Both the pulled pork and brisket were incredibly tender, flavorful, and delicious even without sauce, which says a lot about the quality of the barbecue. Me and my friends were in town for the Royal Gorge Route Railroad and were looking for a highly rated restaurant to eat at after the train ride. We found Boudreaux's and boy, the ratings did not lie! First thing I noticed was the ambience. It was a nice, familiar southern vibe that I wasn't expecting to see in Colorado. Apologies in advance for not remembering names but, we were greeted by our server who was extremely friendly. She was prompt and attentive to our whole group. We put in our orders, I ordered the Loaded Baked Potato with Brisket, Loaded Mac & Cheese with Brisket and Baked Beans. Being that I consider myself not to be the biggest BBQ fan, not liking super smoky flavor, I was skeptical... I was very pleasantly surprised. Before getting to the food, I want to touch briefly on the owner and grill master of Boudreaux's. Again, very sorry I cannot remember his name but, after we spoke with him, I couldn't have been more eager to try his BBQ. He told us a little about his past and his experience in BBQ. He let us know that the larger racks of ribs weren't quite ready and brought out some "smaller" racks that were ready. These didn't seem small to me and my friends said that they were excellent. His passion in his craft is very admirable and reassuring that we came to the right place. I don't have anything to compare this brisket to as it is the first time I've had brisket but, I know that this was some damn good brisket. It was juicy, full of flavor and the "burnt" parts were surprisingly sweet. The beans were delicious with a nice sweetness. The Mac & Cheese was nice and creamy. The portions were definitely more than enough. All of it was great! I paid cash and I am writing this review a few days later so, I can't quite remember how much I paid - I know it wasn't pricy - and I'd absolutely pay it again! Stopped in for a late lunch and couldn't have been more satisfied. We split the sampler platter, more than enough for two of us for lunch. We had the coleslaw and an extra order of BBQ beans - both great. To top it off we split a piece of pecan pie - very good. The staff was very friendly and we got to talk to the pit master. Stumbled upon this place after the train ride and was surprised of how amazing the food was. We got the brisket Mac and cheese and the brisket plate. The brisket had amazing flavor -it was very tender and juicy. The bbq sauces are made in house and were well balanced - not too sweet or artificial tasting. The portion sizes were great and this was super filling! We sat on the patio and it felt like I was at home in my backyard it was very cozy. Finally a truly GREAT BBQ place in Canon! Located in the old Brews and Bikes spot, Boudreaux's is truly great Q. Simple menu, but it they are all hits. I have tried the pulled pork (which is always my favorite), the brisket (which is wonderful here), the baked beans (truly the best beans in town) and the mac n cheese (always good) and everything is off the charts good. The spot is mostly unchanged from B&B days, so it keeps that laid back and nice vibe. Great patio. Good location on Main St. I hope it stays around for a looooong time! This is hidden place across the street from Di'Ritos. It looked good and given all these reviews we wanted to try it today. Walking in it has the great smell of BBQ, something that tells me it's going to be good. I was half right. We were seated right away though it is a smaller establishment, but enough spaced out to enjoy company. Pros: The brisket nachos with jalapeño was good. A lot of brisket and some cheese but with chips that added a nice saltiness to it. Cons: I ordered the half ribs and my husband ordered the pull pork plate. He got the wrong order but was too tired to ask for another. Brief good news is the brisket had a good char. Bad news is both our meat was dry and had to almost douse it in the BBQ sauce. For my side I ordered the dill pickle potato salad. It was over powering with the dill. I couldn't finish it. My husband ordered the Mac and cheese for his side, he said was OK. So overall our meal was so so. Recommended? Umm hard to say. We won't be back. But maybe someone can try it for themselves to make that decision. After a week of batting 1000 with my family on a Colorado tour vacation it was unanimous that I struck out with this one. First the goods - nice indoor and outdoor atmosphere and hardworking and caring wait staff (these things are perfect and don't need changing) The bads: On a Friday night at 7pm we are informed they are out of 4 of their 6 side items: no beans, no greens, no sausage and no Mac and cheese. Whaaat??? How does a BBQ restaurant run out of any of these? The side choices left: dill potato salad and cole slaw, which left two of the four of us without a real choice. Slaw was average, potato salad was okay. This apparently isn't the only time this has happened according to at least one other reviewer and quite frankly reflects poorly on management. We all had the pork BBQ and were all underwhelmed. Descriptors used were slimy, extremely fatty and mushy. Can't comment on the brisket but hopefully it is better. Of probably 50-60 BBQ places we have eaten over the last 30 years I would have to put this pork BBQ near the bottom. bottom line: for three of us we paid $15 each essentially for poor quality pork sandwiches and sides that we didn't want. . read more

Outstanding barbecue! The pork ribs were smoked all night and cooked to falling-off-the-bone perfection, and served with both mild and spicy sauce options. My husband loved his brisket sandwich. The sides were fantastic too - the baked beans were thick and flavorful, and the coleslaw was delicious and not overly sweet. Portions were generous and the price was right. Venue is spacious with plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating. My husband was thrilled with the beer selection and especially the Guinness. The server was friendly and attentive to just the right degree.
