Cute little cafe in a historic setting. The menu isn't extensive, but they do have a nice variety of sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. The coffees are good as well. There's an outside patio, but the sun really beats down and the chairs out there aren't particularly comfortable, but overall I enjoyed my experience here. read more

What a find!! I had an amazing breakfast, scrambled eggs, waffle and a fancy coffee, while enjoying the scenery. Leave your "city rushing"in the car, enjoy the chill vibe and relax. The staff works hard, but the kitchen is small, so there may be a wait, which is perfect. The house is set up, where you order first, then find a comfy spot. Several two tops, some living room chairs and a lovely spot outside. All are comfy and welcoming. My food was amazing!!! A few weeks later, I still think fondly on this spot. read more

When you think of cozy coffee houses, this is the place. It's an adorable little garden Café with lots of vintage furniture pieces, games to play, books to read and a cozy fireplace for cooler months. We love to camp out here in mornings and play card games. On a day off because we don't even live remotely close to here. The coffee here is fantastic. I'm not sure what type of grounds they use but the coffee has the perfect smooth flavor. They make a lot of fun, seasonal drinks and today we tried the s'mores cold brew and the. Sunflower latte. They make the perfect breakfast sandwich with spinach, sausage, and eggs (the general), and the breakfast Panini's are pretty great. I usually end up ordering the pesto breakfast Panini, which is basically a Caprese a sandwich with some pesto. The waffles here outstanding they are loaded with lots of berries, whipped cream and syrup. The chunky monkey is one of my favorites and it has peanut butter, sliced bananas, honey, and lots of whipped cream on a Belgian waffle. The waffle is pretty big and definitely shareable with the table. They have lots of places to sit here, including an outdoor patio. I've noticed that this place is becoming more and more popular, so be sure to come early and save a seat because you'll be hanging out here for a while. read more

Beautiful building surrounded by beautiful nature. Staff were very friendly from the moment you walk in. Ordered the pesto panini and quinoa salad. Not a fan of the salad, a bit sour but I can see others liking it. The panini was delicious. Taking one star just because it takes time to get your food. Also, you can purchase most of their plants! Ranging from $30-$60, at least that what I saw around where I was sitting. You may enjoy your meal and drinks indoors or at their yard. Love how cozy it feels! read more

After hiking the AT nearby at Penn-Mar we have stopped here a couple of times. The setting is great in the old Colnel's home from the base. But the sandwiches are just great! Service is good and someday we might be here when we could sit on the outside deck. Order a sandwich and you won't be disappointed. We will be back. read more

Really enjoyed the Buffalo Dill sandwich and the quinoa salad! My kids enjoyed the ham and cheese panini but the apples it was served with were already very brown (Thought that was odd, kids wouldn't touch them) and 2 regular Oreos instead of the homemade cookie the sign stated. Be prepared to wait- we only had one couple in front of us ordering on Saturday at 12:30pm. After they ordered I had to wait about 3-5 minutes until someone said "I'll take your order in just a sec". Once we ordered, I noticed there were only two other tables were waiting on food but they had their coffee. It took over 35 minutes from the time I ordered until we received anything, iced coffees and our 3 sandwiches. We got two sandwiches, a kids sandwich, and 2 iced lattes for $37. After a couple sips I realized I was not given the oatmilk I ordered in mine (I'm not allergic to regular milk but I did pay extra for the oat). Enjoyed it but wouldn't order a kids meal or dine in next time- would rather order to-go if the owners will post the updated menu online. read more

I have been several times and have never been disappointed. Good coffee and excellent food offerings. I like their breakfast sandwiches the most. I'm always greeted by the great staff and the historic building has been upgraded for seating. Both conventional and lounge areas, as well as a patio. Great place to relax. read more

Loved this dip into history and friendly service! The cafe is located in a historic house on the edge of the Fort Ritchie complex-- which is in the process of redevelopment into more of a historic and outdoor destination (we loved the new Fort Ritchie museum!). The food is not fancy, but my bagel sandwich arrived fresh and hot. My husband raved about his latte, and I had a tea, which was nicely brewed. We loved the comfortable rooms within the cafe, with great seating, magazines, books, and antiques (some for sale)--and a lovely outdoor terrace. Even the restroom had a pretty painted mural to enjoy. This earnest and welcoming cafe deserves success, and it is my hope it will expand its hours (now closes at 3) to tea on the weekends. Tea on the terrace with sconces and jam, with the view of the lake and historic fort would be heaven. I hope they consider this! read more

We went late morning for breakfast and lunch. You place your order and the staff brings it to your table or booth. The huge egg, cheese and sausage sandwich was delicious. I chose the panini and soup. My ham and turkey panini was also delicious as well as the chicken noodle soup. You can walk around Fort Ritchie and then enjoy the cafe. This cute cafe would also be a great place for book clubs to meet. read more

Truly the perfect little Cafe. The scenery, patio and building are gorgeous, with so much lovely art and decor to really make you feel cozy. The staff are so sweet and bubbly. The breakfast sandwiches are served all day, and mine was to die for! I got an everything bagel with bacon, egg and cheddar. My iced latte was perfection, with just the right amount of sweetness. Lightly decorated, very old building, but quaint. The food is hot and fresh but just okay (they got my order wrong a few times). The coffee is great though and I appreciate how the signs tell you where and who roasted the beans. I need to ding them for service thought because after a few times eating here within the last couple of months, the service keeps getting slower and worse for me. It takes me on average 10 minutes to be spoken to when I get to the front register- no one gives me the courtesy of asking me to wait or giving me eye contact at all. As soon as the people in front of me order, the girls just turn their backs to me and start making coffee for other folks or getting together napkins. I'm standing there awkwardly and this last time, I noticed it's not until another person lines up behind me that then I'm told to "hold on." When I finally do get to order, then it's another 40-45 minutes waiting on two paninis. Not sure if the staff needs more training or if they need to hire more people, but can't say I'll be back anytime soon. read more
