She cut…read moreaway 2 extra inches in a flat line in the front, making my hair seem like it had 2 shelves with no blend, made a big hole in the back of my hair, thinned the last inch out so much that it was just wisps and there was almost no hair left, and made my hair uneven in length. Worst of all, this was three months before my wedding, which I explained very clearly at the start of my haircut. Thankfully Essence Salon offered to schedule a free fix with Ellie. Ellie was fantastic. It took a lot of skill for her to walk back these mistakes while trying to keep my length. While she acknowledged that she couldn't get it perfect without taking off several inches, she was able to correct the worst offenses. My hair is feeling so much better coming into my wedding, and I look forward to working with her again in a few months to get a complete reset.

Trusting my hairstylist I didn't think anything of it. now a couple months later my hair has grown and to which the uneven haircut is more noticeable. One side is longer than the other the bottom looks so choppy. I have reached out to the hairstylist kat on Friday to which she has just read my message and has not responded, really unprofessional on her part, no apology, no response, no trying to suggest any further treatment or at least offer to fix her mistakes. THE PRICE ADVERTISE FOR THIS HAIRSTYLIST PRICE FOR A HAIRCUT IS $115. I thankfully didn't pay that due to me getting a "bundle deal". Ultimately that's a bit unfair if this is the haircut you will be getting a choppy haircut with one side being longer than the other. It's really sad having to take this up to this review when you give the hairstylist the time to find a solution but to not get a response shows how much they care for the people that keep them in service. She did what I requested but the result is not satisfying rather dissapointing. Hair has been trimmed way too much - usually trimming and layering done in the inner layer of the hair, not outer layer but somehow she did both inner and outer which makes my hair look very messy. It was $85 total not including tips ($10 extra charge due heavy hair). If I could reverse time and decide whether or not to get a haircut, I wouldn't at least with Nina.

The whole process was thorough -- she even did an analysis of my makeup and was determined to find a lip shade that suited my complexion, which is something even I have been struggling with since I started wearing makeup. Yeye also gave me clothing recommendations such as neckline styles that would suit me. The experience felt personalized and I have incorporated her advice into my shopping habits even months later. After our appointment she sent me home with a bunch of style guides along with outfit and hair inspo. I truly feel she has helped me elevate my style this year.
