I was having a very bad day and the bartender Yessenia was spectacular. The ambiance was sports bar and I didn't order any food but the service was above and beyond. She was absolutely the best person to be in the bar at that right time. She told me about karaoke and dance lessons. This bar hold so many different things for all those looking for something to do. Yessenia was by far the best bartender I have ever come across and I hope to see more of her. Keep doing such a good job read more

They sold this place and it's awful now. They charged my card twice. They charge you to literally breathe the air. They took out the pool tables to put sorry ass bottle sections for $300 a bottle. They also charge $60 to sit at a regular table... I can't believe it has gone so down hill. Money hungry owners. read more

Music was good but mixed drinks tasted like just mix. Save your money just buy a beer so at least you get your money worth.

The hubby took me out for date night and after dinner he wanted to continue our evening with some drinks. We've been wanting to branch out and find another bar to hang at and decided to give this place a try. I'd been here years ago when it was Shamrocks and had a fun night with friends, but only once and never again. So when he brought me here I was down. The security guy was cool and not one of those meat heads that have zero personality so that was a great first impression. The place is pretty big with most of the space being a stage with a lot of lighting and equipment. There's also a nice sauce dance floor and plenty of tables and chairs spread throughout. They have tv's playing videos for whatever music is playing at the time with a ticker at the bottom of the screen informing you of their weekly schedule. They have an edm night, a Latin night and even a karaoke night which, just our luck was the night we went! The karaoke setup was nice and convenient with you being able to scan a QR code to get access to their song list and setting up your turn from your phone. The bartenders were quick and friendly enough, getting through orders and continuing to make drinks for everyone. I've already told a few friends that we will have to come back and actually get on stage to sing next time. read more

The Hideout - The stage all set up for karaoke - Bars Near Me - Bakersfield, California

The security gaurd, Will, was the one at the door when I arrived, without knowing I dropped a wad of cash, about $100, the man made sure to give the whole amount back to me, The Hideout, you have an amazing man working for you and will be back more than usual, thank you Will, you're the man!!! read more

I will never come here again. My friends and I were looking forward to a fun night out and things were going well until we went to the bathroom and the owner asked one of my masculine presenting friends if she was a girl, and even after we told him she was, he WOULDNT stop questioning. This establishment is non inclusive, bigoted, and will never have my business again. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT! read more

went for the first time and we had a blast, music was on point, drinks were great and the service was awesome. They accept all people as so many different people were there from gay, straight, black, brown, white, transgender ect.. Just gotta say dont come with an attitude they will not play. Otherwise, great environment. read more

This was my go to place until today's incident. My friend, who is masc presenting, was harassed by the owner. She went into the bathroom, with my other friend and I, AS GIRLS DO, and was questioned by who claimed to be the owner of the place, if she was a man. Since he asked, we clarified she was a girl, not taking offense to it because we understand the basics of someone doing their quote and quote job. However, he continued to ask the question despite us all telling him she was a girl. He then yelled at us in a condescending way and very rude manner "do not come at me, I am the manager and can't have guys in the girls' bathroom", when we had stated multiple times in the most calm manner that she was a girl. The harassment continued with no apology from said owner. That interaction alone was enough for us, as three girls, to feel uncomfortable and unsafe in that environment. I do not recommend this place if you do not " conform" to their social standards of how women and men should dress. Thank you for ruining our girls night and harassing a genuinely kind girl. Also, I'm only choosing one star because it doesn't let me choose zero stars. read more

my family and i went out and were having a blast until a situation occurred with another party (in which they were physical) we wanted to understand the situation and the security guard D immediately took their side, kicked us out, yelled at us and blamed us for the situation when we were just trying to understand why we were being thrown out and they weren't when they never got physical at all. another security guard came out to speak with us and listened and was going to let us inside but D kept interrupting, used racial slurs and yelling at our group. it's unfortunate because this was all of our first time there, most of my family was from out of town visiting and we had never had anything like this happen before. read more

Was having a great time until staff interaction... My family was out having a great time dancing & enjoying the Dj until my sisters boyfriend took a seat near another party (we had a few sit at "our table" which we didn't mind so we found another area with empty chairs) a woman at this new table began nudging him and pretty much telling him that he needed to leave. She began getting physical and aggressive . As he stood up to move she began slamming her hands on the table and calling him/us names like she owned the table... Note: the Hideout does not have sections or the opportunity to purchase tables... it's a free for all. So we simply asked what this woman's problem was and why she was acting irrational over a chair that wasn't being occupied by anyone??. The security guard then asked US to leave and allowed her to stay...even after knowing that she put her hands on one of us. We exited. We tried to explain to him what happened while we were standing outside the door and he began calling for support on his walkie ...while using the "n" word.. (this security was NOT a person of color) when asked why he was using this language he proceeded to say he "had black family members" ...all in all very unprofessional & do not feel they handled this situation appropriately. There was another security guard that stated 'nobody owned the tables' and did feel that the other party should have been removed over us but at that point we left because we felt extremely uncomfortable. We had already been there 3 hours with no issues up until this moment. Another issue I had is that the bartenders keep your card when you leave an open tab.. this is my first time experiencing this and can find many potential issues with this happening. After looking at reviews they HAVE had experiences with handing off people the wrong cards and losing bank cards so I don't recommend doing this. CLOSE YOUR TAB! As mentioned this place has potential to be a great experience but needs better staff & customer service training. Keeping someone who is way too intoxicated --that was willing to put her hands on random people over guest that were smiling and dancing and having a good time doesn't make any sense and could have potentially caused issues for others as well. I do feel like we were stereotyped and treated poorly which is very unfortunate. If we were asked to leave the woman who put her hands on my sister's boyfriend should have been asked to leave immediately as well! read more

Its open for business but you wouldn't know unless you pulled on the door. There were no "just open" signs, no neon signs glowing in the window. The decor was a cleaned up Shamrocks the predecessor of this bar. First thing I noticed was all tall tables with bar stools around them. A big plus in my eyes. There are still two pool tables. The bar was cleaned up and a new 20 beer tap has been installed. They had several craft beers along with the major domestic beers. The had several TV's including a couple large projection ones. Nice watering hole to watch sports. read more

This place changed and is now called the hideout. When I came on a dancing Friday night with my friends Christina was working the bar ALONE for a PACKED HOUSE! and she was AMAZING!!! GIVE HER A RAISE IMMEDIATELY!!! read more

If the like Latin music with a lot of dancing come here. Gets packed so get here early Friday nights.

Love love that place. Call Mike for your party planning he will give you ideas and reserve a VIP table for you! They have a taco truck that comes and serves Tuesday and Fridays I believe. They have a bacon rapped hot dog guy that comes at 10. Totally a peaceful and fun atmosphere! read more

Visited this location with some friends Saturday night and felt a little judged and watched by some of the patrons. I know that the business cannot control that but it definitely didn't make us want to stay. The prices of their drinks was reasonable and they are not stingy when it comes to their pours. I am only giving 2 stars based on the fact that it just wasn't fun hanging out and drinking here. I may return in the future and give them another try but for now I would say this is just a place to grab a drink not a fun bar you can spend your night at. read more

The Hideout - a glass of whiskey on a bar - Bars Near Me - Bakersfield, California

This bar is another generic Rosedale strip mall pub, but the atmosphere is fun and the bar tenders are very nice and that's 80% of it. They have a Dj that plays good tunes but it's kind of dead for a Friday night; it's really all about who you're with. read more

The Hideout - Bar - Bars Near Me - Bakersfield, California

I have been here a lot. They have new employees every time I go in there. I have had my drink made right only by two bartenders there. ( The blonde and the one with tattoos). Pretty much order beer if those two aren't working. read more

I spent an enjoyable evening on December 31st with my friends and great band, however, my nice wool coat was stolen off my chair and when I complained about it to the bar staff I was told they had video and they would check to see who had taken it. I called for 3 days to see if anyone had viewed the video and all I was told is that they would relay my message. I never heard back. This place is okay for a few drinks but don't bring your valuables..the bar staff don't care enough to investigate when derelicts make off with your things... I don't know why they bother with the "cameras" if bar staff have no intentions of making them useful and allow thieves to run amok in that place. Slater2 read more

Went last night for the 2nd time with my husband for after-dinner drinks. We arrived about 7:30ish, before an 8pm shift change, so naturally we would close out our tab so the out-going bartender could get her deserved tips. Next bartender comes in and we've been sitting at the bar next to where customers order drinks, my husband's glass is empty and he'd like another drink, and the bartender on shift now is totally overlooking us. She never acknowledged us when she began her shift. I think we were invisible. We were there during the week a few weeks ago during the week and I can't remember the bartender's name but he was really cool and friendly. I get last night was busy but seriously...acknowledge your customers sitting at the bar.... Overall, nice beverage selection. Probably won't go back on a Saturday night. read more

My friends and I are complaining, because it's not a bar atmosphere, the lights are way too bright,I have friends that don't want to come because they like the low lighting darker atmosphere in a bar, They need to turn off some of the lights or dim them down or put in softer lighting , we don't like to sit and drink and dance under bright lights. read more

At least Whisky Barrel put the game sound on when asked. Instead here, you get attitude from a bartender who's "not working".

Unfortunately I got my hopes up when this establishment re-opened and was extremely let down, the beers were under poured, food was over priced and took a very long time, our bartender Yvette acted like it was a burden when we asked to close our tab. This was going to be my after work drink spot but will never return to this poor excuse of an establishment, and I highly recommend anywhere else but this place read more

There is more to being an Irish pub other than naming yourself "Irish pub". One Irish beer (Guinness) isn't enough to call it an Irish pub, a nice array of "craft beers" made by local breweries, while nice, doesn't make it an Irish pub either. So, if you're looking for an Irish pub, this isn't it, not even close. Sports bar at best. read more

I stopped by this bar for the first time since they remodeled. I was pleasantly surprised with the attentiveness of the staff, including Yvette, Nicole, Holly, and Victoria. It's clear they care about the customer. I'm looking forward to my next visit. I think I found my regular neighborhood watering hole. read more

Horrible service right from the start. Bartender didn't even awknowledge our group and the place wasn't even busy. Once we waited awhile, we went up to the bar to order, and she refused service to my friend because she didn't have her drivers license memorized. She was very rude about it and kept saying there was no other way she could scan her ID. Would not recommend this place whatsoever. read more

Absolutely terrible experience. Will never be back. Terrible service and got nothing but attitude from bartender. I did notice however that they give excellent service to the "regulars" they know by name. Wouldn't waste my money here again. HUGE disappointment, I was so excited for this bar to open up in Rosedale and was completely let down. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

Horrible service. New Year's Eve party was a joke. Entertainment is great, but the bar is a joke.

Poor service. Bartenders were rude and only cared about the guys they were flirting with. Will not return. Very unprofessional.

Bartenders are the best. Service is good. Really suggest. More people should come. Everyone was really nice. I will definitely come back again. read more

I had such high expectations for this place, I followed the Facebook page until it opened and was so excited for a Friday night to come so I can take my wife there, we first walked in and went straight to the bar, and the bartender was extremely rude from the start. I do not know if she was rude because we were a young couple (both 24yr old) she Then refused to serve my wife a drink because my wife did not have her DL# memorized by heart, even though she knew her birthday and all the other questions the bartender had for her, in a very rude way she continued to say how it is her call and she has the final say. She did not run the ID under any UV light or swipe test, and claims she did not have to. I understand if she's trying to be safe but there are multiple ways for bars to test drivers license. but to refuse service for not knowing your drivers license number by heart???(my wife is also a bartender at a restaurant and was shocked) Very disappointed I live in the neighborhood behind the pub and will not be returning again overall horrible experience and horrible service read more
