This was a fun place to stop for breakfast! My brother was in town, we were trying to find an easy place to meet halfway, and honestly there are limited restaurants. We found the Hen & Egg and were very happy with our choice! The menu was very large, the service was great. I couldn't drink my coffee as fast as they were willing to refill, and it was well priced. For the two of us, it was $21 for two coffees and two meals. Portions were good as well. My family has a place not too far and I said they need to add it to their list - we will be back for sure!

French toast, very tasty and we will be getting it again soon!

Don't even waste your time reading this, go now and get in line to eat!! You will not be sorry! I am so sorry we didn't start going here years ago when they opened, I feel robbed to have lost time with them! Ok, so it is just a breakfast spot and a few lunch items during the week. Breakfast/brunch is all the rage and most of the nicer chain restaurants that specialize in this are pretty expensive. Not only is this place fantastic, it is priced so fairly that I'm scared to even say it in this review because they may decide to raise their prices... But I'll be back even if they do! Since we had never been and because, why not... We ordered a little of everything to give it a try. My wife loves eggs Benedict, and she approves of theirs after eating it on Saturday morning! We also tried a pecan Belgian waffle, French toast, scrambled eggs with sausage patties, and hash brown casserole. Not to mention a couple slices of sourdough toast just to give it a try. Again, we ordered a lot of food and all of it was excellent breakfast fare! We are already planning our return visit this coming Saturday! We're gonna stick with the French toast, eggs, Benedict, and I think I'm going to go for one of the chimichanga breakfast things! It's a small restaurant and very tight seats, however, they turn the tables over quickly and everyone was in a good mood. They told us our wait was going to be about 20 minutes at 9:30 on Saturday morning and it ended up being more like 30 minutes, but that's OK. Oh! Our server was a lady named Savannah and she did an excellent job and we thoroughly appreciated her good service! Run don't walk! To those about to nosh, I salute you!

Love this place! I'm lucky enough to have 2 projects within 10 minutes of this breakfast gem! My previous visit I got the Piggy Chimi. On this visit the Eggs Royale were outstanding- Lox poach eggs with hollandaise sauce on toasted English muffin. Served with a generous portion of hashbrowns lightly salted. With orange juice and coffee. Great breakfast on a cold December morning, good service, fair price and outstanding food. Definitely my preferred place for breakfast in the vicinity of Newton, NC. Thanks!

The Nutella crepes are decedent. I live the scramblers too. The service is great but if you come during peak hours expect a wait.

Charming coffee shop with character. When you walk in, there's a narrow pathway towards the counter…read moreto order. There's menus on the wall in the hallway and at the counter. Very accessible. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. They have really fun decor, good lighting, trinkets and gifts to purchase, and different little spots to dine in, e.g., a small couch area, traditional table seating, a seat/bench by the window, and outdoor patio seating. It provides both a small, intimate setting but also a lot of room and space for groups of 3-4. I'm from California and was visiting family for a bit. Wanted to find a local coffee shop to work from. We came here about 10 years ago. Super happy this coffee shop is still around. Still has really good character, warm vibe, and employees were super welcoming to us. Grabbed a cold brew with foam, a mango/pineapple smoothie, a cookie (they gave us a second because one accidentally broke, kind gesture), a blueberry muffin, and a carrot muffin. Everything was great. That carrot muffin was the bomb. The cold brew was really good too. Classic caffeine kick, bold flavor as usual, and can really taste the fruit notes. I came back the next day to work. It was busy but there's still room to dine in and the team still got through the orders efficiently. For how busy it was, I didn't wait too long to order and get what I needed. Definitely overstayed my time but really needed a nice spot to work from. There's a lot of seating inside and out, but it gets pretty packed during lunch time. Was willing to give up my seat if needed. The staff consistently cleaned tables and seats and kind enough to just allow me to work despite my long stay. I went back to order a chai latte and the bagel and lox. The chai is unsweetened so I added their chai syrup. If you want it sweeter, probably add a bit more. I didn't mind their chai as is. Still good and getting all the spice notes after a cold brew was refreshing. The bagel and lox was phenomenal. I had to be proper and eat it like a civilized adult human being... but would've totally devoured it in seconds with my bare fingers if I was in the privacy of my home. Would come back.

Taste Full Beans is a longstanding staple in the small but growing town of Hickory. It is located…read moredowntown so parking can be a miss on the weekends, but it should be fine on the weekdays. The coffee house itself is quite cozy and charming inside with a lot of warm lighting. A bit small inside, but there is some seating available. There are a lot of items on their menu, especially for the coffees and teas. I thought the service was friendly and efficient. I got the Vietnamese Iced Coffee and the Egg & Cheese Sandwich. I knew when I saw how pale the Vietnamese Iced Coffee looked that it was not going to be typical, haha. It definitely tastes sweeter than usual and not very strong at all, and the latter is what Vietnamese Iced Coffee is known for. I did not mind the sweeter taste too much although I wish it was a bit stronger and darker (in color). As for the Egg & Cheese Sandwich, I got it on a croissant which was flaky. While the eggs were quite fluffy, I felt like they needed some salt and pepper although perhaps I was supposed to add that on my own. I think I would rate Taste Full Beans a 3.75/5 stars if I could. The drink and food I got were just alright. I would come back and try the other items on their vast menu!
