They have always provided excellent service and have been accommodating every time I've had special requests. Last night, my brother, son, and I chose to eat there. My usual waitress Madeleine wasn't there, and we had a waiter who seemed to be new. I asked for my usual order, and the waiter came back and said the chef couldn't accommodate my request. The waiter was very nervous about it. It felt like the chef was setting the waiter up for failure as a form of hazing, but that's just my feeling. I questioned the waiter, asking for more information about why they couldn't fulfill an order I've been making every time I've gone in over the last six years, but he didn't have an answer, which I don't blame him for. My brother and I decided to leave, and one waitress came out and tried to get us to come back in and said she'd make it right, but my brother had already left, and I was already over it. I was fine with it and would have gone back in a few weeks, but then I received a phone call this afternoon from one of the owners, Santino, who basically told me that if I couldn't order from the menu, I shouldn't go back. He was incredibly rude, abusive, and unprofessional, and he made the situation worse than it needed to be. If this had been the first time I had ordered off menu, and they couldn't do it, it would have been no big deal in the first place. But I have been ordering this same meal every single time I've gone in for 6+ years. If you don't want to or can't accommodate special requests, make that clear on the menu. But don't make a loyal customer feel like crap for doing something that has never been a problem before. I will now never go back to this restaurant; they've lost a lifelong customer who has raved about this restaurant to everyone she knows.

The atmosphere is also strange? There are grills outside the front door, flour and other items stacked high in the hallway, soap and toilet paper shoved on the floor under the sinks. It feels very chaotic and unorganized. We were given a discount and key lime pie & a cookie for our "troubles". Even with the discount we were still over $100 for a bad meal.

The three of us were the only folks eating at around 6:30 pm. The waiter comes out, asks what we want to drink. Beer for two of us and wine for my boss. I scan the menu and there are a lot of choices in when it comes to steak. Two of ordered the ribeye and my boss ordered the filet. The dining room is small with several tables for a family, some dudes eating after work or a cool place for a date. Maybe a little dated but the service was very good. The waiter was on top of the drinks and the food. Salads came out almost immediately. I had the wedge salad with Italian dressing. Very fresh lettuce and not too much dressing. Everyone else was happy with their salads. I ordered another Yuengling (in a bottle-nothing on tap) and the steaks were out shortly thereafter. The meat covered a lot of the plate. I ordered medium well and it came a little under done but was still very good. Bang for the buck you can't do better. The au gratin potatoes were ok. I have never had potatoes like that before. I would try them again. The Cub itself has been there since 1939. Definitely a dive bar feel. Brick building, solid and well built. Definitely will try for a repeat if/when I'm back in Shreveport. If you're in town give them a try. Service in the Continental room is very good, food is of good quality and not too expensive.

The main complaint was the green beans - every other time we ate here they were fresh, steamed green beans. Yesterday we got bowls of soggy cut green beans that looked straight out of a can, which is insane for a place that charges $25-$40 per entree. The skirt steak was also not as good as the last few times, didn't come with the parsley sauce and it was tougher than usual. I will say the service was lovely and the rest of the food was up to par - the burger might be the best burger I've had in Shreveport. Just hoping they don't go down a path of cutting corners from here on out. Please no more canned green beans!

But the last time we went I got a martini up. Well it took them about half an hour to bring it to us and it was an up glass only half full. And warm. I had said please shake that sucker real good, I love a good cold martini. It was really awful. I dumped some ice in the small glass, but it wasn't the same. The steak was absolutely wonderful, best I have ever had. Not sure what the man does, but I get a 12 oz ribeye and eat the whole thing right then. My norm is half that. The appetizing are still overwhelmed with breading to where you cannot taste whatever it is you are eating. I would never order those again if I were to ever go back. And the home made french fries were almost white and did not taste like fresh made potatoes, they looked anemic and tasted to me like frozen fries. The cost is as much as Jack Binions. And Jack has excellent drinks, appetizers and sides. French fries are not on their menu but if you ask, they will make a big order of home made fresh french fried potatoes, nice and brown if you ask. Lastly, the parking sucks. There are only about 9 or 10 spaces in front of the place, which are nice and lit up and the owner is in one of those spots. So even getting there early you may not get to part out front. For all I know his other employees may also be taking up another spot or two. We finally decided that if there were not a spot when we got there we would just go somewhere else. Except that is the night I told you about with the warm martini so does not matter now. We are done with that place.

He does this in multiple states. I wouldn't work for him and I wouldn't patronize this scam artists establishment.
