Went to Home Depot to look for drainage rocks as well as smaller rocks / pebble for my houseplants. The drainage rocks came in various sizes and types and I was having a hard time deciding which one to buy. Teddy, one of the associates at the garden area explained where each Type/size is more appropriate to use which helped me decide which one to get. Teddy was extremely helpful and patient in answering my questions. He also offered to help me load the merchandise in my car since I'm elderly. last week I went to HD again to buy flowers . He came over and asked if I needed help since he saw me looking at the hanging flowers which was above my reach. He did not recognize me but I reminded him of how he helped me the last time I was at the store. Teddy is such a nice young man and Home Depot is fortunate to have him as Employee. read more

I own a house in Tobyhanna and am making improvements in preparation to sell. My experience with Home Depot was mixed: 1). Carpet and kitchen floor measurements (Poor) Home Depot requires that they measure rooms to order flooring. You can't measure it yourself. The wait for an appointment was over a week. The first appointment was cancelled at the last minute because the person called in sick. I had to wait another week for an appointment. The second appointment was cancelled at the last minute because the person called in sick. The measuring was done on the 3rd try. Total time elapsed was over 3 weeks. 2). First Carpet Installation Job (great) No problems with carpet installation. Carpet looks great. Price reasonable. 3). Kitchen floor (great) I had vinyl plank flooring installed. It came out great. Installation went well. Price reasonable. The delivery process was somewhat inconvenient. The installer could not bring the tiles to be installed. They had to be delivered separately. The first delivery attempt was cancelled because there was a moderate amount of snow in the driveway. I drove over it with no problem. Delivery was made ob second attempt. 4). Second Carpet Order (Totally Unsatisfactory / Order Cancelled) I ordered carpets for 2 additional bedrooms. 10 days later I've been calling to followup on order and try to schedule installation. Home Depot has problems finding the order. Says it doesn't exist even though I have receipt and charge to my credit card. Phone calls are dropped. Call backs are agreed to and don't happen. I just disputed the $2,000+ order charges with my credit card company. I spoke to Pam in flooring and she agreed to email me the measurements that I paid for so I can give them to another vendor. She agreed. No email was sent. Home Depot is affordable, but can be very difficult to work with if you need a project done quickly. I live in Delaware and am only near the East Stroudsburg store when I'm visiting my Tobyhanna House. Dealing with them by phone is a nightmare. read more

Yesterday my mom and I were in your Stroudsburg location. Mom was looking for outdoor rugs. One of your associates ,I wish I could remember her name, asked if we needed help! She helped mom make her selection ! Then she and another employee unwrapped the rugs and folded them so they would easily fit in my trunk ! They went above and beyond to help us and my mom was so appreciative! As we were putting the rugs in my trunk, Gary came by and retrieved our shopping carts! Overall, Home Depot in Stroudboug is an excellent place to shop. However, I went to the Door Installation department to have my exterior doors measured and hopefully installed by Home Depot. I paid $40.00 for that service. They sent a tech to my home, which I greeted nicely but didn't even get a " Good morning." He measured both doors and typed in a whole bunch of information without explanation. He asked me why I wanted steel doors, and I said it was my preference. He finished the measurements and left no good feeling at all. I received the quotes for the installation of 2 exterior doors for $1548.00. Also included in that price was an optional charge of over $300.00 without a clear explanation. I called Home Depot and asked them about the charge, and this clerk gave this confusing answer about "kick plates" and why it was a required charge, not optional. I said, "You expect me to pay almost 3K for door installs, and you can't clearly explain an optional charge, then you're telling me that it's a mistake and should be labeled "required." I am supposed to trust an installer who would make that mistake. Also, when I spoke to the clerk at the desk, she said installs are 500.00 per door, and the quote stated 515.00 per door. Why the extra 15.00 per door? Needless to say, what a rip-off. I would not use them for installs...EVER, and neither should anybody else if that is how you RIP OFF your customers. read more

I went to order carpet for my stairs. I paid $35 requested for measurements got the quote of 586.04 only to find the carpet I chose won't be available until May. Buddy in the flooring Dept. did not put in the 2nd carpet I chose and now I'm told the original carpet an installer won the bid. Now my money is in limbo and no one can give me a straight answer. This will be my last dealing with Home Depot. They need to hire people who cares and know what they are doing. read more

I went in to pick up an item for my son and DIL. the girl in customer service went out of her way to help me. This location has left me with a new found respect for Home depot. Gardening: I love deer but we are encouraged not to feed them. So not wanting to be the guy buying deer food I went to the garden section to seek a "subject matter expert" on plants that won't encourage deer grazing in the front yard. Looking around I noticed that I would have to wait for someone. After a few minutes and looking several plants Jasmin was available. she took me around and showed me on the tags where "Deer resistant" is shown. may not seem like much but it was a game changer. My next trip I was on a recon mission scouting out major appliances. while pursing through the aisles Kim asked If she could help, so I told her that I was looking for stuff. Her response surprised me. She suggested that I wait to purchase because the holiday sales were just days away. "Humm" I said to myself. I thanked her and pushed on. While strolling the aisles I was asked by several people if they could help me. I found everyone very up beat and professional. Making it to the register I encountered Elisha. We shared a laugh when she thanked me for my service, me; Proud to serve would still be there but they told me I'm too old so go and take a monthly check for the rest of your life. My 3rd weekly trip I came prepared to make my major purchases. I shopped both Home Depot and Lowes online. I compared make & model, prices product reviews, availability, and delivery. I can armed with one primary and one alternate for each appliance in addition to the SK and SKU and the in store item numbers. Upon arrival I saw Kim was busy. She noticed that I needed help and called over Chamali. Chamali asked how can she help. when I told her that I'm here to buy this and showed her "cheat sheet with the product information she said the hard part is done. This has gotten way too long, but my Home Depot experience with this Stroudsburg store #4127 was epic. I cannot comment on this store, since I have rarely gone there. However when I do go to other home depot stores they have terrible customer service and a great many of the tools carried there are cheap Chinese made junk. A perfect example would be today's Milwaukee power tools which are all Chinese made garbage and also owned by a Chinese company. If you are looking for well made tools, they do stock Channellock, Klein, and Stanley tools which most of these tools are USA made. If you desire well made Milwaukee tools that were USA made, search on ebay for these quality tools. They may be used, but are built to last forever. read more

Appalling and indifferent customer service. I placed an order for carpet install. They came to measure the space (charged me a fee) promising a quote within 24 hrs. I called for the next 4 days when I didn't hear back, but no one was ever there in the flooring dept. I complained to the store mgr JT who said he'd been hearing of other similar complaints. He told me to talk to Lorraine and then connected me to a non functioning voicemail for someone called Ron. I finally made the trip to store and found out they had the quote but never sent to me. While I was waiting, another frustrated customer shared this was his third trip trying to resolve a carpet order. I've never had a bad experience with Home Depot, I find it hard to believe they'd let a store perform so poorly. read more

Most unorganized and filthy Home Depot I've ever been to. Isles are so cluttered with ladders and boxes that it's hard to maneuver a cart or get to the shelf to grab what you need. I usually prefer Home Depot over Lowe's but the Lowe's up the road is a way better option at this location. One more thing, the checkout process here is completely inefficient. They have two workers ringing people out at the "self checkout" and no registers open. I usually enjoy my trips to Home Depot in Stroudsburg but this trip was a bit unpleasant! I first went to the outdoor plant area to get planters and pots. Well, make sure you are wearing a hat when you shop there. The birds poop all over everything and when taking a pot off an upper shelf, all this bird poop came down on my head and face. Not to mention my hands were covered in it from touching several items as I looked for what I wanted. Not pleasant! I can't imagine any store being able to stay in such conditions. It was hard to find anyone to help me locate my next item and when I finally found someone who knew what I was talking about, she would not leave her location to take me there. Took me a while to find the item myself. Finally, I prefer to use the self checkout, but there is now a cashier at each self checkout register! The cashier at the register I went to just grabbed the stuff out of my hands to scan it herself, and tossed all my items about in the cart. I prefer self checkout so I can handle my items carefully and instead I got this sort of treatment. No "hello, how are you" at the beginning and when she was done she just walked away without so much as a "thank you". From now on I intend to shop as much as I can at Steele's instead, where you get courteous assistance (and no bird poop)! read more

Wanted to buy countertops. Had to wait over a month. Delivered to wrong address by 3rd party carrier who lied about contacting us re delivery time (cell phones have call histories, DUH!) then falsified records by writing my address as destination. Unfortunately for them they posted a delivery pic which was obviously not my house. This is 2nd time we have had problems with major purchase from HD. First time was a seemingly endless extended warranty nightmare with an LG refrigerator (Spent almost an entire summer living out of a dorm frig). Cancelled order and asked for refund (which they won't grant until carrier reclaims items which I have doubts about ever happening). NEVER choosing HD again for anything more than light bulbs off the shelf. read more

I went to Home Depot in Stroudsburg PA at 6:30pm and I was asked if I needed assistance by one of employee's and she called someone who arrived in two mins to help me found the parts I needed for my broken kitchen sink pipe, his name is Cisco and he was very pleasant and patient with me. He collected all the parts that I would need to repair the pipe and explained several times on how to install it. I'm a female and had no clue how do this project , however with him giving step by step instructions , I was able to repair the pipe . Thank you very much! read more

November 2019 I go to HD Stroudsburg PA to return 5 cases of damaged flooring from a pallet of 56 cases I ordered and received in September. My online order confirmation says returning is simple, HD website says no problems for returning. I even stopped in the store in October to make sure I can return cases there from my pallet order and they confirm yes. I bring the 5 cases in and they don't want to do it since the online order was for a pallet. Eventually they ring up the 5 cases after they talk to the manager. But when taking my drivers license and processing the return, the transaction is denied. The associate ONLY mentions that I must be making too many returns. Since that's not the case, we get the manager to come over. I'd like to point out that in my career I blame the PROCESS, not the PERSON when a company screws up. I know the manager doesn't wake up and say "Today I'm going to demonstrate that Home Depot as a company has a small mind and no compassion" so there must be an underlying process issue for his actions that followed. He says "I see your receipt", "Your ID is flagged, there's a number you can call." I say great, let's get on a conference call right now and see what's going on. The manager refused, saying "They need to speak to YOU, not ME." HD's process is adept at escalating a situation and blaming the customer, but not skilled in considering various reasons for transaction denial or solutions. The manager says "We tried to help" as he stormed off and said "Your id was flagged, try using your wife's id" loud enough for other customers to hear. When I spoke with The Retail Equation (the 3rd party that approves/denies claims for HD and other stores) the next morning, they confirmed that the reason for the transaction being denied was HD didn't mark that there was a receipt and also they used a generic sku instead of the sku on the order. Nothing to do with my return history (1 return in 2017 for $32). They mention the HD store should have called them to get it resolved and re-processed at the time of denial, as I suggested to HD. It's too bad the process is having a system that is sold to HD to stop customer fraud so that's all the employees think - but it also simply flags transactions that don't fit into it's algorithm (returning cases from a pallet that was ordered). I called HD headquarters and they said I absolutely should be able to return them and seemed to be working with me at first, but after I sent pictures of the damaged flooring haven't heard from them either. One of the customer service associates at the store astutely pointed out that I got a discount by ordering a pallet so if they would give me money back for each case 'the company would be losing money". I mentioned we can figure the discount out. I saved $1.63 per case - so I guess one scenario is that I'm "gaming the system" for $8 haha. I don't care if they take $2 off per case, or $7 off per case, I just wanted to return my damaged flooring, which HD advertises is easy. I hesitate doing anything with the Stroudsburg HD store as everything seems to be a hassle. read more

I moved to the area last November & this is my nearest Home Depot. There's only 2 reasons I come here over any other place, my husband gets an army discount and Ted, the employee. Ted is so helpful, look for him instead of asking the customer service desk. Once I walked up to the desk and said excuse me... the two girls looked at me, turned their back towards me & continued talking to each other (and it wasn't anything having to do with work) I also had a carpet removed and a new one installed. But when they came to do the work they wouldn't take the old carpet with them. So I had to pay an extra $50 for waste management to come pick it up for me. read more

I was looking for a 10' dryer cord. Before you say anything, yes they do make them in that length and it is not against NEC codes. The electrical sales person kept insisting it is illegal, dangerous and Home depot does not sell them at that length. He was also reluctant to sell me 4/10 wire so I could make up my own cord. He said it would overheat and cause a fire. I told him the wire was rated for my use and to stop saying things he doesn't understand. After I purchased the wire, I went back just to show him the Home depot website. They sell 10 foot dryer cord part # 61259. read more

Home Depot has always been my go-to store for assistance, stock & value for over 25 years but Im going to travel further & pay more to support the smaller hardware shops because HD cant properly service their customers. Its one thing if they cant stock their shelves during COVID but its another when they can't calculate inventory. Too often I find product with adequate quantity online but when I get to the store, there's nothing there. Wasted time. Further, they changed all their cashier stations. I cant scan any small items without having to pickup a scan gun to scan every darn thing! I dont want to touch a scan gun when mitigating for the Corona Virus. Appears HD believes in herd immunity. He started yelling at me and he put his hands in my face. I asked for the manager and they did nothing. Customer went to register and came back to yell at me again and put his hands in my face. I've been here several times for anything ranging from new lightbulbs to new stoves/grills. The service is always great. There's a decent flow of customers, but it's never overly crowded and the lines are never long. They also have self-checkout lanes, which is nice. This Home Depot is clean and organized. There's plenty of staff working the floor if you need assistance, and in my experience, they've always been willing to help me locate things, find the best option, etc.. Parking is easy, as their lot is separate from the rest of the stores in the plaza. read more

I placed an order, oct 25th, pick up was nov 5th. i waited, no email ever came. i checked the tracking #, it was in the store by nov 1st. i called 9am, cus serv said it was there. i go to pick up during my lunch, Nobody could find my order. I had to wait 40 min for manager Jason to finish his lunch so i could talk to him. when he returned, I've never dealt with such an attitude before. He tells me to order it again and wait another 2 weeks for delivery, no appology, no nothing. . WTF? As customer service mgr, he should contact another store, expedite the shipping, SOMETHING!! Not just give me a damn attitude. Who runs this store ? when i got home, i get an email thanking me for picking up my order. ARE YOU GUYS KIDDING ME?? I'll just assume go down the block to Lowes. The absolute worst place going right now. Out of the two Home Depots and two Lowes between Stroudsburg and Easton, this one is the worst. First I had to search the parking lot for a cart for plywood boards. I get the cart and go inside with some moulding I needed to return. I skipped that line because it was out the door and into the parking lot due to only 2 people working the returns. I needed one plywood board to be cut down and had to search the store for someone to help. The 100 year old guy I find puts the board up to the saw to be cut and walks away. I stood there for about 3 minutes staring as he walked away, so i decided to walk away and continue shopping. I go back to the board and he has the nerve to give me attitude asking me where I went...Then the guy mumbles, "mark the board"...What??? Where??? What do mean??? He says tell him where to cut. I said, "I asked to take 2 feet off, you have the measuring tape." He gives me attitude again as he pulls out the tape in mid air (must be using some really old way of measuring). I asked for him to put the tape against the board then I will mark the board. After that 20 minutes waste of time I head over to the moulding aisle which they had blocked off with one customer looking at moulding. I asked the home depot worker (shocking to see one that available) if the aisle was for one customer at a time. Perhaps this was another stupid covid rule, but it was more sarcasm than a serious question. He said no, and that he didn't know someone was in the aisle. He said it was closed off because a forklift was being used in the next aisle over. After about 5 minutes I walk over to the aisle to see what could be taking so long, since the home deport worker said it would take 30 secs, and I see a guy who must've been 150. He had two stacks of lumber on the forks of a forklift which he took down from top shelf, set on floor, took one stack and set aside and the other stack he put at a lower level. This whole process took nearly 10 minutes. Aside from taking the stacks down I could have moved the stacks piece by piece faster than this turtle did with the forklift. Then I head outside to the garden section where another rocket scientist that works in this hell hole told me would be where I would find what I was looking for, only to find out from the guy outside to say what I was looking for was inside. I'm done...it didn't matter that I had more to buy, I was leaving. I took another pass by returns which did not look the line moved. I'm sure it did but the line was still out to the parking lot. So I trek on down to the opposite end of the store because I refuse to do self checkout since I believe in going to the person getting paid, and because I think self checkouts should give an automatic discount since an employee is not paid, and you do all the work. As I get to the other side of the building ONLY ONE person is working a cash register. This person was not as old as the other two, but close, and just as slow. Needless to say there was a line of about 7 customers...I almost fell asleep standing up...twice, since this wait was close to 15 minutes. I stated a lot of estimated times but it took close to 1 1/2 hours to buy one board of plywood, a couple pieces of moulding, and a barbecue cover. How this place stays in business is beyond me. And why anyone shops there is just as amazing. read more

Staff has always been super helpful, I've done a lot of customer service refunds and it's always been taken care of. Then a lot of the staff out and about in the store are always happy to help out as well. Place is clean and managed, as well. read more

I had a less that ideal experience with order online pick up at store at the Stroudsburg location. Curbside pickup was not available due to staffing shortages, according the customer service rep. Didn't find out until I got there. Email confirmation said that it was. Only 1/3 of my order was pulled. Two of the 3 items were out of stock in the 3 hours between ordering and picking up. They didn't even notice one of the items on the order was short when they gave it to me and had to refund after I pointed it out. It's a shame because I saw the identical item at another store running errands earlier in the day for 14% less but didn't buy it because I expected to pick it up at HD. They did agree to ship the other item that was out of stock to me for free so that's one positive. I live in a rural area and its a 40 minute drive to the store. It's not worth it to me to drive there and back to find the staff didn't pull all my items. I have other retail options that are closer or offer free or reasonably priced shipping (they wanted $35 to ship a trash can). read more
