Bought a refrigerator in store, when it was delivered there was damage to the door. I called the Canton store and they told me to call 877-961-6683 to make a claim so I have talked to 3 different people and issue is still not resolved. The 1-800-455-3869 and 1-877-961-6683 say its not their problem. Called the store back and Brooke offered a "resolution" that does nothing to help, she offered a box truck to come and get it but will not refund shipping charges. All that I wanted was for the store to order another refrigerator and deliver to the store and for them to send a truck with an undamaged refrigerator and pick up the damaged one. Is that too much?? I have been a Home Depot customer for a very long time. That ends today. BUYER BEWARE!!!! read more

I was a long time patron of Lowe's and still go there occasionally. This year however, during a major renovation including our kitchen, floors, walls, lighting, and first floor bath, I was led to Home Depot for one thing or another. Our experience online w deliveries as well as with staff at the Portage location has been exceptional. So excellent that we've shifted all of our preferred business to Home Depot. They are substantially better in the customer service- STAFFING- and helpfulness than Lowe's and our experience is great! read more

I've been doing some updating and repairs lately, so I've been into Home Depot quite a few times in the last 3 months. Each time I was there an employee was a huge help in finding an item, helping me decide between two items, getting a large item into my cart and into my car. I told one employee that I wanted a quart of paint to paint a vanity. After asking me some questions about the vanity, she handed me a sample size jar of paint that was enough for two coats and saved me about $15 on the cost of a quart of paint!! While walking around the store (with an I-don't-have-clue-what-I'm-doing look on my face) several employees asked me if they could help me! What better service could you ask for? Extremely disappointed that nobody was enforcing it at all and still a high percentage with no masks or some wearing their masks below their nose and or both nose and mouth, why bother! My wife and I bought a new Kitchen Aid dishwasher. We opted for on-site installation. The delivery team took about one step into my kitchen and decided that they were not going to install. The cited the fact that the dishwater was not in close enough proximity to the drain line. I explained to them that wasn't accurate, and that the drain line was behind an access panel in my cabinets no more than 24" from the dishwasher. I even went so far as to explain this to the person manager who he put me on the phone with. It seemed apparent that the delivery team had no desire to install the dishwasher, which I ended up doing myself. To add insult to injury, I was told upon scheduling haul-away of my old dishwasher that I just needed to leave the old unit on the back deck with a note that indicating that the unit was ready for pick-up with a signature and date. I was told that I did not need to be home, or take any other action. I work from home, and was on a call when they came by. I went outside to find a hanger on the door indicating that they had come, and gone - but my old dishwasher was still on the back deck. I called the number for the pick-up driver, and was basically given the indication that he was a contractor, had many other pick-ups and that I had essentially missed my shot. I understand the need to contract out services, but at the end of the day, Home Depot needs to know how they are being represented. On the plus-side, my Kitchen Aid dishwater fit perfectly and runs great - just wish I had the time back that it took to install it. Conversely, the carpet installation team from Lowes (also 3rd party contractors) were courteous, professional and did a great job. Probably looking to Lowes or other Vendors for all major purchases going forward. read more

Person assigned to the tile section actively avoided us... but random associates with a pallet mover came to our rescue and were really helpful. Even though we stated we didn't have enough tiles and openly debated what other locations to go to... no one offered to help. Used self check out since the line for the only register that was open was soooo long. The person assigned didn't offer to ring up our multiple tiles even though we were the only person in self check out... he just sat there and watched to be sure that we scanned each 1 foot mesh of small tiles. I guess that is why the other customers didn't want to use self check? We have had better luck at several other locations in the area and would only come back to this location if items were on hold at customer service after a stock check from more helpful locations. read more

I bought a fridge for a rental property. I am advised that I will get a call thirty minutes before they arrive to the home. The first chance for the delivery they called me while they were already at the property so naturally I missed them. I then had to wait til the next delivery which ones two weeks. I was advised agin of the 30 minute before the delivery phone call. Instead it was 5 minutes and no chance I could arrive. My tenant however was present and they advised her to sign the paper work that they were their to deliver. This is not the case however this signature avoids your ability to return the appliance and frees them of Actually installing it. This is the second time they refused to install on third floor apartment. Saying item would not fit. I advised Home Depot I wanted to return item but they said since tenant signed major appliances are not returnable. So now I have to Figure out what to do with the fridge. read more

I bought $4300 worth of doors (2 steel entry/2 storm doors) from THD on 8/31. They were supposed to be installed prior to Thanksgiving but installation was scheduled for today, 12/3/18 so I took a day off from work. The installer arrived shortly after 8am as scheduled. Right away he made a point to tell me that there was damage to one of the entry doors. He showed me several scratches in the finish of this custom made steel door. I refused to accept the door and decided to refuse the entire order because I was not going to have the storm door installed but not the main door. My options, according to Home Depot: 1) reorder the door with a 90% chance the new door would be the same condition with another three month wait. 2) Take a discount and get the door repaired myself. 3) Cancel the entire order. I opted for cancellation since there were no guarantees and very little understanding on the part of THD. I heard horror stories about buying from THD but foolishly did it anyway. Please learn from my mistake and take your business elsewhere. 3 months of waiting only to deal with this train wreck. read more

I did the free mail in water test Home Depot was offering and filled my sample with bottled water and just got a phone call saying my water isn't safe to drink. Haha! I was doing this before I sent in a real water sample to see if it was a scam or not. First - Dee and Brian in flooring are great! They get FIVE STARS. Now the bad - we contacted Home Depot because we didn't want to deal with removing old carpet and moving our furniture. They have a promotion that does this for free (kind of). When we went to schedule our measurement, they were at least three weeks out. We decided to buy the carpet with seven-day installation because we needed it sooner. The person came out to measure and was there a long time. She came on a Monday and we didn't get our quote until late Thursday afternoon. There were $858 of extra moving fees for furniture. They don't move certain things but couldn't tell me specifically what these things were (other than "complex beds" ,entertainment centers and TVs). We are pretty sure that two of the entertainment centers are a dresser that a TV sits on and a narrow bookshelf with record albums. The measurement person told them we would not allow her to take pictures. She never asked. There were also several inaccuracies on her list that were added to the price. Luckily, Dee and Brian at the North Canton store figured things out and we will move the $800+ items that we are "pretty sure" they are talking about. This morning they called to schedule the installation. They suggested we take all pictures off the walls so they wouldn't damage them. They also informed me that they would only move items that have empty drawers. So we either have to empty the drawers or remove the drawers and find somewhere to put them. How many people buy carpet and have furniture with empty drawers? Any electronics have to be moved by us, as well as lamps and mirrors. So I guess the morale of the story is that nothing is really free! They might be moving some furniture but for the most part we probably could have gotten this done by a flooring store and had a whole lot less hassle. I have always liked Home Depot and we buy a lot there, but I am very disturbed by the hidden things they weren't told to us up front. read more

If I could give a zero I would! We ordered a washer/dryer from this facility on 11/26 and was given a delivery date of 12/7 with pickup of both of our old. We paid in full on 11/26 and our check was cashed very quickly! Deliver day we come to find out our salesperson totally screwed up our order, ordered us a different color, and didn't apply both pickups. We discussed with the delivery company and considered keeping the wrong color but the delivery driver told us nope, too late, we have other deliveries! What? We were angy and appalled. Delivery guys called the store and told them we refused and we were coming in. 12/7, Went in to this store again on Portage to the appliance depart to be greeted by a young lady named Sarah who was not willing to help us, guide us in the right direction or even give us to another sales person. She was rude and disrespectful. We left and called the call center still same day. What a joke. Got a guy name Tony, my husband told him NOT to cancel our January order but to only cancel our current and we will go and fix at the store. He told us to wait 3-5 days and they will call us with instructions on refunding that money. We waited until the following monday, 12/13 and I called the call center again to find out this guy Tony cancelled everything and we weren't called. So on 12/13 went to the store to get help. The dept manager for the appliances (Ted) was awesome, he worked on our order got things corrected. Went to check out and found out we had to pay for everything again if we wanted to keep our delivery date of Dec. 20th. So once again, I used debit card and paid in full the washer/dryer. Home depot now had almost $3700 of our money and we still have not received our appliances. Went in on Monday to get refund and they wouldn't refund all the monies. Was told I had to wait for a check home depot. We were absolutely adamant that we wanted nothing to do with waiting for a check. they should be able to refund us that money immediately. Got a call on friday, dec. 17 that our refund was ready. We went in and again would not refund the full amount. Store manager said to give him a couple of days and he will get the cash for refund. So today is 12/19 and once again I have to make another trip into this store to get my refund that they have been sitting on for over 10 days. I'm tired and weary of the lack of concern for customer service and their inability to correct things appropriately and take responsibility. I have been posting on social media this situation and am prepared to go to the BBB and attorney generals office after I make my visit again today. read more

It's odd to me to have Home Depot employees conduct inventory early in the morning and they are all too busy to answer a question or direct you to the right person. I know it's a fine line between pushy and too hands off for retailers... but this is not the first time I felt like I was inconveniencing an employee for guidance. Was tricked into getting a credit card by one of the cashiers @ Portage location. Was told I'd receive $25 off of my total purchase that day as if it were a discount for signing up when really it was being applied to my new Home Depot credit account. $25 is usually no big deal but I'm really not fond of being swindled and mislead at a place I use to enjoy shopping at. Our company often shops here for supplies. They offer a high level of service and don't turn and run away. The store is kept well stocked and very clean. They always seem to have what we need so we go there first. The staff will also help load and we don't need to send two people so that saves us money. This review is negative simply bc of the choice of delivery contract this store has for appliances. I recently purchased a fridge and it was set to be delivered by reliable appliance installation. A half hour prior to our delivery time we were contacted by this company and told that it would not be delivered and wouldn't be delivered for another week. This individual who contacted us was completely unprofessional and was not honest about the reason it wasn't being completed. Upon calling Home Depot for assistance we were told there was nothing they could do to hold this company accountable or get us our fridge. After doing research on this delivery company I am aware that many others have had similar problems and were told similar things by Home Depot. Bc of this company's unprofessionalism, incompetence, and laziness it has lost Home Depot a customer and a sale. We canceled our purchase and went with a place who could deliver quickly and get us what we wanted at the same cost. Since I purchased my home several years ago, I have happily spent thousands of dollars at this particular Home Depot. I've been flipping the house myself, and I always preferred The Home Depot to Lowe's because the store always seems to have more in stock and its associates were always very friendly and knowledgable. In fact, I even went so far as to write the company about the great service and instruction I received when I had a plumbing issue a few months back. That said, I was crushed last week when I tried to return some crappy countertop paint that did not work as directed. I understand a no-return policy on paint in general; however, not only did the guy at the paint counter assure me that I could return it when I mentioned my reservations about trying it during my purchase, but the product was did not work as indicated and royally messed up my countertops. This wasn't a matter of me simply changing my mind. Upon applying the product, my countertops looked nothing like the color on the box, PLUS although I waited over a week to touch them (as opposed to the recommended 2 or 3 days on the box), even glasses left indentations in my countertops. I pocketed my frustration and politely explained my experience to the girl at the returns counter. She couldn't have cared less, leaving me at the register mid-sentence to consult with two other people, who came over and began drilling me about my purchase. What I told them about my experience didn't even register - I had spent days working on this project, carefully following the instructions, and now not only do I have to find another solution and shell out more cash for materials, but I have to put in more time to fix the resultant mess it left. They didn't even consider this. Instead, the guy pointed at the label and said, "It says 'no returns'". Classy. I was so shocked and off-put, I left the store. The cost of the product? A measly $20. I'm so disappointed, I can't adequately convey it in words. The Home Depot was "my store". Now, I'm about to spend a few hundred dollars on tile to cover up my messed up counterops. On June 3, 2019 we purchased a refrigerator from Home Depot. It was delivered and installed with a broken rear wheel and a door handle with a missing end. The missing wheel was obvious as the whole unit was twisted and the doors were uneven. After numerous calls, a repair person being sent out who was unable to repair, being told this may not be covered under warranty, scratches from the missing wheel on our hard wood floor, my wife taking 4 days off from work to meet repair people and delivery people, we had another unit delivered on 8/2/19. I began to feel much like I was now working for Home Depot. At first I did have a Home Depot customer care person reply to me. The big problem is that Home Depot takes your money but from that point you must deal with Whirlpool and a delivery/installation company. In my case, also a repair company that was sent by the delivery/installation company. The customer care reps name was Kim B. However, I think this even got too big for her and then all reply from Home Depot stopped. I continued to reply to them but I have heard anything in return. I will never purchase an item from this store again. I will always now use Home Appliance in Massillon Ohio. They are wonderful. I went for the sale - never again. read more

Do not use homedepot's subcontractors on portage in Canton! We had our counter tops installed it cost us over $4,000, they brought the wrong sink, the counter top had a huge stain so they had to come back and replace it. What was supposed to be a two day project turned into a 6 day project! On top of everything else the people that installed our sink messed up our dishwasher and now it doesn't drain. Save your money if your remodeling your house and find good contractors yourself not the people homedepot uses! read more

I checked online for pet friendly and Home Depot was listed on about 6 sites. I then called this store before going just to be sure. We were told we COULD take her in.
