In mid June. I ordered hearing aids and other items in order to connect to my laptop. At the time…read moreI placed my order, I was told it would be 7-10 days to come in. We are now in mid July, and I have heard NOTHING. Making several attempts to contact them has not been successful as they do not answer their phones and all messages have fallen on deaf ears (pun intended) as I have not received any response. If this is the hassle I have to go through to get my hearing aids, I'd hate to think of the type of service I would get for any follow-up attempts. I have attempted to cancel my order through TruHearing but they also cannot get a response as they need the order back from McCurley to cancel. So it looks like even the supplier can't get any action. I would hate to get a lawyer involved just to cancel an order that was never received because McCurley staff continue to ignore me. Funny how just the 5 star reviews are the only ones posted.

The new ones are still great after another five years. I just went in for some help replacing the tips of them (at no charge). I was afraid to monkey with them on my own. The office was very helpful and friendly, taught me how to replace the tips myself and gave me some extras. You will not get care and quality like this from places like Cosco -- I know because my partner went there and wants to take his hearing aids back and go to McCurley.

There was an ad in the paper for Livingston saying they were having a grand opening and would do a free exam and check up. That did happen and they did a pretty good job. However, when I mentioned the ad he never even heard or saw the advertisement. It was just the way that corporate gets people to get in their stores. We ended up asking for their top of the line hearing aid. It was called a Starkey and the. cost was $5,200. I went home and started to do some research. I found out that Starkey top-of-the-line hearing aid was their genesis 24. I called up Livingston and asked which model they ordered for me. They said the Genesis 20, which is not their top-of-the-line. They said the top of the line was another thousand dollars. I researched online and found a top-of-the-line Genesis 24 for $4800. $1,400 less!! I called up Livingston and asked why didn't they order me the top-of-the-line as I asked, and said if they match the 4800 I would still go with them. The doctor never returned my call. I ordered hearing aids from a company called zip. They supply the hearing aids at a greatly discounted price and then work with companies to do the fitting. It was a great experience. The new company did a much more thorough job than Livingston. I ended up with a hearing aid called phonak which seems to have much more capabilities and better sound than Starkey. I don't recommend Livingston. Give Zip a try.

I generally get my hearing aids from the VA, but they've been less than helpful in replacing my over the ear hearing aids that have suffered thru covid with me. They've been launched, dropped and lost when unmasking and background noise has 1st priority So unwilling to continue that frustration in the drawer they went. That was the beginning of the next level of frustration. Finally reaching wits end and having been inundated with mail from local hearing aid companies I decided to act. I learned that hearing aid vendors are like used car salesmen, lure you with rock bottom prices and try to upsell into the model that is practical with the most profit for them. So enter Costco Hearing Aid Center, in typical Costco fashion they buy in bulk, and have stores all over the country. So I stopped in, talked to the audiologist and scheduled an Appt. After the hearing test we discussed the options. Since the audiologist are not paid on commission I feel I got better info with no pressure. Hearing aids chosen, molds made and come back in 10 days to pick them up. Huh? Normal took 4-6 weeks at the VA. I show up, they fit great. They were programmed to my hearing deficit, connected to my phone and now I can hear you. They are brand name with the bells & whistles *I* wanted. It was a great experience and now I wonder why it took me so long. Costco may not be your first choice but the may be your last.
