Cute space with alot of different offerings from coffee to lunch to ice cream. This place is trying to do it all with little staff. Service is attentive but incredibly slow. 2 people working at the guzzle for the coffeebar/lunch station, icecream counter, candy counter, and general store. I understand that this is on a remote island but it seemed like more help was needed. The store is picturesque and not practical. I had a chicken salad sandwich for lunch which delicious. Given that this is one of the only restaurants on the island I can totally see the challenge in keeping this place running and I was grateful to have some food options. Just the cutest place ever!!!! Been coming to the islands for 20 years and how have I never been here before?!?!? Located in the cutest most quaint little town right out of the movies where kids can ride their bikes freely and come to this establishment and leave feeling like kings and queens! My husband told me he used to come to this place as a kid and it was known for its "penny candy". Fast forward to 2023 and post fire and rebuild and they still have their candy nook and I found it to be quite affordable. While it's not "penny candy" you can still get individual Swedish fish for one cent. Other than that everything else is $.25, $.50 and up to a few dollars. You can still walk out of there feeling like a king or queen and having only spend a buck or two. They have great priced ice cream offerings too. (I was slightly disappointed in the flavor options but not worth docking them a star for this) Moms/dads u can get a coffee, breakfast and shop in their mini convenience store area too. Seating both inside and out! Make sure to visit the upstairs. One half is dedicated to toddlers with a tent, books, toys and more. The other section is for the teens and soon to be teens. Pool and a hang full of video games and claw machines. Bring your quarters! Also this lace is located right across the street from Vintage like playground. Has a mix of old metal slides and climbers along with some more modern play spots too. It's also located across from the basketball courts so if u need a pick-me-up or a throat quenching Gatorade.... Food is pretty terrible. Ordered the Thai salad with chicken. Salad was wilted and brown, smothered in some sort of oily dressing without much flavor. Reminded me of a bagged salad kit from the grocery store that had sat on the self for too long and started to go bad. The salad is served in a wax paper lined basket with large holes and the dressing leaks through it all over the table. Also tried the kids burger bowl. GROSS! Looked like the sort of thing your dog may throw up after eating out of the trash can all day. It's not a burger patty, it's loose ground turkey smothered in some sort of "special sauce" that seemed like watered down thousand island dressing. Menu is very deceiving, it all sounds good but it is not what you get when you pick up your order. The salad was missing some of the components and was iceberg, not mixed greens. read more

She was the rudest person we have encountered all summer long. We are long time summer residents of Murray Island. What a shame to have such a witch in this idyllic setting. read more

I visited the area on a morning in early October. The place was not busy. Probably because it was close to the end of the season. It was a cool and breezy day. So finding a place for a warm coffee was very welcomed. And it even had comfortable seats to enjoy drinking the coffee. The coffee tasted good. The building has a great vintage vibe. A very casual place to eat on 1000 Island Park. You go inside and order from the cashier and they bring it out to you. Kinda small selection of menu items. The workers are all teenagers there for a summer job and they were all nice. My grilled cheese was very average but good and was about $5. We also went back later for ice cream and the portions were very large. They serve Hershey's ice cream. read more

Great stop if you're visiting the Thousand Islands! Really nice market space with seating inside and outside. Local products like Finger Lakes salt, candles, chocolate, etc. There's a coffee bar, and they do offer breakfast and lunch sandwiches which they will bring to your table. Everyone was friendly except for the server who brought our food out. I wanted to go back here but it is kind of far if you're not staying on the mainland. Definitely work this into cool spot your plans! It would be fun to grab some coffee and stroll around looking at the gingerbread houses. read more

We were in the area for a few days and looking for a breakfast spot that was clean and had good food (we were striking out at all the other places we tried in the cleanliness department). This was a nice little surprise in the small town. Very large and open with lots of seating, cafeteria style, pretty clean too. You place your order at the counter, take a number and then they deliver to your table. Quick service, all 6 of us got our food within 10 minutes. Not very impressed with The Guzzle. I walked in hungry and ready to spend some money and walked out still hungry and with just a few odds & ends. The building itself is vintage-style and very nice, but the rest was lackluster. Decent selection on the candy counter. Hard ice cream only...it's summer, I want soft serve. Teenage staff are snooty and borderline rude. Prices are outrageous! I paid over $8 for a small bag of cheese curd that would normally be about $5 elsewhere in the North Country. Baked goods were ok but clearly not homemade. Lemon loaf was from a mix, brownies were most definitely a Ghirardelli brand mix, which is what I buy if I'm making them at home but if I buy a brownie in a store with an ample baked goods table, I kind of expect it to be homemade. Don't expect your coffee order to be great, I overheard the "barista" asking a man if he wanted coffee in his cappuccino. Wouldn't know how to order actual food, it was very unclear. We walked in without being greeted and there was nothing saying to seat yourself or wait for a server for a table. I've been going to the guzzle for over a decade, but it all changed after it was rebuilt. The staff has seemingly not been trained and have no consistency on ice cream portions. Kids and teenagers seem to get smaller scoops than adults. The register doesn't have price options for many things so you can get overcharged even further. The candy selection is abysmal and it's very overpriced, and the candy counter used to be a lot larger. The food selection isn't great, and the quality is horrendous. Either charge a reasonable price for it or make it better. There used to be a grocery store in the building before it burnt, but their terrible excuse for one now is worthless. They overbuilt and underdelivered. It used to be a place where people went to lunch, dinner, and dessert, and got groceries and mail and returned bottles, but now it's a place people gripe about. It's not worth going there for food, and we'd all rather go to The Gals for ice cream. You can't even buy much of anything for groceries, and the building is not much better looking than the empty field. At least with the empty field our thoughts were of the happy times we had. First off the woman that is running the guzzle is a total bitch (sabrina) She wouldn't even make eye contact with me. I waited outside because the website said they opened at eight on Fourth of July and when I asked her she had no clue about it,(she is running the restaurant so I'm pretty positive she wrote that on the website). I am extremely taken back at the atmosphere and how it doesn't match anything that they have previously had years back, ever since the guzzle burn down the runners have done a great job at making sure people feel like they are at the old guzzle but this woman made me feel like I was a bother for even wanting some breakfast. I asked for tomato on my breakfast sandwich and she claimed that she didn't know if they sliced it yet. I asked her if she could go check in she had a attitude with me for that, sorry I like tomato on my breakfast sandwich it is not that hard to cut up. My friend ordered food because I opted out once I got terrible service and we were the first people to order in the restaurant that day, we had waited all morning since the website said 8 am. why was my friend the last person to get her food out of everybody? It is a breakfast sandwich the woman that we were talking to said that our food was next up and brought it out cold. The presentation was not there. The attitude was absurd absurd. I am taken back at the attitude she gave us for simply wanting breakfast but I'm not surprised because I have heard that she is not a nice woman. Update: today I dragged my husband and child there for lunch bc I was starving after playing at the park all morning. My expectations were low and they still didn't meet them. After waiting 15ish min or so to get someone to come get or order we waited another 50 min for our food before I had enough and cancelled my order. People who came in after us had already finished their meals while we still waited with an empty table. It is like they are allergic to making money. Overall I wouldn't recommend the food or the ice cream portion of the guzzle and I am not willing to give the store a try. Original review: The staff isn't friendly or seem like they want to be there, they are also super slow. The scoops are tiny and the cones are never filled. If you want sprinkles that is extra which is fine but they literally graze the top of the cone in them leaving you paying extra for a couple sprinkles. Their choice of ice cream is poor and their outdoor signs never actually match what they have making the line move even slower. Lastly when we arrived for our visit the prices were posted and then later in the week they upped their prices. This place has so much potential maybe next year they will be great again. read more

The Guzzle has been a huge disappointment for the last several years. Absolute garbage service and quality. Today there was a sign that said open until 8 and when the line is done. Tonight we rushed dinner in two separate families to get there for the kids to have an ice cream from the guzzle. Well 7:50 we arrived the guzzle was dark and no one in sight. It was still light outside until about 8:30. Ridiculous. Terrible service. You should be ashamed of what you think you are providing. FYI - last Summer it took 2.5 hours for an adult and 5 kids to get an extremely overpriced lunch. This needs to change. Why bother rebuilding this beautiful building after the fire to have absolute terrible quality and service. Btw there is nothing less than a $12 hot dog and $14 plain burger on this menu. Additions cost more. Why would you ever?? It's a shame this staple has become a sh*t show. Get it together and the business will thrive. read more

Pleasently surprised. We stopped by on Friday and expected greasy spoon meal. What we got was excellent fresh fish fry, homemade potato chips tri tip steak sandwich and more. We were told that new management took over, and I can assure you that this food was absolutely amazing, classic American style surrounded by true atmospheric pleasure. This is our second time eating lunch here in a week. The servers are friendly, but they are clearly out of their league. My guess is that their manager (do they have one?) hasn't ever trained them to do the following tasks, in this order. Customer "Seat yourself", take a drink order, deliver the drink order, take a food order, deliver the food order, check "how is everything" and then bring the check. There was absolutely NO system to take care of customers in an orderly, timely way. Our server had to be prompted with each of these steps. A family with young children was still waiting for food after we were done eating (they sat down before us). The first time our food was delicious. This time my grilled chicken on a sandwich was so burned that it was incredibly bitter. But I had no opportunity to ask for a different item. Please please please give the waitstaff the training they need and a system to follow. They deserve way better. The location is gorgeous and very convenient and the first visit the food was very tasty, which is the only reason it merits two starts and not one star. read more
