This place is your typical hotel restaurant. They serve the standard breakfast buffet. I have not tried lunch nor dinner here yet.

Great patio to sit on during nice weather. We ordered the chocolate pancakes as well as the berry and cream and both were delish! Don't forget to try the chorizo.

Since then, we always look out for a Bills throughout the country on our travels. Three of us arrived, unreserved, for a table. OK, lets say we are 'oldies', and proud of it. The restaurant was heaving which is pleasing to see with this era of coronavirus. We were asked to wait while a table was cleared, cleaned and relaid. Meanwhile a younger couple with their family arrived and were shown immediately to a table, UPSTAIRS. Obviously, the young 'front of the house' lady had decided we couldn't have made it up the stairs. She was probably right and we were grateful. Within minutes our table was ready. A wonderfully comfortable booth. Our orders of full English, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and eggs Benedict were brilliant as was the coffee. It is also great to receive freshly squeezed orange juice and not the thin, watery, 'juice'. Service was second to none by two young ladies. Fast, efficient, friendly yet professional. Pricing is more than reasonable. I am always apprehensive about the 10% service charge. I have no objection to paying it as I would, for good service, leave a 10% tip but does it go to the staff. So many companies now put it into their profits.

This is a very nice place to come enjoy a tea and home made scone or some of the excellent food, should the main restaurant not be in your budget/closed. The menu is fairly limited for dining, but the quality matches that of the main restaurant. In some cases, the prices are a bit steep for a lunchtime meal, but with the ingredients used I can understand. Like the main restaurant the ethos here is quality. Happily, if you want a fresh smoothie, drink or a sandwich all are available at reasonable rates. There is also a lovely Mezzanine that is open on nice days in the summer and becomes a very pleasant location to while away an afternoon. be warned that the place can get invaded by affluent pensioners out for their tea and cake, but they kind of add to the ambiance of a tearoom with the major and duchess sitting at table 4 and the brigadier enjoying a slice of Victoria sponge opposite. They will also hire out the cafe for party events if you are looking for something a bit more upmarket and offer pre-order takeaway for catering occasions. Vera is also very sweet and enthusiastic about the venture. Again, quality ingredients and cuisine echo the ethos of the restaurant in the cafe. Good stuff!

We visited in Sept 2011 and discovered that the tables are left dirty inside and not wiped down once a customer had left. We then decided to sit in the garden area, but could see that the tables and chairs were not ready for customers to sit outside, chairs are left propped up against the tables which again had not been wiped down, they were full of puddles of rain from the night before. We found that out of three members of staff, one was excellent and hard working the other two could not be bothered. We had travelled up from Muswell Hill, North London and were disappointed.
