I just bought my first Brand new washing machine from Home Depot. It took 3 weeks to be delivered. When they showed up they just set the washing machine (still inside the box) inside the door and left. They had my son sign the paperwork that says "Delivery and installation!" They didn't set up anything and left it just sitting there in the box. They didn't give us the hoses which we were required to buy for $24.98. Who are these deliver fools! I have a ramp up to the back door so this should have been the easiest deliver ever! All of this means I can't wash any clothes until someone comes back on Monday to set it all up. This is the worst experience I've ever had with a delivery! I'm in my 60's and they just dumped the washing machine inside my door. I am including photos to what I came home to for proof. Two interactions in the past month. Both negative. Ordered a couple of Ryobi batteries. It took three weeks for them to arrive in store. That makes no sense. My in-store visit ended with a bored looking employee who refused to make eye contact as I was forced to use self check-out. Employees were milling around chatting, but no cashiers? So they have a decent garden section. i've picked up 3 plants from them now: 1) Snake Plant 2) Zebra Plant 3) Philodendron they also have a policy where your plant will be replaced if it dies (or if you kill it, with your brown thumb) within a year of purchase (keep receipt!) all of which are in good shape. Prices were good too. It's frustrating that the check out lines are only on one side of the store but i guess not much can be done about that. I placed an online order for curbside pick-up. My wife drove the 40 miles (80 miles round trip) in 100+ degree heat to the Yakima store to pick up the $7.51 item. After returning home, we discovered that Home Depot did not pick the correct item. After calling customer service and confirming their error, I was told their only solution was for me to drive the 80 miles a second time to return the item for a refund. I explained what inadequate customer service that was given the circumstances - especially in comparison to their competitors. Upon hearing this, they offered me a 75-cent discount on repurchasing the item that I originally ordered. Guess where I will avoid shopping in the future. read more

So...I'm rebuilding my deck this spring and having no pickup big enough to haul lumber in I placed an order with Home Depot to have the lumber delivered. It's a service they offer and even though you have to wait around from 6a to 8pm I was willing to do that to get this project moving. They called last night to confirm and I let them know where I wanted it dropped off (garage in alley). All was good. This morning Home Depot called and canceled my lumber order (because they said they only used a semi truck for deliveries and they couldn't drive it in my neighborhood). Funny...my neighbor parks their semi on the corner all the time. But nope, no deal. Won't come to my neighborhood...streets are too narrow. Nope, they have no smaller trucks. Order canceled unless I want to come pick it up myself. Most of Yakima is made up of streets like mine. How are they making ANY deliveries? Oh...and we'll refund your $962 in 3-5 business days. Anyway. After they canceled I called a locally owned lumber company who said it was no problem to deliver to my residential neighborhood, they delivered same day, unloaded in my garage, only charged me a $10 delivery fee, and saved me $345 on my lumber order to boot! Do not do business with Home Depot!!! They did a botch flooring install in two of my bathrooms and laundry room. Their installer ( HOM solutions) glued a click on laminate floor causing buckling throughout and voided the warranty of the product. He even glued and nailed wood baseboards to my tile tub and glued and nailed a wooden quarter round on the base of my shower. Also, they put glue on my hardwood floor when the glued the transition stick to the laundry room flooring. They have no integrity and they will not compensate you for damages. Had one of the worst experiences at this Yakima location. Being understaffed and not flexible to adjust the staffing plan accordingly was a real disappointment. Drove from Ellensburg to purchase a fridge and discuss some options with an in store sales representative turned out into 1.5 hr wait and speaking with the store manager About the situation. He was apologetic however, this situation negatively affects the companies reputation on customer service and does them a huge disservice when instances like this happen. Will not be returning here for any of my future purchases. read more

I'm in need of a specific item but cannot physically go get it myself so I am attempting to talk to someone in customer service to make sure the product is available before having them drive all the way into town. This location is truly a hit or miss. Every member of the lumber department that I have interacted with has been amazing and I cannot find one complaint about them. The department that needs some serious customer skills improvement is the door/special orders. It wouldn't kill them to possibly smile or say hello. We walked around looking at doors for 30 minutes with 3 people sitting at those desks and not one person bothered to ask if we needed help. I ended up going back to the Home Depot in Woodinville, where my other house is and ordered a new door. Horrible service - I rented a carpet cleaner here and the staff member I returned it to was rude and disrespectful. He was a twenty something kid with a beard. Told me he would charge me to clean it because the bristles were dirty. I explained that no one told me I should clean the bristles and they said just wash out the dirty water tank. I offered to clean the bristles myself and asked how to do it. He said he didn't even know how to clean it and I couldn't do it there or he could lose his job (yeah right.) Kept talking about how "he wouldn't risk his job for me" when I was just asking simple questions. Ironic considering he wasn't concerned at all about getting fired for his horrible attitude. it was like he thought helping a customer was against the rules. Eventually I started cleaning it by hand and another employee finally got annoyed with me and said I wouldn't be charged to clean it. When I have used them in the past at other locations something always goes wrong and you have to wait and wait for someone to clear the error occasionally i have to wait for a second opinion. If i could give zero stars, is what i would give for the home appliances section. The delivery people, specifically a guy named "Jankton" or "JnL" was very disrespectful to my mother. He said he had been delivering for 18+ years so to "not tell him how to do his job"however, before even arriving at our home he was already making excuses as to why he couldn't put the fridge we bought and paid extra to deliver, through a door. Mind you our door is as tall as our ceiling and were able to move our biggest furniture through our doors. He was even saying "you women" because my mom and I stood our ground knowing he could very much even attempt to even fit the fridge. All in all he ended up leaving our home not even attempting to unload OUR FRIDGE!! The customer service in holding this man responsible was ridiculous, no one cared. Usually we love Home Depot. The go-to place for DIY projects. However, we bought carpet with "free installation" in early October. Their only installer is Carpet Pros, which is who I have an issue with: carpet seams are too visible and installers damaged a door when they tried to force it open beyond the door-stopper. It has taken too many phone calls to get things repaired. Carpet was installed Oct 20th and, only after several calls, my seams were attempted to be fixed on Dec 19th (they still aren't acceptable), and as of Feb 16th I still don't have a door (despite more calls on my part). My gripe is that Home Depot seems oblivious to the poor performance of their installer. read more

I walked in hoping to find a part for my bathroom. I saw two employees by the self check out and asked where to find the part. I was told by one of them what isle the part was on. I Have been coming to Home Depot for over 10 years. I have during that time spent thousands of dollars in the Yakima store. My wife used to joke it was my second home because I was in the store almost as much as I was home! Not anymore! We recently purchased carpet and installation from this store. After almost two months waiting to get it installed, and many phone calls with their rude and non apologetic employees and Assistant managers we ask for a refund! I even asked to talk to the corporate Manager and they said they would have him call me that day. He never called! Guess he was to busy to waste time on the little guy that had just dropped 3,500 dollars on carpet! We have had another mutual friend that has been waiting for 3 months and counting to get their carpet installed! And still one more friend that went a month waiting to get his oven that was supposed to be delivered in a week! He also talked to many employees and assistant managers without any success! Do NOT buy any appliances from them. What they have in the store is just for show. They DO NOT have their own delivery service, they contract it out. So you can not even buy it at the store and load it up on your truck if you have one. I ordered a stove on 10/10/2020 and was told on Monday I would get a call telling me when it would be delivered. The call I got was an automated call, telling me it would be delivered the next day Tuesday between 2-6 pm. I made sure I was home and I got a call at 3:30 pm or shortly there after from the delivery guy that he would be at my home in 20-30 minutes. I had the number he called from on my cell phone. He NEVER showed up. So called a little after 4 and he would not answer the phone. Now I assume it was his cell number. Cell phones have GPS on them so no excuse for a no show and he could have called me. I called home depot store and they gave me the number to the delivery place, NOBODY answered the phone there. I called again the number that the guy called me from, NO ANSWER. Reminded me of a fly by night business. I spent so much time trying to find out where my stove was only to find the manager telling me they will get in touch with them and they will call me in the morning. They called me alright, instead of that delivery place making it right, no, I have to wait until Friday an they again will call me the day before to tell me the time, which I am sure is the same time they gave me the last time. 2 managers at the store told me a lady that was to get her appliance the day before mine, did not get hers either and it was the same excuse. They came and were not able to deliver it because nobody answered. Said they tried to call me and I did not answer the phone. Apparently according to the managers they are aware of all the problems with this business. I said and yet home depot keeps a contract with them? You are pissing off customers. I should have stuck with Bemis a mom and pop business, but they are more expensive and charge over 100.00 bucks to deliver and install and take away the old. When you are on a fixed income, you are lucky to come up with the money for the item. Bemis has their own van/truck. Home depot said they do not because they do not want to deal with product being damaged on delivery. Funny how Bemis does not have that problem. I got my dish washer from them. They even installed and took the old. I had extra money then. So folks unless you can buy it and take it out of the store, do NOT get things from Home depot. Oh yeah, they said they will give me 50 bucks back from my trouble. People who work and take time off to be home to do this, lost more then 50 bucks. When those delivery guys come IF they come next time, you bet your butt they are going to get their lying asses chewed out. And to think people like this want $15.00 bucks an hour. What a joke horrible service and then to accuse the customer instead of taking responsibilty for your own B.S. I called head quarters and filed a complaint. They said they were looking into their own delivery service, but it got put on the back burner and now they are talking about doing it again. I told them, yeah and how many customers have you lost. I've been going to this Home Depot for 15 years and the service is usually so-so but recently ordered new kitchen countertops after trying to do the same at Lowes ( a complete waste of time and an aggravating experience) and I was very impressed. My wife went to shop for a washer and dryer. Because our washer just went out. She waited over 20 min for somebody to greet her but nothing? She finally left and told me about her ordeal which in turn I called down at 9pm to get a price on a in store special she noticed during her visit, I was assisted by a lady named Ella in customer service who informed me that the store closed at 10pm and she could not get me a price remember I called at 9pm..tell me why she couldn't just run back and get me a quick price? They seemed annoyed when I asked for a certain cutout then complained in front of me for 20 minutes while looking on their computer which was what I had already done before going down there. She kept trying to argue like I did something wrong for asking for help. Eventually I had to leave and asked her to call me when she located them which she agreed and never did. Hire people that know what they are doing. I called the local store bemis appliance and they answered my questions within 2 minutes very politely. I decided to order online and pickup curbside since they're closing at 6pm and it's hard for me to get there before they close. I placed my order and received my confirmation pretty quickly. The instructions said to call before you arrive at the store so I decided to call while in route 'hands free of course'. I was told by the associate that I had to park at the pickup location and give her the parking number before she even looked up my order. Finally she took my order number and said they would have it right out. 15 min later I called back and Peggy told me that they're working on it. 10 min later called back and gave Peggy my order number again and she said I'll get it out in a few more minutes. I gave them 10 more min and called back. Peggy transferred me over to the pickup desk and they told me I was finally next. They told me curbside had been extremely busy. I told them I was the only one parked out there. I was told I had to wait a few more min. Finally 2 lady's came out with my 2 items. No wonder they're taking for ever. I want to like Home Depot more than I actually do. I love hardware stores - and Home Depot has a TON of options. They've got a great selection of power tools and quite a variety of most other items that you need for that Saturday DIY project. I personally use the Home Depot App when I'm in the store. It's got a great locating function that tells you what isle and bay a certain item is in. The staff is generally helpful, however it can be hit/miss depending on who you talk with. During my last trip, an employee helped me locate an obscure item very quickly, which impressed me. Other times it has been impossible to flag someone down. If you're looking for something specific, I'd recommend you search online before going to the store. There is a search function that allows you to lookup what is in a particular store that you specify. I've save a lot of time with that! You can also order items online and have them shipped to the store for free. In multiple experiences, the online ordering process is more cumbersome that just going into the store to find/buy your products. Recently when I was in, I ended up needing a different item that what I had ordered for the in-store pickup. It took about 10 minutes to process a return for an item that I hadn't even picked up. Yikes! I don't recommend it unless you have are grabbing a whole slew of items. Lumber, something I've picked up there routinely, is really hit and miss. Bring some gloves and plan to look through the pile to find the straight boards without knots. You can find it, but it'll take a bit of effort! Prices are average and the staff is friendly enough. I'd give it four stars except how bad the online ordering pickup has been for me. Overall, I like the app and it's helpfulness, but I can't get past the online ordering issues.
