Found out Thursday night that my cousin died and the funeral was Saturday so had to cancel. I called Friday morning and got no answer and no option to leave a message. I had to go into work and in my work setting I cannot have my phone and have no access to one. At lunch I went out to my car and called to cancel and was told I'd have to pay the cancelation fee of 25%. I explained the situation and the lady who answered the phone showed no sympathy or empathy and repeated it was policy. My appointment was to be at 9am Saturday. Found out about funeral at 8pm Thursday. Called Friday at 7am before walking into work and can't leave a message. Called around 11:30 when I took lunch. I even offered proof, which I shouldn't have to do. Now I get a lot of people screw companies over and why they gave this policy, however, in some situations it's beyond our control and they need to show grace. I will no longer give them my business.
