Last night our team had the pleasure of dining at the Grove Restaurant in Delavan, NY and we can confidently say that it is a little hidden gem on State Route 16 in this small town. Aren't small towns the best? First we ordered the seafood bisque and French onion soups. Heaven in a cup right here. What a great start on a very cold evening. My dining companions and I had the pleasure of trying both the large and small famous fish fry and they were cooked to perfection. The coleslaw, made with homemade dressing, was absolutely amazing and the perfect complement to the crispy, flaky fish. In addition to the fish fry, we also tried the grilled chicken with creamy mashed potatoes that were heavenly. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, and the mashed potatoes were so smooth and delicious. We also tried the Ruben sandwich and it was absolutely divine. Each bite was a perfect balance of tangy sauerkraut, savory corned beef, and melty Swiss cheese. The atmosphere at the Grove is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are incredibly friendly and attentive. I highly recommend stopping by the Grove if you find yourself in Delavan. Whether you're in the mood for a classic fish fry, a comforting grilled chicken, or a heavenly sandwich, the food at the Grove is sure to satisfy. Don't miss out on this little hidden gem in Delavan. Thank you for a wonderful evening from The Essence of Travel and Discoveries, a KAMAR Media Film Production Company.

Wellsville has a few gems for southern tier food and this place is often hyped for being a must try…read morein this area. I would agree- it definitely lived up to its name. This is a roast beef place. Flip to the back page and you want to try their roast beef entrees. The meat melts in your mouth. I recommend pairing this with their red skinned mash potatoes. I recommend a medium or medium rare to really appreciate the quality of this roast. We also ordered their fish tacos to change variety. get the Haddock for better moisture- mahi was the other option but I find mahi to be sometimes too fishy and dry unless paired with a more "Caribbean" vibe. Haddock holds a fish fry better in the taco. Unfortunately their slaw was not my fav. too sweet. It was like someone added an extra scoop of honey/sugar. I am definitely trying a roast beef sandwich or their ribs next time. Atmosphere was also great. Had that old school old pub feel but the exterior looked modern. Staff were friendly enough- our waitress was on their brisker end but nothing to where it affected our experience. Pricing was also reasonable for the quality of food. it won't break your wallet but probably couldn't eat there daily.

I'll take that one step further and let you know that I lived in Houston TX for 5 years and my friend lived in SC for 7 years, Beef Haus has the best ribs we've ever had in OUR LIVES! Such a cute place! So clean! So welcoming! Amazing Friendly owner, bartenders, and waitresses every single time. Outdoor seating in the summer. Beautiful private room to reserve. Great menu, meats, beer selection, wine selection, cocktails, and desserts. I found them a year ago and I've been back 5 times (I live 92 minutes away and drive there just for them). This place is 100 times better than the shell of what beef and barrel is currently and 20 times better than beef eaters. You need to do yourself a favor and experience Beef Haus before they sell and retire in the next few years!

The bartender who had worked at the restaurant for 7 years was working her very last shift- Ordered a bottle of wine- not available Tried another not available finally just said what do you have?? Got some Pinot Grigio that wasn't cold nor was I asked to taste... Anyway asked if there was still prime rib available- was told yes! Not surprised due to the 12 people in the entire restaurant. Got a shrimp cocktail served in a warm pasta bowl. Shrimp were mediocre at best $20 for 6- cocktail sauce was cumin scented not sure why... Fast forward to ordering the main course...we were told no Prime Rib was left??.... WHAT??? Decided to get the check and left. I would strongly recommend you to not even walk in the door to start with.

The Scarlet Vetter says.....First off, I really love this restaurant. The service, ambiance, and…read morethe food are top notch. Simply great. The owner is present almost all the time tending to things and checking in on tables. I have never ever had a bad meal here. Like not ever. Not even a mediocre meal. Always rates very good to great. From the steaks. To the seafood, to the Italian specialties.....just tops. It is hard to get into during the ski season, and not too easy even off season, so please do plan and make a reservation. If you can snag a booth, that is the best. The bar is a great place to come for a drink with a friend or to watch a sporting event. My most recent visit to the restaurant was this past Friday, a nice night in early May. We met some friends here for dinner. We had two appetizers of stuffed peppers which are absolutely amazing with just the right amount of heat, and the Nona's Meatball with gooey rich ricotta cheese.....yum yum. My husband ordered a house salad, which was crisp and delicious. For entrees, our companion couple ordered the twin filets and the fish fry. Both were reported to be fantastic. My husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan and I ordered the Chicken Milanese. Absolutely excellent. For dessert, both couples shared their own order of Tiramisu. I ordered an Espresso and that simply rounded out an amazing dinner. I really can't recommend this place enough.

Service was great and super friendly and we were seated immediately around dinner time. Since it was the "battle" it was loud inside but we didn't mind. Villagio's lies on the sidestreet in what looks like an old barn. It has a unique rustic charm that we enjoyed. It's an italian based restaurant that offers bread with olive oil and seasonings to start. We didn't realize that and also got cheesy bread which comes with a red sausce. Both were delicious. For entrees I ordered bucatini carbonara with chicken and my wife ordered the filleto's. Pricing was reasonable in the $20-$30 range per peson. We enjoyed the visit and had a great time!

I'll start off by saying i've been to the Yard of Ale maybe a handful of times in my life but it…read morewas once operated by one of my ancestors, J.D. McGuire, in the 1800s when it was the Genesee Hotel - this restaurant has about a century and a half of history in the area and deserves to be classified as an historic landmark. It is also one my grandmother's favorite restaurants, and she's eaten there for decades. Last night, she turned 95 and we put the old YoA to the test, booking a dinner party for roughly 20 people, in the restaurant's private room. Our waitress was absolutely on her game, getting orders for drinks, appetizers, meals and dessert out as promptly as she could given the size of our party with no mistakes or fumbling of people's orders. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and the Tournados (steak fillets with seafood stuffing and hollandaise sauce) with rice pilaf as my main course, and both were delicious. The kitchen will do steak all the way down to rare but won't serve it blue, probably for safety reasons since they're not a dedicated steakhouse. For dinner I got the NY cheesecake with wild strawberries and sauce, and it was wonderful. A five course meal (bread, appetizer, salad, main, dessert) plus drinks cost me a little shy of $90, so I thought the price was more than fair. The wine list is limited (I asked for a dry white wine and got a choice between a sauvignon blanc and a pinot grigio. I went with the blanc and it was light, crisp, and delicious with a lot of pear notes - a good choice on the part of whoever on the YoA's staff handles sommelier duty. I didn't get a chance to ask the waitress for a snapshot of the bottle and I wish I had. For a cocktail, I ordered an old fashioned, and this is the kind of place where you can go up to the bar and order a cocktail like that and the bartender won't bat an eye before getting out the muddler. If it's your birthday, be sure to tell the waitress - I believe that they give you a free lava cake dessert for your birthday. If you order a dish like the chicken parm here the portion they serve you will be massive - two or three breaded chicken cutlets covered with mozz over pasta and sauce. This is not a restaurant that does haute cuisine portions; the old roadside inn sensibilities remain in place in places like the YoA, you expect to be fed and feed you they will. Now that I've said all that, remember, de gustibus - but if you're visiting Letchworth Park or otherwise out in Livingston County I recommend you call and book a table. And you should absolutely call ahead, the locals tend to pack the place.
