This is one the better barber shops I've been to in my travels. The place is very clean and welcoming. Matt and Mike are very professional and courteous. Upon walking in I was greeted by both and Matt offered me a complimentary drink. Mike was my barber and he was able to give me the exact type of haircut I wanted based on the pictures I provided him and he listened to the fine detail I gave him (small natural looking part line). I wish I lived closer to the area so I could be a regular, but I will definitely stop by if I'm in the area visiting my Aunt!forewarning they do accept walk-ins, but I highly recommend setting up an appointment via their squarespace site. They are very competitively priced compared to the commercial hair cut businesses. Definitely would recommend this place for anyone looking for a good cut and excellent service! I saw great reviews for this place but unfortunately that was not the experience that I had. I just wanted to find my son a good barbershop and we were excited to go after years of me cutting his hair. We scheduled an appointment with Matt a week in advance then it was cancelled same day and asked to reschedule, we did. A few days later on the day of appt again, another reschedule request came thru. Well... I really wanted to give this place a try but they need a lesson in customer service. Especially first impressions. I'm sure if we were able to get our appt we would have been very happy with the results. We'll never know. read more

My husband and son have always had good experiences at The Grumpy Barbers, but this is the first time I've been to the shop with my son. From the ease of online booking, through the Covid safety protocols, to the end result of my son's haircut, I was impressed. Matt Martin is terrific. He's been cutting my hair for years now, and I've never walked out with a less than perfect cut. The shop is clean, comfortable, and exudes a feeling of "you are a man, and you're going to get your hair cut like a man should!" Personally, Matt is a truly great guy - friendly, interesting, funny, and he used to cut Jeff Garlin's hair (Murray Goldberg from ABC's "The Goldbergs")! Headed to the triangle region for some job interviews and wanted a clean up. I didn't know you needed reservations for him but Matt fit me in after about 20 minutes. The amazing Yuengling beer he offered me totally helped pass the time!! Matt cut hair in Philly before this, so he knows what he's doing. I was glad to meet someone else who wasn't a local and was able to get a gist of the Triangle Region. Coming from NY they don't seem to like us down there that much!!
