I've only been able to walk by this place, but I always enjoy their displays...they add so much to Arizona just with their presence and appreciation of art! I take moments to admire things every time that I pass; I only wish they had more natural skulls. Believe it or not, we visited Arizona many years before we moved here, and The Happy Suguaro played a key factor in deciding to move here; it just captured the spirit and magic of the land so well. The Happy Saguaro is a very interesting place--its huge inventory is beautifully presented and the staff is helpful but not pushy which allows for a pleasant shopping experience IMO. The store has broad selection of seasonal and year-round wares that are colorful and interesting. All the above said, I have two issues with the place. First, the seasonal products like Talavera and pottery are priced higher than other merchants by 20% and I think that may be due to their location and the amount of inventory--my best advice is to wait for a sale. Second is the lack of a public restroom which I find ridiculous--they advertise on social media so their audience is broad, after a two-hour trip being told you can use a restroom at Trader Joe's is ridiculously inconvenient. Would I recommend The Happy Saguaro? Yes and no, if you're in the area or enroute to other destinations, it's worth a stop. If you're looking for something in particular you have to have, call and it can be worth the drive but realize you may be paying for it. read more

What a great place to buy some really cool decor. All kinds of garden items, kitchen supplies, house decor for any occasion. The prices seem a little high, however these are hard to find items so it seems fair enough. Friendly staff is always a plus. read more

We came to browse and maybe buy. We re looking for a pot set that matches for the sides of the front door. We thought the prices were prohibitive for the budget. But they do have some nice choices. I've only been here once but very pleased to find what I was looking for in the clearance section outdoors, 2 medium large metal cacti (one was agave) in a discontinued green turquoise color that I liked better than the other turquoise/greens available at significantly lower prices than those. These things are pricey but the prices here are competitive and better than other places I checked. I wasn't there for more than a few minutes before deciding what I wanted and a guy came out asking if he could help - made it easy. I'll definitely go back here for my next purchase of similar garden art items. Be aware that there are no refunds, so be sure it's what you want before finalizing your purchase. read more

The owner and staff are amazing and as a lifelong Arizonan this is the best assortment of Mexican art, tiles, pottery, you name it, that you can find in the southwest outside of Mexico. I love this store! My fiancé and I were visiting Tucson and wanted to get some south western/Mexican decor. His mom had been to this store so we decided to check it out. This is a pretty large store inside and outside. They have a large selection of clay, ceramic, pottery, tiles, wood items, metal items, wall decor, ornaments, furniture, and much more!! Most of the items we looked at were all made in Mexico and decently priced. Not overly expensive, but not cheap either. This is great because they are supporting the artists and giving a fair price. The staff was super friendly. She talked with us about where we were from while we waited for our items to be wrapped. They asked us if we were traveling, and wrapped each item so well with bubble wrap and plastic wrap. read more

Great service, great prices, quality pottery! I have been looking for large and medium-height brilliant-colored pottery for almost 6 months now...but everything I found in Phoenix was just not within my budget. We're talking around $300 each for styles I wasn't totally in love with. I caught wind of a sale at another place with a B1G1 1/2 off sale in Tucson...so we made a point to visit on our next trip to Tucson. Their items looked pretty cheap and were fairly thin, regular price was $295 for what I was looking for, so with the special I would still be paying almost $450 for the two items I was looking for. Thanks..but still outta my budget. On our way out of Tucson, we decided to stop at the Happy Saguaro on a whim, which was a happy surprise! But...they didn't have what exactly I was looking for, so the lovely lady who had helped me outside said they expected another batch around March or so. I asked if they could maybe call me when they came in and she said no problem. Now, typically, when I leave my contact information for something like this, I NEVER receive a call. But just a few days ago (and a few months early from when it was expected), Edgar gave me a ring to tell me they got several styles in stock in the color I was looking for (turquoise or a cobalt blue). And, get this -- they are only $79 for the more simple style, or $89 each for the more ornate styles. And they were much thicker (read: better quality and less likely to break) than what I have seen at many other places. Holy crap. SIGN ME UP. And today, my folks, while in Tucson, helped me out by picking up the most gorgeous pottery I think I've seen yet! Edgar gave my mom the hookup, helping her load the two pieces in her car, after carefully wrapping them to make sure they don't get damaged in transit. How's that for amazing service!! read more

We just stopped at The Happy Saguaro as we headed out of town back to California. The selection here is wonderful. We were looking for house number tiles and they carry 4 different styles. The Wall Art was varied and interesting. There were many helpful people working. All in all a great experience and I will be back next time we visit Tucson. read more

Edgar and this business tried to RIP me off not once by overcharging, but twice by PROMISING a speedy refund on April 9, 2019!! This guy is such a liar and actually thought my credit card company did not give me my refund when it was HE that never set up the refund! Does you credit CDC ard company take 10 days to issye a refund made? Don't think so! It is immediate! They use some lousy third party vendor to send you your receipt who has had lots of issues and trued to blame them...or my cc company! He then SAID he sent me another "copy" of the receipts that said he made it on April 9th and that the receipt he sent showed that!!! Nope another big fat lie! It showed todays date the date I called again April 18! I would never go into that place if business again because their employees overcharge and you will never know until they send you an email! The service us HORRIBLE, slow, unfriendly. Run fast the other way and steer clear of that lying cheat. He tells me to calm down even though this is my 3rd phone call to them. I get tired of chasing cheating retailers for theur theft of my money! Avoid them at all costs! read more

I went all over town looking for a rustic wooden bench for my bedroom. I found MY HAPPY PLACE at the Happy Saguaro. I already have two tile mirrors from there, and now I have my bench! I could not have asked for better service or friendlier people to help me. I kept changing my mind, because the inventory and choices are beyond belief! The staff was so patient with me. Edgar Castillo and his staff are very proud of their business and will take the time to walk you through the property without any pressure to purchase. But you WILL! The prices are better than anywhere in town, and the quality is second to none. I don't think you will find a better selection anywhere. And.....my bench was on sale and delivered to my house for FREE. It doesn't get any better than that! read more
