This is one of a few restaurants that have been revamped in the area.
Situated near the coastal guard at Holyhead lies this place. Stepping through i found this looked more like a healthy eatery. Once seated on a hard plastic chair we were immediately asked what we wanted to drink..i explained we had only just sat down..after they had retreated back to the counter we opened the menu..all quarter bottles of wine were just under a fiver so pinot griego was fast chosen
The menu consists of various home made soups, salads, plenty of locally sourced seafood and sandwiches.. i found it a struggle to decide between the chilli tiger prawns or the fish chowder. My mum had the fresh vegetable soup so I had the chowder.
When I think of chowder I imagine a creamy texture laced with leeks and multiple types f fish..unfortunately it was more of a tomatoey stew with one type of smoked whitefish and a chilli oil...it was ok..but not what I was expecting..my mum's soup was nice but nothing fancy.
Soups taken away I eyed up the desserts. I always go for cheesecake but for a change I thought I'd be adventurous and have the white chocolate creme brulee. This was executed well but got sickly quick with the indulgent chocolate..some sharp raspberry couli would have been nice to break it up.
My mum had the lemon / lime cheesecake with ginger biscuit base..very tasty..i eyed the rest up envioisly.
Overall it was nice..i just think overpriced for what was delivered. read more
