I'm there weekly getting ribeyes, cutlets, bacon, and ground beef, and the freshness really is hard to beat. I also love that the store carries so many clean-ingredient options, so I don't feel like I have to constantly stand there reading every label trying to figure out what's actually good quality. The store itself is always clean, organized, and quiet, especially early in the morning. Parking is plentiful, which is a huge plus, and because it's a smaller store, grocery shopping feels much less overwhelming than at a large supermarket. Overall, The Fresh Market has become my favorite place to grocery shop. Great quality, fresh meats, clean products, easy parking, and a calm shopping experience what more could you ask for?

For that price point, I expected the food to feel fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Every juice available in the refrigerator had a best-by date of today. There weren't any options dated for tomorrow or beyond, which surprised me. If a product has reached its best-by date, I would expect either fresher options to also be available or perhaps a discount on the items that need to be sold that day. More concerning was the $12 tuna sandwich. The lettuce on the sandwich was visibly wilted/browning and appeared spoiled. Because it was a tuna sandwich, seeing ingredients that looked past their freshness immediately made me question the freshness and food safety of the entire sandwich, and I ultimately did not feel comfortable eating it. I understand that food costs are high and I'm happy to pay more for fresh, quality ingredients--especially when supporting a health-focused business. But spending almost $50 on a grab-and-go lunch and walking away both unsatisfied and concerned about freshness was really disappointing. I'm sharing this less to criticize the staff and more in hopes that the owners take a closer look at freshness, expiration/best-by dates, quality control, and pricing. At this price point, customers should be able to feel confident that what they're purchasing is fresh and safe to eat.

I appreciate the wine and delicacies (née cheese) section as well as the fridge section here to Mid-City. I much prefer the parking in Mid-City to Uptown and that's a big deal, as in, even if I'm in the area and need to stop at WF for produce, oat milk, wine and nostalgia, I'll more often than not talk myself out of it because I hate that parking garage that much. The last time I stopped in, I had taralli on the brain and knew that I wouldn't likely find that at most Rouses, no less the far more conveniently-located food co-op that's in my neighborhood. And of course I found a decent variety, as well as a bunch of other goodies my regular Mid-City location does not have. Back to the parking lot. It's bad enough, people. At the very least, bring your cart back inside so that the next person doesn't have to move it before parking, which blocks the entire area and annoys the other cars waiting to park. You know this happens. Don't be that person.
