Brightstar is by far the best thing my daughter has gotten involved in. She started classes over a year ago and now she is in every show for her age range and looks forward to it more than she has any other activity. The classes she gets are wonderful and builds confidence and assuredness as well as has built my girl a community of kids that understand her. I cannot recommend this place enough! Brynn works some miracles!

We recently treated our six year old granddaughter to her first live theater experience here for…read morethe performance of "Annie". We hoped that she would enjoy it, and indeed she did. It was so sweet to have her alternate at times from laying her head on Dear Hubby's shoulder and then mine. Sometimes she would sit up tall and lean forward at certain times in the show. After, she said, "I want to stay until the next one", thinking that the cast would be doing a second show right away the same day. She doesn't yet realize how much energy and effort goes into a performance like this, but I loved the positive reaction. The theater, while small scale and local, nonetheless does a great job of putting on entertainment which captivates their audiences. It's a blessing to have this venue close to home, away from the hassles and expense of going into L.A. Ticket prices are reasonable, parking is free, and the staff is friendly. The large cast managed to sing, dance, and act their way through a beloved classic musical on a smallish stage and made it work. Kudos to the visual technology that makes set decoration a new type of visual art. We're looking forward to seeing "Footloose" at the Arts Center soon.

Every lead was spot on. And the theater itself is a joy. Small enough that there isn't a bad seating the house (we were in the next to last row and had a great view of the stage). Will definitely keep my eye out for their revival stage performances for next season.

I must say, the theatre we were in to see the show was veryyyyy comfortable. The seats are spacious and soft and comfy to sit in. The theatre was smaller than I expected, but still fit so many people. Lighting and sound are great. Bar service is easy too, there were 3 different bars to choose from so we were able to head to the ones with the shortest lines. Drinks are a bit pricey though. Wonderful show, so much fun!!!! For Nurse John No photography until the end of the show when they announce that you can take a few pics.

There's no free street parking nearby, so you'll most likely have to pay $16 to park in the lot there. You're not allowed to bring in food or drinks because they sell those items inside, and they also probably don't want you bringing in anything that isn't permitted. They had plenty of staff working the event, from security guards to ushers, helping people find their seats. As for the ambience, the place was well-decorated throughout the inside it was actually really nice. I would definitely recommend it if there's a show you want to see and it's being held at the Civic Arts Plaza. Don't hesitate to buy those tickets just be aware that you'll probably have to pay for parking.

The talent of the student performers is endless. They put on great shows and the staging and direction is world class. It's better than going to LA to equity houses and all for a low price. We do have one suggestion -- please consider audience etiquette before going. We recently attended and a family of one of the cast members were just in a word -- gross. You don't have to wear a tux but a t-shirt with Spuds McKenzie from 1985, mom? Also not cool you cut us in line going in. Dad, there is no photographs or video in the theatre during performances. You made it hard for us to see as you attempted to be Wes Anderson moving around your seat on a swivel. Finally, your son/nephew/cousin is, yeah. It's cool. You seemed to be unaware when you yelled, "Go for it!" as he kissed a female cast member on the stage. Just a little self awareness is what we're suggesting here. Glad you support his theatre aspirations! If you're the student who this is about, I'm really sorry. They sure love you and that's all we could want for you. (We'd also pay to see you on Broadway, too. You are quite talented!) but you and your cast mates deserved better. In fact, we all did.

I'm really aurprised that more members of the community don't come to these great shows. The sets and the acting are just incredible. And the price is so affordable. We were originally seated in the balcony but got upgraded to the founders circle -- we were in the third row of the section, just off center. The seats were perfect, even for my family who are all around 5 feet tall -- we could see perfectly since the seats are angled. I also liked that there was a lot of room in between the rows so we weren't cramped. The man next to me was over 6 feet tall and his legs were nowhere close to the row in front of us, so that's not just a short person observation! If you're sensitive to noise, I would recommend bringing earplugs, because the sound in there is LOUD. You definitely won't have a problem hearing. I also read some reviews that said parking was difficult. Well, take it from this parking-challenged person -- it could not have been easier! Huge garage with equally huge parking spots. Yes, it could take a bit to get out since it's single file, but a car let me in very easily, and I literally got out of the venue in 5 minutes. I can't wait to experience more shows here!

There was enough leg room but if you're very tall, get an aisle seat! Don't waste money on the Founders Lounge upgrade. It's a smallish room with not that much seating and a cash bar. I'm still unclear what we paid for.
