement they delivered was absolutely stunning! The assortment of flowers and colors they used were beyond my expectations. We brought the flowers to the convalescent home after the services and even the staff there said the arrangement was one of the prettiest they had ever seen. read more

My husband has purchased roses from them on 3 separate occasions and each time there has been something wrong with them. The first times was Valentines Day 2014. The roses wilted and died within 2 days. We called Dawson and they replaced the flowers. The second time was in July of 2014. This time the delivery person left the glass vase on the sidewalk in front of my house and drove away. Luckily my son looked out the window and noticed the car driving away and we retrieved the vase before it blew over. We called Dawson and they said it was a new driver. Apparently the driver didn't know leaving a glass vase with flowers on the sidewalk was a bad idea. The final time was Valentines Day 2015. This time the arrangement arrived and many of the flowers appeared to have freezer burn. After 3 days they started drooping and none of them ever bloomed. I'm sure if I called Dawson they probably would have replaced them, but why should I have to call them. They should get things right the first time, or in my case the second and third time. read more
