I went to home depot to return an item. Parked in between 2 curbside pickup spots which had no pick up sign. Karen that was working at the return desk comes storming out the store and approached me with her angry face wanted to know if I was waiting there for a pick up. I said no im returning something and this is not a curbside up spot. Then she goes marching back into the store with her angry face. I go to return at another desk then go back to my car. As I'm sitting there KAREN comes back out with another guy and yells out I HATE WHEN PEOPLE PARK HERE!!! Then she tells the young man to move the sign to where im parked. I've shopped this Home Depot since it arrived in the valley. I also shop other big box stores - we have a huge shopping plaza now which has ruined the small town of Kalispell but I guess is needed to attract tax money for the city. I've done secret shopper visits and I've visited every section of this store. Sometimes I've asked for big orders or hard-to-find items. I've even ordered appliances, lots of lumber, you name it. You know what I've observed? The employees try their best to help. If they don't know an answer, they find one. Another thing I noticed? The customers and contractors (especially from out-of-state) are insanely rude. I watched one old lady verbally beat down a young girl who was trying to help her with carpet. Why? I've travelled to Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas and Denver. Big cities bring big egos and attitudes, and rude behavior. The new arrivals in Montana need to understand WHY they are moving here. Your big city rudeness doesn't float with Montanans PERIOD. To the woman who had to dig up her plants to return them - HOW does Home Depot know that you're not trying to plant your garden on its dime? And if all the plants are dead AFTER YOU planted them, how is its the store's fault? Maybe gardening isn't your thing. You're lucky you got a refund at all. These privileged elitists are moving here, thinking everyone is their personal slave. I've seen this behavior at fast food places and restaurants too. Please keep your big egos to yourself, realize why you moved here, and learn to assimilate. TRY to be friendly, knowing that the reason they are working there is probably because you are displacing them out of affordable housing and they HAVE to work there. LEARN to slow down. Not many people wanted you here in the first place. If Montana's speed is not up to your liking, you are free to move back to that state you came from. To everyone at Home Depot - I see that you are doing your best. It's got to be exhausting - retail is one industry I would never want to work in (I'd probably get fired for tearing down a rude customer - lol). You all make the wheels turn in our economy. Ok I hesitated on 5 stars but we've always had great service here but once when we bought a lot of OSB board and couldn't haul it ourselves so there's a $79 charge to deliver which is fine but one employee tried to charge extra because of where we live and when I said online it said $79 not $120 she changed her tune. What the hell. We went to purchase a freezer and they didn't have one in stock and were going to charge to deliver. I told them that the other big box store across the street had them in stock and didn't charge to deliver. So they waived delivery and I got 10% off if I wanted to wait 2 weeks. That was no problem since it wasn't a item we needed that day. Brett is always there helpful and happy to find what we're looking for and gives great suggestions. We'll always shop here. We had a horrible experience- spent 45k in two months and they will not take back extra lumber that THEY special ordered to have enough. They never informed us of this or that it would not be returnable because of it. It is wrapped and everything. My partner has a pro account as a contractor and has spent a half million dollars there in the last 5 years. They absolutely do not care that we will no longer work with them. We ordered a washer/dryer set from this HD and Mike in appliances was very helpful, took his time explaining everything and made us feel comfortable with our large purchase. Just had the set delivered today, was a little later than said time but Amy at the delivery desk number was on it and got back to us quickly letting us know where our delivery was. Jeremy and his co-worker who delivered the set were friendly and efficient, setting up units quickly and doing test runs on them. Set is in perfect condition. As a former HD employee (different location) I've seen how screwed up things can get but the folks at this HD do their jobs well...and they follow up! read more

The return policy for plants per the website says a receipt is required but the lady wants all my dead plants I suppose. So, instead of making a customer happy I will have to make the 30 minute trip home to dig up dead roots- since their plants are terrible apparently and the perennials all died. I am a huge Home Depot fan but I will not be back to this one except to get my money back with a trash bag of dead plants. Hopefully the same lady is there tomorrow so she can sort through muddy roots. On top of that she was rude to me- terrible... waited in line for 20 minutes for awful service. Home Depot needs a new manager. We were looking at stoves and the manager (she had glasses) had to take over because the guy helping had an emergency with a family member. She seemed annoyed that he had to leave, and even more annoyed that she had to start helping us. Not only that, but she didn't really know what she was doing. I'm pretty sure she was pregnant, so I can definitely empathize with her, however, especially if your manager, you should be friendly to your customers. And also if your manager, you should at least know a little bit in each department. We will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

I walked in to the Kalispell Home Depot in need of a refrigerator. Ours died and it is kind of a problem. The guy in the appliance department was there, I said hello, he said how are you and I said "I would be better if I had cold food in my house". He said, "When? You want to bring it home today?" and I said "No, I would need it delivered and installed." He said, "Well, it's gonna be at least a week." And then he just stood there. I said, "Can I still look?" and he said "Well, yeah..." so I walked over to the refrigerators and he disappeared. I looked at a few floor models, opened some doors, checked some prices, and when I had a question, he was gone. So I left. But not before telling the nice lady in the cabinet area that someone needed to know that his lack of interest in helping someone in need, that the only thing he said was "It's gonna be a week" was a problem. Mr Appliance Guy? Well, you just helped yourself right out of a customer and right in to my Yelp review. I am gonna go back to Brad at Lowe's. read more

NEVER BUY APPLIANCES HERE! We ordered a fridge from this Home Depot September 2021; from the moment it was delivered it had issues, we spent a few days trouble shooting as it was freezing all of our food and making tons of loud sounds. We contacted Home Depot to return it and they wouldn't accept it as they have a 48hr return window on appliances. They told us to go through the warrantee process with the manufacturer - which has been the biggest headache. We've spent hours going through their automated phone system, begging for help and now in Feb 2022, we still have a broken fridge and no repairman can fix it due to back ordered parts and supply chain issues - so far it's been six months with no working fridge, no one will let us return it or exchange it, and no one besides me cares. I feel 100% robbed by this store. read more

Ugh... I'm so frustrated. We ordered carpet for our master and guest bedrooms. We had a bit of drywall work done in the master that we knew we needed to get done before installing new carpet. We ordered the carpet toward the end of Feb and were surprised, but happy when they scheduled installation on 3/17! We rushed the drywall we to ensure he was done by 3/17. The master was already cleared, but we cleared the guest room and got it painted in time for the 3/17 install. To our great disappointment they (the Home Depot installer) called the day before and said they had not received the carpet. In the meantime our only 2 bedrooms are dismantled and our family room looks like an episode of hoarders. They re-scheduled us for installation on 3/29 with the understanding that if the carpet didn't arrive they would move us out it 3/31. We called them to find out if it would be happening, and the installers told us they didn't have the carpet and didn't have control over when it would arrive. We called Home Depot to find out if they had a line on the carpet shipment and they told us it would be on the truck arriving 4/1. They rescheduled us for installation on 4/3, but on the morning of 4/2 they wake us up with a call asking if we want our carpet installed today, a day early. YES! a thousand times yes, we can finally put our house back together! They told us the installer would be there in about an hour. We did the final clearing of the room, removing clothes from the closet and stripping the bed. Three hours later the installer had not shown up so we called the coordinator. She said she hadn't been able to get in touch with him his cell was going directly to VM, and didn't know if he would be showing up at our house.... just in case... when would our next availability be? The following week, Tuesday or Wednesday? What? We completely lost our Saturday appointment? So you offered us a day early and because of that you are now pushing us to the following week? Now I think you are just screwing with us. Crud, so now I have to put our guest room BACK together to live in it for another 5 days, and our family room remains a shambles. Would they even have called us to tell us they were no-showing our job, if we hadn't called them? I'm not disassembling my bedroom again until I see a truck in my driveway. But honestly, as strange as they have been behaving I'm not sure I want them in my home, this all seems so sketchy. So disappointed and tired of living in disarray. read more

The initial appointment for installation didn't take long to make happen, but they must have measured wrong, because they shorted us about 24 square feet. Now that they got our money, we can't get them to come back to finish the job. Our closing date to sell our house is a few weeks away, and we keep getting the runaround from the store staff. I recently visited Home Depot in Kalispell and spoke with Dawn, who is the assistant manager for the store. We found a oil and gas cap that they were unable to find a price for. They were unwilling to sell the item to us as they stated they didn't have a item number. I know from working higher up in comparable markets that they can sell the item under a misc item number. Dawn was completely unwilling to work with my wife and I even though we were willing to pay a premium price for the item. I would not suggest this store to anyone for their customer service. We went in on Black Friday not for any advertised items but to purchase insulation and wood...exciting I know. We went to the Special Order desk since we wanted it delivered. We had the pleasure of having Patrick the Assistant Manager wait on us. Since our purchase was over $1500 he told us about the Pro Desk and walked us to the desk. He was helpful front start to finish. We shop here often and everyone is very helpful. Today Patrick went out of his way to assist us and Jessica checked us out. She was very competent. We have been remodeling our home forever now, and it pains me to say that I probably know the whole staff at Home Depot way to good. The whole staff is extremely helpful and more than willing to give a remodeling novice like myself a lot of great advice. I've purchased everything from wood, drywall, electrical wire, outlets, lights, fans, doors, and tile. When I started the house remodel my skill set was watching the house remodeling shows on T.V., and to be honest my skill level is maybe 2 steps up from that now. Terrible experience. Ordered a washer and dryer set back on September 30, 2017, was told estimated delivery date would be in 2 weeks... around October 17. October 17 comes, and we don't hear nothing. Wife calls the store and whomever she spoke with was unhelpful , just saying the estimated delivery date is just that, an estimate and it usually takes a few days after for delivery. And, there's no way for them to check the warehouse to see what the status is. Well, 3 weeks after placing the order, we stop in the store to see if we can speak with someone about it. Unfortunately it was a Sunday, and the gentleman Mike, said he'll make notes and have someone call us on Monday. Monday is here, no phone call, so I stop by the store. I get some help from Dallas, but she is not getting any luck trying to track down the order... another employee does chime in and says that the particular make I ordered ( Samsung ) takes up to 3-4 weeks for delivery. Well, basically I left the store irritated, but was told the appliance should arrive in the store this week, and they'll expedite the delivery to my house...and that a manager will follow up and contact us. Doubt that! Headed to Lowe's right now! Consumer tip- Lowe's has much of their display inventory in stock and available for next day delivery. I ordered a $3400 fridge on 4/8/21. Told that it would take 6 weeks. At 10 weeks, called the store and was told that it was there; that no one knew how to get in touch with me (the bill arrives just fine...). The delivery date was set for 3 weeks down the road. On the date, the delivery person called and refused to deliver the fridge due to extensive damages. The store gave me $45 off for the delay and $400 off because they had to reorder a new fridge. Or I could just take the damaged one. We reordered and the second fridge arrived in 4 weeks. Again, the delivery man called and said the this one was damaged extensively as well. He could "take a few bucks off" if I would just accept the damaged one. I stated not for a appliance that cost that much money; I expected a new, undamaged refrigerator. He said he'd have the store contact me. This time, they reordered and when the store manager was asked about what they were going to do, she replied, "I don't know what to say." I only know that this store has had my $3400 dollars for over 3 months. Money that they will not return, money that they have collected interest on and used for their profit. I have no money nor no fridge. And the store manager is unable to say anything. I would say do NOT purchase a major appliance from Home Depot, do NOT pay cash for anything from Home Depot, and do NOT expect any level of customer service from Home Depot. Went in 2 weeks ago (weekday morning) to purchase a lawn mower. I had my 4yr old in a cart while I was there. Several clerks were walking down the main aisles while I was looking, but none asked if I needed help. Looked around for about 5 minutes before I finally found a clerk & asked him to help me because, although I found the display of the one we saw advertised, the box area under it was empty. The clerk scanned it & told me there should be about 10 in store, but he didn't know what top shelf they were stored on. After about 7 minutes he came back & looked at the top shelf above the display again & said he missed them & they were right there. They closed off the aisle & got the lift & 3 other employees came to assist. After another 10-15 minutes they placed the box on the floor of the aisle & looked at my 4yr old in the child (car) cart & said 'you'll need another cart to get this' & walked away. The lawn mower was left in the middle of the aisle! I went & found a flat cart & came back to get the lawn mower & all 4 of the employees had left the area. I'm 5'5/125lbs & capable, but it's a little different when I have a pre-schooler in tow & no longer have a cart to put him in. Another customer, who had seen this came over & helped me load it on the cart. I went up to pay for the lawn mower & was never asked if I needed help loading it or anything! Thankfully, I had a co-worker checking out in the next aisle & saw what was going on as I was headed out & offered to help load it in my vehicle because the employees obviously weren't much for customer service! read more

Temecula Home depot had been my store for the past 10 years. I've completed several projects on several different properties. I've loved the service and wouldn't have gone anywhere else. I've made two large purchases within the past 6 months at the Kalispell location, both of which didn't live up to my expectations or the promises made by the store. I normally don't have an issue shopping at the Home Depot. I know what I am looking for and rarely need to ask for help. The first time I went into this store was for new locksets and keys. Nobody in the store could re-key the locks I wanted (despite signs advertising the service), so I bought a different set. The next time I returned was to get a spare key cut. Of course it didn't work when I got home. I also bought a pruner there that broke from a faulty rivet on the first use. Even though the package said right on it to return it to HOME DEPOT, they refused to return it because it had been discontinued. My final trip there, I selected a bookshelf that was on display. It was assembled and the last one they had. I asked if I could pay for it and pick it up when it was disassembled enough to transport. The store was not at all busy and there were employees standing in the aisles talking. The manager said they had just assembled it a few days ago...as if that was a reason for them to say no. I have purchased display units from other Home Depots and had them offer to have it ready for me later that day. This store and it's management is consistently unwilling to help and frequently out of key items. read more
