I searched the internet for a place that sold paleo desserts and Green Fork came up. It opens at 7am so I arrived around 7:15-7:20am. The woman that helped me was extremely nice and gave me all the options for paleo desserts. They do not add any artificial sugar like stevia which is great. I stumbled upon this wonderful place on my walk to the garden district. It was right on time because I had some breakfast that was so greasy that it made my stomach hurt. I went inside and told the employee my problem and asked if she had any suggestions on what juice would help settle my stomach ache. She suggested Silence and she offered to add some mint to aid in digestion. The juice was superb. In 30 minutes my stomach wasn't twisting in awful knots! I was relieved. It's not cold pressed so you know it's very fresh. Be patient because all that yumminess in a cup takes a minute. I love the availability of healthy and wholesome foods to-go, although their smoothies/juices are fantastic as well. It's a lifesaver when I'm visiting for a week and feel like I need to eat healthy and nourishing food after eating out way too much. The food is straightforward but have the usual amazing set of ingredients you'd expect from a health food store - your nutritional yeast, greens, wholesome dressings, plenty of veggies in all manner of combinations that are delicious. The hummus and roasted veggie sets are my favorite, but they also have an assortment of raw, paleo, and vegan options too. Last Time Ever. Been coming in here since about 2016, maybe longer? I know it's overpriced but I kept paying for some fresh food and/or a juice on the go and the convenient location. SEVERAL times the woman (I believe her name is Stephanie? Owner with reddish hair) behind the counter has been extremely rude to me. She acts as if she's is doing you a favor to take your money, may talk over you, many times will ignore you, &/or sometimes will sit and talk to other customers and act as if you don't matter. After all these years and all the money I have given this place I won't be treated like this again. I will just call this a motivation to make my own salads or grab a juice elsewhere. I am more than offended by the way she treated me today. Even the one other customer in the place looked at me with a look of "wow, I'm sorry" when she witnessed Stephanie's behavior. Here's a tip: treat people with some manners, kindness & dignity when they spend hard earned money in your establishment....all of them, not just a few. read more

We were staying downtown while visiting the city, but made the trip over here several times just to grab a smoothie. The ingredient combinations are thoughtfully crafted and delicious without any modifications. We had to wait a while on one of our trips, because they were custom designing a special menu and making the items fresh for a customer who hadn't been feeling well. Worth the wait to witness that level of service and expertise. read more

I was pleased to find this health food haven a short walk from my AirBNB in NOLA and hurried there my first morning in town to fortify myself with nutrients before a long day of sightseeing in the heat! We ended up at The Green Fork by accident because Seed, a vegan restaurant located across the street, was closed. What a mistake... It is important to note, that despite the disappointment of Seed being closed, I came in excited. The place is adorable. I told the woman behind the counter that. I further reinforced that by taking a bunch of pictures of the beautifully painted wall, the food, the menu, etc. Despite the fact that there was chicken salad in their refrigerated case I felt like I was in vegan heaven! The woman behind the counter couldn't have been more weird or rude. While I was in the middle of ordering she walked away. I hadn't finished ordering or paid but she decided to go make my juice (behind a wall) without saying anything. Weird. I was starving so after what felt like 5 minutes (but was probably realistically less) I decided to grab a fork and eat some salad. The vegetable component was delicious and fresh but the dressing was thick and sweet. I wasn't feeling it so I apologized that I didn't like it, and asked if I could switch dressings. This felt like a reasonable request, but was clearly not in her eyes. She reluctantly offered me balsamic. I asked if there were other options and she said "curry," to which I said "Perfect. I'd love that." She decided to explain to me what curry was to which I responded "I know what curry is. I'd like that. Thank you." She left, presumably to get me curry dressing, but never came back. My matcha latte had sounded delicious. It was actually a lot like a matcha latte I order from my favorite vegan coffee shop back in Florida. Sadly it was not. It had WAY too much lemon. I couldn't taste the matcha over it in fact. I told the girl that I was sorry, but I really didn't like the latte, and asked if I could switch it for a plain coffee and milk. She once again walked away. A man came out to talk to me about it. I explained I didn't like the drink and asked if I could just get a coffee with oat milk. He questioned whether or not I'd had oat milk before which felt a bit condescending but I told myself he was just making sure I would like the replacement beverage. He was not very friendly, but initially didn't seem as rude as the woman was. I wish I could end on that positive happy note, but sadly I can not. This is thanks to the man who I initially gave too much credit for being kinder than the woman. When my friend's coffee came out with the wrong milk he was unapologetic and said she didn't specify milk. She had definitely ordered it with oat milk, (and even if she hadn't wouldn't they have asked what milk she wanted?) but he kept saying she hadn't and questioning her if she was sure. What kind of customer service is that?!? He ended up asking her if she'd just drink the one with cashew milk. She was flabbergasted and said "fine," but I said "no, please make her the drink she ordered." We had paid $34 and I wanted her to have the correct drink. This request was greeted by rudeness. I told him I was surprised by the bad service and rudeness because I frequent juice shops across the US and am used to everyone who works in said shops being such friendly positive people. I normally want to be best friends with everyone in juice shops. I also told him how the woman earlier had walked off and still hadn't given me dressing 15 minutes later despite the fact that my friend and I we were the only people in the shop. He responded by telling me they didn't have the dressing despite it sitting in the case just five feet away. At this point I had already eaten my salad without dressing so it didn't matter, but wow... I told him I was going to give him a negative review and he said "Please do! Anyone who sees it will know what kind of person you are and won't care." He continued on to break down how awful he thought my character is and tell me that I'm a miserable person who came in with a horrible attitude. I told him I actually was quite a happy positive person, and that I had come in on a great attitude. I told him that I had come in and complemented the decor and menu and took a ton of pictures. His response was to ignore everything I had said, and tell me I was never going to be happy in life. I told him he was being a dick (mean I know, but at this point really called for.) He responded by telling me I needed a dick. I was hot with anger and shot back with "You need a dick," and he said "I'd love a dick. Are you going to put it in my ass?" As I was walking out his final words were "Have fun frequenting juice shops across the US!" Ummm, I will thank you. I will not however ever frequent this juice shop again. read more

Work in the area and have been eating healthier, so I thought I'd give this a try. I walked in and quickly realized some sandwiches and salads are a grab and go option. No problem there. I paid $10 for my Cesar salad and walked out. I wanted chicken, but they were out and in the process of making more. This wasn't an issue as the salad was more than enough for lunch. However, the issue is with the quality of the salad. Cesar salad is simple enough - croutons, dressing, cheese, and lettuce - so the ingredients should be good. If you call yourself "Green" Fork, the lettuce in the salad should be green. I had brown lettuce all the way through, which leads me to think my grab and go salad was not made fresh or even that morning. The yogurt dressing also tasted bad, and had a weird creamy, yet chunky consistency. The people, at least, were friendly enough. I'll try again, maybe it was a bad day, but maybe the grilled chicken tenders and see how that goes. Picture included so you know I'm not exaggerating. read more

Green Fork - amazing place, as Anthony Bourdain would put it, it restored my faith in humanity. Amazingly delicious and healthy smoothies, freshly, truly freshly squeezed juices, organic premade food that is really delicious - I had the quinoa pot one day and came back for the cole slaw the next day. Both were incredible fresh and flavorful, with flavors derived from the freshness of the ingredients and fresh herbs, such as fresh mint, parsley and cilantro. Beautiful and Patience smoothies were great. Fresh carrot-apple-beet juice was just the shot of vitamins I required after eating less than healthy food all week. Laughter smoothie was incredibly delicious and filling with nuts for protein. read more

OMG this place is OFF DA HOOK GOOD!!!! So a friend got us some salads from here for us to try and I was instantly Hooked! And the whole time I was in NOLA I went here everyday! I spent $60+ 2 of those days..lol because I bought 2-3 of the chickpea salads everytime.I Love Love Love their Hummus salad and their Tumeric juices are Really good! I got the Joy and MIracle both times and tried several of their salads. Spring Chikpea salad- So Delicious and I was hooked! I like using the cucumber to dip into the chickpeas. So Delicious, filling and super healthy. My body loved this after a hard workout in the hotels gym. Power house pesto bowl- This was good too, but nothing beats the chikpea IMO. Miracle juice - Delicous and great way to detox with tumeric. Joy juice - another great detox drink. I also tried another salad which was good, but everything took the backseat after my Fave, salad. This place is fantastic, cute, small and great fresh grab and go food. I wish they had this here in Colorado, but I'm looking for a place like this here. read more

In addition to the shots, bowls, juices, and smoothies, they have an extensive Grab & Go selection in the refrigerated section. There, you'll find Small Plates, Organic Salads, Organic Soups, Desserts, and Fresh Baked items. Several Gluten Free options are available as well. I ordered the Serenity Smoothie which was hearty, fresh and delish. The smoothie was a definite winner in all categories. Although I haven't had the pleasure of sampling any of their soups, it's certainly on my bucket list. Definitely a great spot to grab a clean plate, juice or smoothie in NOLA. read more

I was pretty unimpressed. The smoothie I got was the "Freedom" smoothie and cost $10 which is absolutely ridiculous. I did not see the price until after I ordered. l get the whole fresh ingredients thing but the smoothie was probably 12 oz and honestly didn't taste that good. On top of that, i was the only person there and I had to wait probably 10 minutes for my smoothie. If this place lowered their prices I would consider going back but it was in no way worth it, and nothing else on the menu looked worth the price either. ALSO I have some qualms with this place toting "juice cleanses". These types of things are scientifically proven to not work, and can be quite frankly dangerous. read more

NEVER GOING BACK I've been a regular customer of the Green Fork for more than 2 years. I've mostly visited the Metairie location in the past but I've recently changed gyms which put me closer to the one on Prytania. I've alway liked the juice so there are no complaints there. I do, however, have a very big problem with the service I've received from a woman named Stephanie at the Prytania location. She'd always seemed a bit annoyed when "helping" me. I felt more like a person asking for favors than a paying customer. Was it because I'm a black woman? Possibly. But I never gave it a lot of thought because 1) I liked the juices and 2) What's the worst that can happen during our weekly two minute interactions? ........UNTIL TODAY. Another customer, we'll call her "Rudeness", and I approached the entrance door at the same time but from opposite directions. She was a little further from the entrance than I was but quickened her pace as if she planned to RUN ME DOWN to get in the door and place her order first. She still ended up walking in after I did. Instead of waiting her turn to be serviced she comes up to the counter as I'm standing there, inserts her card in the card reader, and tells Stephanie that she'll take an egg muffin. What?! Stephanie, having SEEN me walk in and approach the counter first, proceeds to begin packing up the muffin. At this point, you can imagine that I'm becoming irritated. While she's preparing the order she asked what I'd like. "Great, so you CAN see me?", I thought. I gave her my juice order and she sends another worker to the back to tend to it. She finishes packing Rudeness' muffin and goes to process her payment. "Excuse me," I interrupted. "I'm ready to process the payment for MY order." Mind you.. Rudeness still has her card in the reader from when she'd first walked in earlier. *****Sidenote: If I had been treated with even ONE OUNCE of respect I would have been completely fine with paying after her because my juices still weren't done. But at this point I was frustrated with having been completely disregarded the entire time I'd been there so my patience had run thin.***** Rudeness proceeds to tell me that she's running late to a very important meeting and that she called ahead to place her order (which obviously didn't include the muffin she'd just asked for) as if to excuse her behavior. I thought about explaining to her the concept of a line and waiting your turn for service but Stephanie interjects and, addressing Rudeness, says, "Don't worry about it, you can just pay me later." Stephanie's body language indicated that she agreed with Rudeness and thought I was being ridiculous for wanting to be treated fairly. But I guess that was her attempt at trying to keep things calm. Rudeness thanked her and left. I started to explain to Stephanie that I wasn't trying to be difficult but she cut me off mid-sentence by telling me to "dip my chip" (or insert my card), as if saying "Shut up and pay." I stared at her for a while.. deciding whether or not I wanted to escalate the situation further. "Dip your chip" she says again. I inserted my card, deciding to process my payment, take my juices and leave (which I now regret because I shouldn't have spent another dime in that place). As I'm making my payment, Rudeness reappears wanting to apologize to me for her behavior. "...I'm not usually like this," she says, "I just have a lot going on and I'm really late to my doctor's appointment. But I wanted to say that I'm sorry." I thanked her for her apology. Stephanie, who's still standing there, completes the payment and steps away from the counter (saying nothing) to grab my juices that are now ready. When she returned I asked if she only worked at the location on Prytania. I'd never seen her at the other location so I'd just planned to make a complaint about this experience to management and go to Metairie to buy my juice moving forward. Imagine my surprise when Stephanie tells me that she is the OWNER of the Green Fork. After pointing out that her CUSTOMER showed more decency by offering an apology than she did as the BUSINESS OWNER, I told her that I'd never again return to either location. And I meant it. One of my best friends, who happens to be Hispanic, had a bad experience upon visiting the Metairie location (please see The Green Fork Metairie Yelp review by Caroline P. written 2 months ago). I wish I'd stopped spending my money at the Green Fork after hearing about the experience she had. I'm sorry that I didn't. If you are a person of color please consider spending your money elsewhere. There are too many other places in this city to subject yourself to this type of treatment. read more

I have been there for my lunch break, i was very excited to get a good vegan lunch meal, but it was a little disappointing for me. All the food were precooked and stocked in the freezer. When I saw it, all my expectations got lower. There is a lot of options but vegan. So I had a smoothie for $9, and the lentil burger for $12. The lentil patty was so dry and wasn't very fresh. It came with 2 pieces of lettuce, quarter of avocado, and a couple of cherry tomatoes. The sauces were ok. The cashier was very helpful, she warmed up my food. Smoothie was good. Arg. I realllly wanted to like this place. I'm not completely writing it off, but I think there is room for improvement. I was craving some green goodness and Yelp led me here. The place is tiny, and there isn't any seating indoors. I was excited when I saw the long list of both smoothies and juices. They also have a large cooler filled with homemade soups, salads, and other healthy looking items. I ordered a smoothie, a small egg muffin, and a jar of the homemade curry shrimp soup. You can imagine my surprise when she rang me up for nearly 50$. It was 46$ for these three items... Really? I just think this is outrageous. The smoothies and juices are 9$. I understand they use fresh ingredients and organic produce can be expensive. The smoothie had a decent flavor but it's consistency was more in between a juice and a smoothie. I would have liked something more substantial. The egg quiche thing I got was nothing special. And the soup, which equaled out to be about 3 small bowls, was OK but not mind blowing. The girl at the counter was nice. They were blasting a Christian Rock radio station which was interesting.... Bottom line: I left unhappy that I dropped nearly 50$ on mediocre food. I am willing to give them another shot because I would like to try more of their premade food items, but will be more wary of the prices. read more

We stopped here for an afternoon snack. I had the Giggle smoothie (cold brew coffee, cherries, banana, cocoa, etc.). It was creamy, cool, filling, with a hint of sweetness. My daughter got the Playful smoothie (one of the kid options) and she said it was "so awesome!" I also picked up some amazing looking soup and salad for lunch and dinner tomorrow. What a gem! Love love love this juice and health food spot! It's tiny and sometimes hard to find parking in the area, but definitely worth the effort. The staff is super friendly and they have a huge juice list. Take your time reviewing options, they have something for every palate and appetite. I usually get a couple fresh juices, but if you want something more substantial, try a smoothie. I'm trying to be plastic free, so I request my beverages in glass mason jar and then I bring them back when I return again. They also have snacks, ready made meals, and lots of soups in fridge if you want something healthy you can heat up later. Some have meat, but there are also several vegan options. These are great for work lunch or easy dinner. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Put good in and get good out! I like the vibes too: it's simple, clean and welcoming. This place was great! I wasn't feeling 100% after drinking too much booze and eating too much yummy food (as one should expect to in NOLA!). The green fork was a great change of pace from the unhealthy lifestyle we'd been living for the past few days. After having a friend bring me a "LOL" one day while doing housework, I couldn't get the flavors out of my head! So almost a year later I finally get over to The Green Fork. It had started to rain, but I parked close enough that it would be a non issue. As I approached the door, another customer arrived. She pulled on the door. It did not open. I tried it a few times as well thinking it sticks. No luck. So now we are peering through the glass, knocking on the door and pulling out our phones to call/check hours of operation all the while becoming increasingly wet and annoyed. Finally an employee comes to the door. Now both of us inside, I'm hoping the drink I've been craving for so long will smooth things over. It was so awkward! The lady didn't seem too concerned that we were locked out and now dismally wet, and annoyed. The girl ordered a LOL, and as a courtesy I took the liberty to say "make it two" figuring blending and preparing two of the same drinks would save them time and effort. While we waited I observed the other drinks and insanely overpriced salads and other organic foods. Glad I was using the check in discount to save money! The LOL was everything I hoped it would be, just was a bit of a struggle to actually GET IT. I could probably save myself the time and effort if I just made them myself. read more
