Pretty good location. I came for paint and paint tools. Pretty typical pricing. We got two gallons (Boreal and Denim Blue) of matte paint which came out to about $65.00. Really recommend these colors for rooms or even just an accent wall. The service has always been pretty good here. Sometimes you'll get someone on their cell phone that looks a little bothered you're asking a question. It's close and convenient for me, therefore I'll keep using it. read more

I am always able to find what I need at Home Depot. Employees to help you sometimes is hard to find but when they help you, they always do it with pleasure. I normally get all my Spring plants from Home Depot as they carry Olson's Greenhouse and Proven Winners and their plant quality is excellent. I've been going to Home Depot for years. I've been very happy with Home Depot until today. I went in today to purchase some Dewalt items for Christmas gifts. As I entered the checkout line a Rep from Milwaukee Tools tried to hijack me to upgrade to their equipment. He was very persistent and made me feel like I was making a mistake buying Dewalt. I'm sure Milwaukee tools are great but I was insulted by his aggressive approach. I complained to the cashier and he said the guy was just trying to earn a paycheck. read more

I was on a tour of Home Depots across this great valley, in search of a peach tree. The reason is not important, but over the course of a week Is saw every single HD in the county, and this was my second to last. The peach tree was a bust (you really have to jump on it quicker in the spring, and what's left in June has been neglected and hit by the wind/lack of water/manhandling pretty hard. I did, however, also have to make my way inside and pick up a few things for a house project. For those of you dying of curiosity, they do indeed sell 1/4 inch zinc all thready, both in the handy 12" size and also a much longer rod. Add in a little bit of epoxy with a fine selection of sizes and applications and brands, and you have a successful project. It's not too tricky to get here off of Bangerter, once you're in, it's pretty much the standard Home Depot. I have seen them all in SLC this week and I'd be hard pressed to tell them apart much once inside with all the people. read more

Terrible service from the customer service department at this store , don't shop at this location , they put my family at risk with leaving a appliance in middle of my house . The also started to take out a appliance leaving wires water hoses just hanging , then said we need to check something and then just left with everything a mess!!!!! I said I had a 1 year old and this mess is a serious safety risk and they said we had insurance for that , to me that's child endangerment. I had to hire my own contractor to fix their mess , don't shop here as they could care less about your safety, kids, or your house . Have always experienced excellent service from Home Depot in Riverton, but the customer care I got today far exceeded my expectations. Thanks to Paul Lewis, I was more or less hand-cuffed with a return situation until I explained my dilemma to him. Paul heard me out and all the while smiling with my toddler and, long story short, he went above and beyond to make it right for my wife and I. By the time we left the store we had a far improved situation, as well as a free drink (thanks to the other gentleman whose name I spaced) and a big smile on our faces. This is my "home" HD location. I have had exceptional customer service at this location, but finding the associates to get this exceptional service can be difficult at times. The seem to have hired a lot of young employees lately, which is great, but they lack the knowledge generally needed for anything beyond pointing you in the right direction. That said, the front end is well staffed, its the lack of staff in the isles, where customers need more involved help, which tends to hard to find. read more

Attempted purchase a simple drill, found that they were all under lock and key, which is unfortunate but understandable. Found several associates whom were walking around on phones, so you go and stand near but not so near that one eavesdrop, but make eye contact so they pretty much know you need assistance. Then they continue their conversation and then just turn and walk away. WTF?.? Then you go up front and ask for assistance, they overhead page for that isle, no one shows. I practically jump in front of the next guy, only he doesn't have a key. But he's nice enough to overhead page once more to call his phone. Again, no one responds. Bottom line, if it's out in the open and you can find it, go for it. If you have to deal with rude and non existent associates, don't waste your time, Hell, Amazon is faster. read more

Thought I'd try online shopping with Home Depot for the first time. Ordered foam panel garage insulation. Panels came incomplete. Options offered were not satisfactory. Zero stars if I could. I ordered all new kitchen appliances. I asked 4 different people if they could take the hood fan out and install the over the range microwave, and was told yes by all 4. Their delivery/install person shows up, says he can't do it, and cut out my dishwasher then said he couldn't install the new one, or put back the old one. I was left without power to half my kitchen, no use of my kitchen sink/garbage disposal because there was no dishwasher hooked up so there was a hole were the hose goes, and then told by their install team i needed a box installed or I could "just cut a hole in my island" to plug in the new dishwasher. Thing is, there is a box installed, that's what the garbage disposal is plugged in to. He just needed to look. Home Depot said to refuse delivery if things weren't right, and the delivery guy refused to take anything back so now I have no working kitchen, with no power, no sink, with a dishwasher and a microwave in the middle of my living room. This Home Depot location is tucked away behind a group of restaurants and is not directly accessible from Bangerter Highway. The hours of this location are good. The staff is friendly and willing to answer all of your dumb home improvement questions. Some will even show you technique for doing the work, which is nice. I prefer this Home Depot over the nearby Lowe's home improvement store. There is ample parking available. You can even get a Nascar themed shopping cart for your kids. read more

I live about as centered between this Home Depot and the Lowe's to the North as you could get and regularly visit both. I like both stores, they carry similar stuff and are both handy when I'm in the middle of a project. If one doesn't have what I need, I try the other. I have a review of the Lowe's you can check out so I'll try not to get into too much of an over comparison, but it's kind of inevitable. It's like the way that mouse crap rolls down an inclined plane. You can buy the plank of wood and some other stuff to support it to test this theory at either store. For mouse crap - maybe try PetCo in the district? Er...okay, we'll that's got that off.....and now back to the studio for the rest of this review..... I admit I'm one of those people that really does not like to be bugged in stores unless I ask for help. I'm even worse in these places since I'm an engineer (and why my wife dreads walking into a Best Buy with me, but that's for another review!). I love the challenge of working out how to complete any project for myself, and trying to find the parts I need - I consider it a type of exercise plan meandering up and down those aisles until you come across that piece of plastic pipe you need 8 aisles over in the lighting section! For kids it's corn mazes, for adults - it's big chain hardware stores! Don't get me wrong, I know the folks are there to help. And there are times I do need assistance and will ask. But with this store, they just don't ask how you are doing first and then if you need some assistance, it's "what are you trying to do". And okay, it bugs me because I think they assume I can't work it out for myself and that's my pride kicking in and not their fault, but overall service in this store just doesn't quite make the cut compared to it's competitor for me. That said though - I do like the Home Depot. For plumbing and electrical supplies this store is generally great. I'm not so much a fan of it's yard/outdoor items, or its selection of weed killers or fertilizers. Lowe's is better. For lawn and flower bed treatment though - get ya cowboy ass over to IFA (Yee-Ha!). read more

Worst customer service ever!!! I'm a single mom trying to load a sod cutter in the back of my truck by myself... REALLY!!! (had a random stranger help me, thank you again you are a saint). When I called to say, "Hey my toddlers football game schedule was changed an hour later than planned and I need to change my reservation an hour (3 days in advance) they told me "Too bad!" When I asked if my brother could pick it up, (using all my info and giving his name as pick up), they said. "No!" Way to help your paying customers....not !!!! Because we bought a house in Riverton that required a complete overhaul, we regularly found ourselves at one of two places for the next two years...Home Depot and Lowe's. They're a mere one Bangerter exit apart from one another. Inventory and pricing-wise, to me they are virtually the same. To Hubby, the expert, they are vastly different. The most meaningful departure we've found between the two stores is the level of customer service. I have to give Home Depot a few props, though. When we first began our project, Home Depot was not even worth walking into. There was never anyone available to help - and if you were lucky enough to track someone down, they were way too busy chatting with co-workers to assist you. If you interrupted them, they were NOT happy. Forget about finding anyone who could mix your paint, or cut your lumber, or grab a lift to get a top-shelf item. It was a joke, and caused us much frustration. Within the past year or so, they've improved a lot. Now and again you can find someone to help. And now and again they'll even smile and act like they're happy to assist you. But, those bridges were burnt for me awhile ago. As long as my memory is intact, for my money I'll stick with Lowe's, who has always provided a great level of service. read more

I ordered custom blinds from this store for all of my windows. I had measured my windows myself prior to my visit, anticipating buying some DIY blinds off the shelf. The associate was very helpful and I actually liked the custom blinds so much more. There installer came and measured to order the correct sizes, which was great because his measurements gave the blinds a perfect fit in the windows. I did have to wait a few weeks between measurements and installation since the blinds were made to order. The installer came when the blinds arrived and installed them very quickly. They fit perfectly and look great! They have been up for two years now, and there have been no problems with any of the blinds despite taking some abuse from kids and dogs. read more

I love Home Depot. They have everything you possibly need. There aren't too many sales associates out on the floor, asking if you need help, but those who are there are very helpful. Ordered a microwave and paid extra for installation. The installation team arrived, installed, and left without saying much to me. Might have been a language barrier but I couldn't tell for sure. 23 days later I have to take the microwave down to paint my cabinets. That's when I found the horror. The installers stole the installation plate that came with the new microwave, and just used the one that was already installed, which didn't fit. So they drilled several extra holes in the cabinet to try to get it to stay up. I'm lucky it didn't fall on me. Home Depot says I only have 2 days to report installation issues so I'm out of luck. They won't take the microwave back even though I have no way to properly install it now. Do not use their installation service. You will regret it. read more

I like the depot because it's convenient and it usually has what I need. Its great as long as you dont have to visit the special kids in the customer service area. I think Comcast trained these know-it-some of the time kiddos on how to manage customers. If you do find yourself in line at the customer service area please do yourself a favor and ask detailed questions about your transaction with them. The kiddos won't explain anything to you about the Home depot's return policy which is cumbersome and retarded. Better yet do yourself a favor and go to Lows. I will read more

I am a frequent regular of The Home Depot who has to ask for help finding odds and ends on 90% of my visits there! I am always very impressed with the service and friendliness but today was an exception. I visited the Riverton location today and had to seek out 3 different employees to help locate the same item. All 3 gave me "look in this department" answers and did not lead me there or refer me out. I luckily found the item about 20 minutes into wandering down every aisle. This location lacks abundance of employees. Two of them even told me, "this is not my department". read more

I have a bad habit of going into here and other home improvement stores and taking a long sigh before asking a question because usually the associates just says no before looking or trying to help. I did this same thing today but this time I asked Tori. She completely surprised me and actually seemed bummed that they didn't have the part I was looking for. Instead of just saying no, she totally went over and Beyond and we found something that worked, it actually even worked better! Thank you so much Tori! So I've been a really big fan of Home Depot for some time now. However since they've implemented their new return policy is such a big let down that I don't think I'll shop there unless I'm forced to. I tried to return something WITH A RECIEPT. They denied the return because it was purchased with in store credit? Literally I couldn't return it even for in-store credit. It wasn't even opened. K-mart went out of business because of similar practices. Anyway it's not a hate review. It's more of a sad review. I used to really like shopping there. My home builder, when I told him about this said he stopped going there for similar reasons. Please fix this Home Depot. read more

Won't make another appliance purchase from this location. Service was all lip! Ordered a microwave in store. The store never called to tell us our item arrived, so we called them and were told our microwave was delayed and would be another week or so. We wait the specified time and call again, we were told it was in and ready for pick up. We go to the store only to be told it wasn't in and to call the manager because he wasn't there. We wait two days and call the manager, only to be told the guy rang it up wrong, that it shows we purchased and took it home in the same day. We explain everything to him, he went to check for our microwave thinking it arrived. Sure enough, it had arrived and was waiting, great, all we wanted! After the running and calls, I would rather not deal with this store. read more

We ordered cabinets for our kitchen remodel from Home Depot in Riverton. . The kitchen designer seemed unfamiliar with the design program and had a difficult time inputting our information. That should have been a red flag that we should look elsewhere. They insisted that we use their measuring service rather than trusting our contractor's expertise which turned out to be another huge mistake because when our cabinets arrived the cabinet over the cooktop was much too large and didn't fit. The they input the wrong ceiling height in the design program so our crown molding and fill for over the cabinets was 3 inches too short and they measured wrong for the side panels on our island. They were three inches too long. When we called to complain we were told that our contractor had installed everything wrong (he has over 16 years experience) we had to fight to get them to let us return the merchandise that THEIR measuring service had screwed up. All of these screw ups caused our remodel to drag on several weeks longer than scheduled. They were horrible to work with and offered no discount or apology for their mistakes. We will NEVER use their services again for anything but the most basic hardware needs! read more

This Home Depot is a brutal place to visit. I never go here unless the Lowe's down the street doesn't have what I need. Its dirty, cramped, the checkout lanes have no room to line up, it feels like they throw product wherever it fits. Good luck if you need help finding something. I tried finding a bathroom vanity that the website said was in stock and asked three different people for help - all three said they would find someone and never returned. The lack of caring is systemic at this store. They need to fire the entire management team and get some people in that care about what they do. read more

I went to this location last Friday, I asked a worker where wall paper was located, he was SO mean to me that I was almost in tears. He said they hadn't carried wallpaper in 15 years (but in a MUCH meaner and condescending way.) Another customer saw the whole thing and pulled me aside and pointed me in the right direction...and what do ya know, I found the wall paper! Glad a customer knew more than the worker. Then I pulled up a picture of an item on the Home Depot website, asked the paint guy "Can you help me find this item" and before he could even look at my phone, he just walked away from me down the aisle. Be ready to walk around a lot looking for someone to help you. If you need expert help its hit-and-miss. My grandma ordered a dishwasher and she scheduled a day with them and they didn't show up. Then they showed up today and said they couldn't install the dishwasher because it has cabinets.
