Stopped in for a late lunch and couldn't have been more satisfied. We split the sampler platter,…read moremore than enough for two of us for lunch. We had the coleslaw and an extra order of BBQ beans - both great. To top it off we split a piece of pecan pie - very good. The staff was very friendly and we got to talk to the pit master. Don't pass this up if you're in town, we will be back when we pass through again.

We found Boudreaux's and boy, the ratings did not lie! First thing I noticed was the ambience. It was a nice, familiar southern vibe that I wasn't expecting to see in Colorado. Apologies in advance for not remembering names but, we were greeted by our server who was extremely friendly. She was prompt and attentive to our whole group. We put in our orders, I ordered the Loaded Baked Potato with Brisket, Loaded Mac & Cheese with Brisket and Baked Beans. Being that I consider myself not to be the biggest BBQ fan, not liking super smoky flavor, I was skeptical... I was very pleasantly surprised. Before getting to the food, I want to touch briefly on the owner and grill master of Boudreaux's. Again, very sorry I cannot remember his name but, after we spoke with him, I couldn't have been more eager to try his BBQ. He told us a little about his past and his experience in BBQ. He let us know that the larger racks of ribs weren't quite ready and brought out some "smaller" racks that were ready. These didn't seem small to me and my friends said that they were excellent. His passion in his craft is very admirable and reassuring that we came to the right place. I don't have anything to compare this brisket to as it is the first time I've had brisket but, I know that this was some damn good brisket. It was juicy, full of flavor and the "burnt" parts were surprisingly sweet. The beans were delicious with a nice sweetness. The Mac & Cheese was nice and creamy. The portions were definitely more than enough. All of it was great! I paid cash and I am writing this review a few days later so, I can't quite remember how much I paid - I know it wasn't pricy - and I'd absolutely pay it again! Thank you Boudreaux's for your hospitality and delicious BBQ! I wish you all the best!

We finally made our way to Fremont Public House before dinner at the 1887 Eatery (also in the Hotel…read moreSt. Cloud). It is a beautiful space with the original restored bar the centerpiece of space. We just had cocktails, but you can get a limited menu here too. For cocktails I tried one of their specialty drinks the Cowboy Jam (which actually has blackberry jam in it). It sounded odd, but was actually just a little fruity and sweet with a punch of booze. The hubby stuck to whiskey sours and loved them (they will make them with or without egg whites). For my last cocktail I just did an old fashioned with house bourbon and it was wonderful. They really made a balanced cocktail (not too sweet, just a hint of orange and bitters). Comfy barstools, friendly staff and big windows to people watch on the street. Or just take your drink into the very plush and welcoming hotel lobby. I loved it and wished we had come sooner, we will definitely be back and recommend it to others.

I asked for more rinds to go with my chili. I received 4, yes 4 on a plate. The pork had so much fat on it, I was having to cut it off with a knife before I could eat it. The bill came, I was totally shocked, I was charged $4.00 for the 4 pork rinds that were brought to me on a plate. I wasn't told there was an extra charge for more crackles. I was upset that the waitress, never said there was an extra charge, charging a $1.00 per pork rind is ridiculous. I was NOT impressed to say the least. We drove from Colorado Springs, I won't be coming back. I make better chili, no fat, just great flavor.
