The Happiness Classic Rock Band.
Analicia O.

The Happiness Band played for my husband's birthday on 9/25/21 and blew us away! The songs played had the guests dancing and singing. The musicians had a great voice and played excellent! The band members were professional and easy to communicate with. I was so grateful I was able to hire them last minute (tip: book ahead). I highly recommend booking The Happiness Band. Our guests and husband keep talking about how amazing they played. Our neighbors told us they stayed up late just to hear more songs. You will not be disappointed! I would hire them again in a heart beat. Thank you Happines Band for making my husband's birthday memorable. This event goes down in the books as one of the best so far thanks to you.

Absolutely loved these guys! Hired them for my hubby's 50th Gatsby bash and they were fantastic, everyone raved! Very professional, very talented and could not have asked for a more perfect band! Thank you for being a part of special event and bringing down the house!!! Review by Christine B.FROM EL SEGUNDO, CA ON 5/18/2019

She even dressed up in her finest Elsa costume, and looked so charming. Dear Hubby and I had seen the move many years ago when it first came out - actually with SG's older brother when he was young. It had been so long that I'd forgotten most of the plot. I did remember most of the main character's names, so it was easy to get into the spirit of enjoying the plot. The cast sang their hearts out, and there were several times that their performances brought a tear to my eye with the emotion of the scenes. I was entranced by what this local little theater team was able to pull off with the set design, which was simple, but effective. The projected graphics added an air of magic, as well. Several special effects with props during the show surprised and delighted us all. We were still talking about them later in the evening at dinner. Sunday matinee performances are perfect for attending with a young grandchild. SG also enjoyed the opportunity to have her picture taken with the princesses - children and adult versions after the show concluded. That was a nice touch, especially for the kids in attendance. I'd expect that tickets will be hard to come by for the rest of the run, but it would be worth checking out. Great theater experience, especially this particular show.

Every lead was spot on. And the theater itself is a joy. Small enough that there isn't a bad seating the house (we were in the next to last row and had a great view of the stage). Will definitely keep my eye out for their revival stage performances for next season.

I made a huge mistake last weekend and ordered tickets in the wrong area of the theater. I emailed the box office right away and got a very prompt, kind reply from Abby -- on a Saturday night no less -- assuring me that their staff would be able to help. Laura and Dave went above and beyond the call of duty to assist with the refund and repurchase of other tickets. Laura's compassion and recommendation of seats in another area of the theater will allow for a less stressed experience for a member of my group who needs to be closer to the restroom. Let these great folks at the box office help take away the headache (and expense) from dealing with Ticketmaster. They are a tremendous resource!

That's it. I basically paid $120 for my wife and kids to drive 1 hour to see the movie, when I could have played it at my house. My wife calls me, furious. So I call the box office...they told me as a 1 time courtesy, they will refund me in 7 business days. It's been almost a month. I received nothing. So I called them just now only to be told I won't be getting a refund. The rep even acknowledged there were a lot of angry people. I encourage everyone to do a chargeback on their cards if you attended. It was straight up theft. $120 to play the little Mermaid Movie. And then the box office lied to me about the refund. This is how they billed it " Make a splash with an unforgettable, family-friendly event where you become part of the story! Sing-Along Live! brings Disney's beloved classic The Little Mermaid to the big screen with on-screen lyrics, audience participation moments, and a wave of musical fun for all ages. This event will be hosted live by our costumed Mermaid Princess." When in reality they just played the movie. Shame on the production company, and shame on the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza for letting these people scam everyone.

The talent of the student performers is endless. They put on great shows and the staging and direction is world class. It's better than going to LA to equity houses and all for a low price. We do have one suggestion -- please consider audience etiquette before going. We recently attended and a family of one of the cast members were just in a word -- gross. You don't have to wear a tux but a t-shirt with Spuds McKenzie from 1985, mom? Also not cool you cut us in line going in. Dad, there is no photographs or video in the theatre during performances. You made it hard for us to see as you attempted to be Wes Anderson moving around your seat on a swivel. Finally, your son/nephew/cousin is, yeah. It's cool. You seemed to be unaware when you yelled, "Go for it!" as he kissed a female cast member on the stage. Just a little self awareness is what we're suggesting here. Glad you support his theatre aspirations! If you're the student who this is about, I'm really sorry. They sure love you and that's all we could want for you. (We'd also pay to see you on Broadway, too. You are quite talented!) but you and your cast mates deserved better. In fact, we all did.

I'm really aurprised that more members of the community don't come to these great shows. The sets and the acting are just incredible. And the price is so affordable. Last year our tickets were in the Founder's Circle area, and that part of the venue is amazing! It is pretty chill and if you want to sit outside of the venue seating area, there are options. Getting things from the concession stands are easy and hassle-free. The people that work at the Fred Kavli Theater are so nice and go above and beyond. Some are paid and some are volunteers. Last year I lost a piece of a ring and Kelly F. found it! I got to see her again this past week (July 2026) and thanked her again for going above and beyond. (I also sent emails to several folks at "toaks.org" email addresses to mention Kelly and two other great ushers for their help...I never heard back from anyone.) For parking, you might be able to find something on the street. Otherwise, it is about $16 cashless (credit/debit only) to park. There are a variety of show types that play at this venue. I really love the locations, the ease of getting in/out, and the seating options. I look forward to my next concert early in 2027!

One of them was blocking our aisle completely so we wouldn't have been able to get out in an emergency. The other was hooked up to some machine so it was like Darth Vader in an MRI--with the clicking any everything, so we asked to move and they moved us. But the biggest problem was that when we got there. I had a bottle of unopened water. I have to bring water as my blood sugar drops sometimes and I get dizzy and need water. It wasn't opened. We have gone there before and never had an issue. The "security" lady was rude, she told me to dump it out and get tap water inside. Um, NO! Then she reached her hands inside my bag moving all my things and you could see I literally only had the water, my wallet and sunglasses. I don't know what she's touches it was awful. She got mad when I said that I'd just go back to our car with the water, which is what we did. Sound reasonable? Okay, fair no water even if medically needed. BUT they ALLOW POT to be brought in and SMOKED which unless this is a cannabis event is NOT legal in California. That shocked us. They told us that people were allowed to smoke pot in there. I'm allergic to pot and water helps with that until I get to a hospital but it wasn't about me, it was that WATER wasn't allowed in there but POT is. Also they let a man with a knife go through. He asked, and they asked if he was going to use it and then let him through. They were so rude that we almost left. There is no reason to treat people with water like criminals and allow pot smokers to walk right in. "Smoking pot inside general performance theaters in Ventura County is illegal. Under the California Clean Indoor Air Law, smoking or vaping cannabis is prohibited in all enclosed workplaces, restaurants, bars, and public venues." But the woman searching my bag must be a pot smoker, that's the only explanation.
