I`m not a person who writes negative reviews but this time it`s different. My wife, eight year old daughter & I popped in for a hot pork roll and a drink. The teenage girl behind the bar gave surly service, and spoke so fast that I could barely make out her words. I had to ask her to repeat the reason I couldn`t order a pint of Guinness and she seemed to spit the words out at me as if she really did not want to be there. After I had paid I stood wondering where I should receive the rolls and she finally said "we`ll bring it over".
The rolls arrived reasonably fast but she mumbled something along the lines "there ya go" and promptly walked off. On leaving we walked past her totally engrossed in playing on her mobile.
I hope this is not indicative of the service there daily as the pub itself is really quite nice inside but I will never set foot in the place again though.
I have since wondered if my initial approach to her was wrong or in some way misconstrued, but I cannot in all honesty think it was. I am always try to be polite and believe the words thank you and please are two of the most powerful words in any language but not it seems in hers
We were there on 22nd October 2016 around 1pm. I noticed on the way out of Adams hill, that two other pubs was bristling with customers. We should have gone to one of them instead. read more
