When a man at the bar fell over on the floor and was not responding, 911 was called. The lady in charge became very upset about that and said we should notify the bartender first. Unless the bartender has medical experience and equipment, I disagree with her, and this could cause them to get into trouble in case of a medical emergency; medical attention would be delayed when an untrained bartender is the one to assess first.

We stopped in Canon City on our way to Salida and discovered this great coffee shop/cocktail bar…read more The place was really spacious and the staff made us feel welcome. Since it wasn't busy, we, party of four, got seated right away. We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato bisque and chicken nachos - both were tasty and well-made. To drink, we had two beers, a margarita, and a gin and tonic. The cocktails were decent. Overall, we had a great experience here.

Literally every other karaoke host in Fremont County is better! I love the ambience of this place, but for the love of God get a new different better karaoke host... Grumblings amongst the customers were calling it "mitches sing along " as he literally sang 20+ in a couple hours .. Also, why is he filming people? Are they signing consent forms for him to have video of them or is it posted that they will be filmed? This is kind of creepy.

Maybe cute the first time but annoying after that. DO NOT order beer on tap! It was flat. We got quarters and played pool. Karaoke started somewhere around 8 probably. We cashed out and went elsewhere. Small towns tend to cater to their local clientele. It might be fun on busier nights, but the drinks were terrible. We're in our forties, so a younger crew might like it better.

When my husband and I discussed wedding plans we decided on a private ceremony followed by a huge…read moreparty. We needed a venue to host 150-200 people in Canon City, but we didn't want some stuffy wedding reception. We wanted it to be fun! The Neon Bottle is truly a one-stop shop for a fantastic party! Full bar, dance floor, DJ, food, and Crystal is a great Coordinator for a very reasonable price. If you've ever planned a wedding, you know that each of these things can cost thousands of dollars and involve multiple vendors. They even have a billiard room with pool and darts and a lounge for good conversation. Crystal kept in contact with us, and we met regularly to plan our reception. I didn't really know what I wanted the party to be like. I thought, booze, dancing, and fried foods? She helped make it fun, personal, and classy. On the day-of, I didn't have to worry about anything, and everyone had a great time. IT WAS PERFECT! I recommend The Neon Bottle to anyone looking for an all-inclusive venue. Thank you, for making our special day extra special! Photo Credits: Key to Your Heart Photography.

8 Mile Bar & Grill -- Fried pickles, cold beer, and post-raft perfection…read more After a full day of rafting (read: screaming, paddling, bonding, and getting smacked in the face with joy and river water), we floated our hungry, soggy selves straight into 8 Mile Bar & Grill. It was like they were waiting for us--with cold drinks, fried things, and the promise of dry chairs. Beer selection? Generous. Beautiful. A full beer menu that made us feel seen. I got a shandy that tasted like summer vacation in a glass. Light, citrusy, and just what my inner "fun mom" needed after braving rapids and teenage attitudes. The kids were equally pumped about their soft drinks (probably because no one made them share or filter river water through a life straw). They were just happy. And quiet. Which is the dream. Now. Let's talk about the fried pickles. These weren't your average sad little slices. Oh no. These were spears. Like crunchy, salty dill torpedoes of happiness. We housed them like we hadn't eaten since breakfast. No regrets. Add in the cheese curds -- crispy, melty, glorious -- and you've got a fried food symphony worthy of applause (and maybe a Tums, but worth it). Service was fast, friendly, and unfazed by our damp, sunburned chaos. We left full, happy, and maybe a little bit in love with whoever invented shandies and deep-fried pickles. 10/10 would recommend post-adventure (or literally anytime you want to eat like you earned it).

Apparently, "to make it easier" they have turned into a counter service place with a very limited menu. Now, they never had a huge menu, but this is just bare bones. Their once famous chicken sandwich was dropped a couple years ago (guess it wasn't famous enough) and replaced with a more basic one. This year it was a thin recently frozen patty that was deep fried- not great. The cabbage on top was chopped at some point way earlier in the week, because it was discolored and wilted. The menu said it had a chipotle flavor, but it was just basic and bad. The fries - also clearly frozen - were ok, but battered in something and nothing to write home about. Oh and to get this overpriced frozen food you get to stand in a line at the front and order and wait at a table for it to be run out to you. Others got water from the bartender (even a dog), we were told if we wanted water we needed to fill our cup from the jug on the opposite wall. We did get our beer delivered. I only ate half of my food and I will not be back. Go next door to Whitewater, you will get decent food for the insane tourist trap money they charge- even if you have to sit on terrible seat and be assaulted by too loud country music - at least you get a waiter and a diverse menu that wasn't recently defrosted. Truly not worth a trip.
