If you're looking for something specific or harder to find, you may want to save yourself the time and try a larger store. That said, for standard hardware items, basic fittings, and everyday needs, they usually have what you're looking for. It's convenient for quick stops, just don't expect a deep inventory or wide variety. Absolutely horrendous experience at Ace in Murray. Will never step foot in that store again and recommend you don't either, at least not for screen repair. Here is the ugly but true story. Took two screens in for re-screening. Was told it would take 2-3 weeks. I started calling at two weeks - they weren't completed until 6 weeks, although each time I called I was told "it will be the end of the week". At pickup, one of the screens was re-screened with thw wrong material. They blamed it on the kid who took the order not writing down the material requested, which made no sense because one was correct and one was incorrect. So, I had to leave that screen and come back - a 40 min round trip. When I went back for the redone screen, the expensive Anderson frame had been bent and the paint had been scraped up. By this time I was sick enough of these people that I took it home to see if I could straighten it out and use it as is. It turned out I could not, there was a gap between screen frame and window frame. I called Ace and talk to the Manager, Gary who said they would replace the frame but I would have to bring it back in for inspection - another 40 min trip. Then after holding the screen for another week, and me having to call him to get an update, he told me they would not replace the screen because they could not confirm that they had damaged it. Like maybe they would somehow have video of someone damaging my $190 screen. I made my displeasure known and Gary finally agreed to refund the cost of the re-screening and if I came back in to get the damaged screen - another 40 min trip. And he promised to have the next level Manager, Brendan call me to further discuss. That was two weeks and two calls to Gary ago, and no call from Brendan. Yesterday I took a nut into the store so I could replace the nut I misplaced. I looked for a nut the same size as the one I needed for quite some time. I found one that I thought might work and went to the cashier. I waited for my turn. it took so long that I realized the nut was too small in the middle so I went back and looked some more. Still there was no one around to help and I looked down different aisles to find someone so I had to go back up front. The same customer was at the front trying to get finished. I waited about 4 minutes more him to finally get done and asked for help. The cashier said he would call someone to help me. I went back and tried to find a nut that would work. I must have looked for another lengthy time. No one came so I went back and asked about some help. He said someone was coming. After all that waiting, the employee was making keys for someone else instead of helping me. I impatiently waited some more. When I showed him the nut I needed to replace and the one I found, he put both of them in one hand and started looking for a nut. He must have gotten them mixed up because after paying about a dollar and 2 cents with a Visa card and going home neither of the nuts that the employee gave me fit the bolt. He didn't even give me back the nut I took into the store. When I went in today, the same employee was there that helped me before. He accused me of leaving the store without paying because he said he followed me because he was not finished helping me even though he gave me tso nuts and said they were exactly the same. I believed him but he didn't even know what he did. When we walked back to the area, I picked up a nut off the counter because it looked like the same one I took in yesterday. It fit the bolt I had. It had to be my nut that I brought in. The employee was totally incompetent by not sizing the correct nut. Apparently he didn't even listen when I told him which one was mine and which one was the one from the store I thought would work. He left the one I brought just sitting on the counter all evening and the next day. Customer service was very shoddy and extremely rude making me wait three different times and claiming I was a shop lifter. Like who would just walk out with less than 2 dollars in merchandise. AND I paid for a nut that I did not even get. I left both nuts that did not fit the bolt at all on the counter since they were totally useless to me. I did not realize that the employee had placed one of the nuts on the bolt so I assumed he had kept one nut but at least I did fine the other nut once I left the store. So much for using a non big box store that is in my neighborhood. It was a simple minor request to just get a small nut for a small project and the nutty employees made it into a huge mess. I do not see how I can ever return to that store again. Shame on ACE EMPLOYYEES for a disaster over a dollar. Disgusted Maybe they will prosecute me now for stealing a nut that I didn't even steal but actually paid for without getting anything. Don't use Ace read more

To be honest I was just wasting time while I was helping out my neighbor but the sales girl in Ace was so very friendly that I ended up buying a number of barbecue supplies that I don't need but I found that are very nice to have! read more

Awful service. We had a pickup order way too long after they promised the order would be ready we decided to call to see what was going on. They told us "we have a bunch of those in stock just come by and call us and we'll bring it out." We drove for 45 minutes across town. When we got there we called (as instructed). They told us "we don't have any of those in stock". We reminded them that we confirmed before we came and they said to come in. He said again "they're not in stock, do you want me to cancel your order?" No apology, just a statement. We then asked if we can have it shipped to our house. He said "no I can't do that... do you want me to cancel it?" Now we are driving 45 minutes home furious at the rude person we spoke with, without the product we ordered. Avoid this place. read more

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Ordered 4 lawn chairs online, and went to pickup last week. 1 of the chairs was broken, and the associate that brought me the chair asked me what I would like to do. I asked what I can do, and she said they would order a new chair and I could take the broken chair since they couldn't sell it. I asked how I would get the new chair, since I have already "picked up my order", and there was no new receipt given; only one receipt stating my items were picked up. The associate said that they would just call us sometime this week to pickup the new chair. A week goes by and we hear nothing, so I call the store myself yesterday to see if I would be able to pickup the chair or if the previous associate was mistaken, and the associate I speak to says that the chair has been here ready to be picked up. No reason offered as to why we weren't called like the first associate said we would be. Which brings us to today. I go in and say that I was picking up the chair. The associate I speak to this time asks for the broken chair. I tell her that I don't have it and the first associate never told me to bring it back. She says that the only to receive the new chair is for the broken chair to be returned so they can send it back as a broken item. Why didn't the first associate tell me this? Why did she make it sound like I could either take the chair or it would be thrown out? I felt bad for leaving it, so took it so they wouldn't have to throw it out, and this happens. This was the only location I could find that offered pickup of these chairs, but it was not worth the 35 minute drive from my house. Never making the trip back out here, and never going to Ace Hardware again. Will just stick with what's in stock at nearby stores in Herriman. read more

My husband and I went in to find power washing supplies, and an employee named Dave was super helpful and polite. Initially, he didn't know where the items were but he didn't stop until he found them near the front of the store. He walked around with until the items were found. He genuinely made a point to give us such good customer service, so I asked for his name, and left a nice note for his manager. I was compelled to write the note , especially after the other employee (that we'd originally asked for help) acted indifferent towards us. In fact he pointed us off into an entirely wrong direction in the back side of the store. His mannerisms indicated he didn't know or care much about anything. Such a stark difference in the two employees. We are appreciative of the new ACE hardware store being in our East Murray neighborhood. It's nice to finally have an ACE in my neighborhood. When it comes to fasteners, this place has things I can't find anywhere else.

On, March 27, 2020, I walked into Ace Hardware in Murray, Utah and picked up rubber cloves and a metal file. The Rubber cloves were for a few groups of people including a Homeless Shelter and medical first responders. I went to the cashier, who I asked, with my friend that was with me, "to scan the products without touching them please, as I am striving to be a cautious as possible." Ciara the cashier at Ace Hardware at Murray, Utah asked me what my deal was and told me I was over reacting about the virus. I told her I was not. She then said, "what is my deal?" I responded, "I will not buy these products from here." She [Ciara] put her middle finger up at me and said get out! I said ok, but can I take a picture of you giving me the middle finger, she did again, and I took a picture the 2nd time and she said, "now get the hell out of here." I asked for the manager, who came up to me. The night manager, came up to me and told me to get out, not knowing the issue or my concern. I tried to explain, which I had to explain on the sidewalk. He said the virus is not that bad. It was clear they do not care about their costumers or the virus. The manage of the store an older white man, told me, he did not care what the issue was and called the police, which I waited for and told them about the issue, and the Police, said that is not something you call the police over. Ace wasted police time and resources. I then went over to Home Depot on 1300 South, South Salt Lake, Utah and they had tape, fences, and signs noting to be cautious about the virus. Home Depot also had a sign coming in the store that said "For the health and wellbeing of all individuals, please maintain a safe distance from one another while shopping and waiting in line. Thank you for your cooperation. The Home Depot." The employees at Home Depot also had rubber cloves on and were constantly cleaning the register and shopping-carts because of the virus. I got the cloves at Home Depot, gave them out, and am helping prepare food to those that are unsheltered in Salt Lake, Utah now. In short, Ace, needs to be more inclusive, welcoming, professional, educated and understand about the global crisis that is going on. I teach criminal law, criminal justice, conflict resolution, and social issues and must say people that do not know how to address conflict are the one's that typically are the most volatile like Ciara. I am not saying fire her, but train her and other staff to work effectively and professionally during this global crisis. I also know there are a lot of hardworking people looking for work right now.
