Visitation and fellowship during the holiday season. There were many people from all over town and our little area here in New Longview. My wife and I live is Kessler Ridge, so we drove less than five minutes to get to the mansion. We have been on the grounds many times before, but this was the first time we were able to visit the interior of the house. It is impressive and fun. There were lots of little pop-up shops set up inside the mansion, all on the main floor and then in a tent that extended from a sunporch on the back of the house. That was by far the biggest area to shop. The rest of the little pop-up areas were small and cozy inside the house. The staff was lovely and serving drinks, wine and food. We only had one glass of wine so we could drive home safely. We loved walking around the house, which everyone who attended was allowed to do with no drama and no supervision. Everyone I saw was super respectful of the property. Everyone we encountered was kind. It was a lovely evening. I hope they do it again next year so we can go.

At the end of the night, unnecessary drama and unfounded accusations caused issues where there weren't any, and my family who had traveled a long way for my wedding were left feeling very uncomfortable and mistreated. We ended up leaving very late for our hotel because we didn't want to leave my family to deal with the drama themselves until it was resolved. If I had known this would happen, I would definitely have reconsidered this space.

We loved the set up of the bed and breakfast, that there were things to do there, the bed was so comfortable in the Walnut suite, the homemade breakfast was phenomenal and we enjoyed good conversation with the owners. Would recommend to anyone! We will definitely be back.

Of course the owner of Walnut Waters Bed & Breakfast has "cherry picked" maybe 5 shining reviews,…read morebut there's a flipside to their business demeanor as well. Let me tell you about OUR EXPERIENCE with Walnut Waters starting upon our arrival. The owner-host Rebecca was like a marine corps drill sergeant greeting recruits for boot camp by being overly aggressive in micro-managing our stay by telling us what we could do & could not do starting the moment we got there. She was an obnoxious, femi-nazi type control freak personality. I am handicapped, and our room had access from an adjacent parking level, but I was told that I was NOT allowed to use that parking, and would have to use the stairs. Again, I am handicapped. I was being forced to use stairs as a handicapped person. Secondly, we inspected our room and found it to be 80 degrees in the room which had a lock box on the thermostat to keep guests from adjusting the temperature to THEIR comfort level. (What kind of place does that?) When I asked the owner-host to turn the temp down cooler she stated "You have a fan in your room". I told her that we didn't pay for just having a fan in our room, we paid to be comfortable on a VERY hot July 31st (the heat index that day was 110 degrees outside). Because of the demeanor to NOT facilitate my needs as a handicapped American first & foremost, and because the owner-host wouldn't even cool our room down, I told her we weren't going to stay. She refused our refund. I have since filed a complaint with the Kansas City area BBB.
