Several other businesses provide services for hair, nails, gasoline, and banking. Current restaurants include TGI Fridays, GetGo Cafe and Market, Starbucks, and Texas Roadhouse. I like some of these businesses and shopped at them. I thought that the parking lot had enough spaces for customers' vehicles and that the area was safe and clean.

There's a building that's not physically connected but still part of Centre Market, and it houses a coffee shop, a hand-pie bakery, an ice cream shop and an art gallery. This part of Centre Market also has comfy couches and games to play, so if you're looking for an area to hang out and stay a while, this part of Centre Market is your spot. I love a good food hall, and Centre Market is a good place to visit if you're looking to find something to eat but don't know what you want. There's something for everyone here, and it's all local, which is great.

On a Thursday afternoon the market area was mostly empty and desolate, but the vendors who were operating were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Makes me sad that Wheeling used to be THE city in which to see and be seen. We bought a few sweets and sausages from local vendors and I am sure I could have spent WAY more money here. The building reminds me of the marketplace in Charleston SC on a much smaller scale. I hope these vendors can make it and I wish them a major boost of life and vitality. Everything about Wheeling: the number of Victorian homes, the historic businesses, and the centre market have so much offer, if only a little love continues to go into downtown.

Many of these buildings have been restored and converted into shops. The shopping center contains Pig and Fire House of Barbecue restaurant and about 11 specialty local businesses, including a tattoo parlor, nail salon, barber, hair salon, juicery, a K-9 trainer, and more. In the past couple of years, I have eaten lunches at Pig and Fire House of Barbeque and gotten a snack at Desire to Be Well Juicery. I recommend both of these businesses for their excellent foods, drinks, and service. The buildings look lovely, although I was told that one building lacked adequate insulation for the winter and summer. I deducted one star because I cannot shop for all necessities here.

The gift shop is great. There are lots of Wheeling- and West Virginia-related items to purchase. I was looking for some kind of Mothman something-or-other, and I found a few cool cryptid knickknacks. I've said it before and I'll say it again: West Virginians love their cryptids and myths, and I love it. The gift shop also had lots of clothing, soaps, durable edible goods, art and other things. There's a restaurant inside the Wheeling Artisan Center, but it looked closed when we visited. Upstairs, there's a gallery with historic Wheeling items on display. You can learn about things that were made or originated in Wheeling, like Bayer aspirin, Mail Pouch Tobacco signs, and even a type of cigar. It's fun to peruse while you're in the area, and it's also free to visit.
