I ordered several trays of food for New Year's Eve from the Graycliff's Off Premise Catering. Joe who runs the Off Premise side was phenomenal! He helped me figure out the perfect food combinations and amounts for my party. He was very attentive and confirmed everything with me before pick up. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it! Very nice venue for weddings and special events. We visited for a birthday recently and the staff were excellent. The food was very good too. We spent four hours partying and eating and it went off without a hitch. Definitely recommend this venue. Having the bar separate is nice because you can hang out there if your DJ plays the music too loud. Plenty of parking as well, even when there is more than one event occurring at the same time. Worst experience and food & drinks were sub standard We had an engagement party there for over 60 people on 6/17/23 and it was the worst venue experience we ever encountered- as the hosts we were mortified and embarrassed. there was no matr'd at our event - which we were $ charged for white glove passed horderves an extra charge - instead of being past to our guest with a napkin with placed with tongs in the charger on the table - which we were $ charged extra for they barely had servers i think i counted two throughout the entire event- which they confirmed 4-5 for an event this size the food was horrible - prime rib was gray , chicken was dry- service was slow ; not timely; courses were served when courses were not finished yet the drinks were water down - open bar an additional charge $produced water downed drinks an shots , never mind premium shelf liquors guest from the other event next door were actual entering our room and stealing cupcakes from our cupcake tower the owner was smoking a cigar in the room were the bridal party gifts were and stunk them up The gelato cart was rolled in and rolled out within a 5 minute time period am our guests were never able to get a gelato desert The management and ownership made no attempt to rectify the situation once we advised them of the horrible experiences we were forced to endure at their establishment - the event and service , food and drinks were sub standard to say it kindly - would never recommend this venue to anyone for anything ; beware read more

I agree with all the owner comments here. He hung around the bar and smoked cigars with his buddy smelling up the entire area and then attempted to scam me on the bar bill at the end of the night going completely against what the event manager confirmed with us 2 days prior as to what the max amount we would be responsible for, which is his own daughter. They need to get on the same page on how they run their business. Never once asked how everything was. Get everything in writing that they say or better yet go to a business that actually will put attention to detail in the event you are spending thousands of dollars on. read more

Paying good money for an event you would think the staff would be more welcoming.. they weren't. In fact whoever was in charge in the morning of the event gave me so much of a bad vibe it really set the tone for the service ahead. Sure enough the teenagers they have serving the event did everything as if they weren't getting paid.. the space is gorgeous but the atmosphere was very unwelcome. My sister and I booked a party for my mother's 70th birthday. As soon as we pull in, I see what I believed to be valet. Nope, just guys directing us where to park. The front lot was packed, By the staff! So we had to park and walk about a block. But as we walked to the restaurant, we were met by the parking attendants and each one asked us if we were here for the surprise party. I got annoyed and asked them not to ruin it. Now, the service.........horrible. Not one waiter or waitress to be found. They set the tables up so that we had 4 forks, 4 glasses, cups for coffee, sugar and everything possible so that they had nothing to do. They didn't even bother taking away dirty dishes or entrees after we were done. They just piled it all on top of each. Thought my sister did open bar, however she didn't because, it was from 11-3pm and only a handful of the people invited would be drinking anyway. I decided to open a bar tab in the lobby. Mind u, we had a small party of 60. 5-10 of them were drinking. They charged me 89 drinks at a total of $1082. Now there's no way for me to know how many drinks were bought. There was another party and there were people from that party at the bar as well. Do the math. 4 hour party. Let's say 10 people drinking at a family party at a catering hall. 10x9 drinks per person in 4 hours. It doesn't add up. Then, $1082. Here's the best part. I say nothing. I pay the bill. Walk away. My sister asks the owner if they're sure about those figures. He gets so upset, runs into our room, yelling at me saying that he's not a thief. I had to remind him that this was his place of business and he should be professional and have this discussion with me in private behind closed doors. I gave him a piece of my mind for embarrassing me in front of my family. Why he felt the need to discuss my bill with another person is beyond me. Stay away if u can. read more

I would give this place a big zero if I could!! The most horrible place I have ever been to!! Unprofessional entire staff beginning with the managers to the unexperienced maitre'd, waiters. I've never in my life experienced such a terrible time from beginning to end. Everyone was complaining about the service and lack of professionalism. The food was lousy. Everything is old and broken. I can't say I enjoyed the food here. There wasn't much to it. I ordered the salmon which was tasty. The salmon was cooked nicely as it wasn't dry. I looked over at some of my friends dishes and I wouldn't order the steak. You get a massive amount but the appearance looked off to me. I guess it didn't look appetizing to me. This is a review from perspective of a wedding guest. Started off badly: Do you prefer self parking? You are a second-class guest, and directed to drive to an adjoining bank parking lot. Why? There was plenty of on-premise parking spots. Bank allows this? Not worth an argument at start of a happy occasion. Appetizers were probably best part: included wide assortment of seafood. Suspect whatever is not eaten is reused for next affair that followed 1 hour later since appetizers were removed quickly to prepare for next party in same room. Appetizers were identical for both affairs. Dinner portions were generous, though lacking in flavor. Graycliff mostly falls down on courteous service: plates are removed before people are finished or returned to their seats, wine with dinner is offered once and server never seen again, and coffee was served warm. Never saw one server again after asking for an extra chair. Not just me: everyone in our party made similar comments. Seems everything feels rushed and lacking in caring adult supervision. Owners would do well to examine what they are doing from customer perspective. Low rating on basis of what is expected from a wedding venue, and what Graycliff could be. PS Double-check your directions: Direction from GPS based on mailing address and actual location near Teterboro Airport are different. Have no idea why. PPS Nevertheless, a lovely wedding. read more

Absolutely terrible venue. They only accept cash payments, beware they do this so you have no course of action if things do not meet your expectations. Food was atrocious. Open bar alcohol was watered down, bottles and shots. Staff was terrible, understaffed party. The owner smoked cigars inside the venue which made a few of our guests actually sick, , had zero respect for guests... additionally the executive staff would not provide any type of refund or rectify anything that occurred. read more

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude regarding my daughter's 21st birthday event on November 13, 2021, at The Graycliff Banquet Hall in Moonachie NJ. To begin with this was going to be an over- the- top event that had a lot of details that required attention to our requested details. From the beginning of locking in our event date was a delight to work with Emily and Kathy. Emily made things simple, easy, smooth, and very clear. The minute that we arrived to set up for the party everything from the large balloon number display, guest tables, Balloon art display, the 21 cakes set up display with lights and the floral centerpieces, guest card table, champagne table were in place and set up in a beautiful way. It was breath taking to walk in and see that the staff had already put everything together for me. The maître d Jon WONDERFUL, OUTSTANDING, CARING, KIND, GENTLE and handled everything and beyond. I was escorted to the bridal room with a drink and was able to relax before guest arrived. I was so impressed with my experience working with you from beginning to end. The staff were professional, courteous, and worked very hard the entire evening. The bartender simply fabulous he handled everything calm and cool, kept the drinks coming no long wait at the bar. Everyone that attended the party raved about the food. Every dish from the buffet to the dinner was delicious. Everyone went above and beyond. I can't tell you how thrilled and still over the moon. I highly recommend this venue! The prices are unbeatable for the excellent quality of food and level of service. Everyone thought we paid so much more! The DJ and team were very accomodating and loads of fun. And the photobooth - what a hit throughout the night! Our guests had such a good time! First, this place did an amazing job following all the new outdoor dining rules for covid. My cousin had her graduation party here this past Sunday and I was impressed with the kindness and professionalism of the staff. It was a very humid day, so I only ate a little bit of the huge lunch and brunch spread they put out, but my husband said the breakfast options (waffles eggs etc) were awesome. I loved the fresh fruit bar, and their penne vodka, rice and veggies all best my expectations for "catering hall style" food. The open bar was great, mimosas I think could have used a bit more alcohol but still enjoyed the fresh real orange juice! Our party had our own bathroom and it was immaculate. I do appreciate them letting the family bring their own cake as there are numerous food allergies in the family. I do wish they picked a tent that was not clear on top, as the sun beating in on you while you are trying to eat or dance was rough. All the waiters and waitresses were attentive and sociable except for maybe one. I did see her crack a smile though at one point. I was quite astonished by it. The food was great...Chicken San Marco was baaaaaangin'. I'm on the website now, and they have a crazy menu. Bartender was quick, like REALLY quick. Drinks were good...first Amaretto Sour I've had that didn't taste ridiculously sour. Audio system was good and the dance floor was the right size for 100 or so guests. Very nice interior but the main entrees weren't the best I've had. Cocktail hour food was tastier than the main entrees. I ordered the stuffed chicken; chicken was dry and flavorless, potatoes were super salty. Dessert table was pretty and was ok. pretzel balls with the chocolate fondue was my favorite item everything else tasted either old or it was done earlier that day and just sat on the counter the entire day. This is a nice venue for gigs. They have the space to accommodate a large party and have multiple spaces for cocktail hour and the main event. Food is pretty good and so is the bar. I like that they have two small "stages" where you can put the DJ or a small photo booth or something like that and it is out of the way. The food served at the event I was at all was very good -- and this being true even getting there late and sampling the appetizers in a less than optimal state. For the main course I chose salmon and it was done perfectly and worked well for what surrounded it on the plate. I was at The Graycliff (in the sun room) for a Bridal Shower. The food was really good, and the space was full of natural light, which was quite nice. The staff was fantastically attentive (maybe too much - does every napkin on a chair really need to be re-folded? But that's restaurant policy!). It was a little weird sharing a common bathroom with the neighboring event spaces. I was dressed for a sunny bridal shower, sharing a bathroom with women decked out to go clubbing! All parking is done by valet, or you can go around the corner and park in the bank parking lot. read more

My daughter's shower was phenomenal thanks to Captain John and his staff. From the moment we arrived he was attending to our every need and question. They followed the distance guidelines and wore masks. The appetizers were fresh and the pasta was delicious. The Sole was very tasty and I received many compliments on the food. The added touch of the gelato, different coffees and mimosas were an added bonus! I was extremely satisfied with the food and the service. We booked the venue for a 50th party and it did not meet our standards. First of all they ONLY accept CASH payments, well that's what they told us. We spent over 10k and it had to be paid in cash because they do not accept payments by credit cards or bank checks, and we paid them immediately in full after booking 3 months in advance & more after we received all our final rsvp. The rudeness and arrogance of the 2 sales people ( owner & daughter) we dealt with was disappointing. The only reason we chose this place was because, at the time of booking, they had the date we needed. When the date arrived of the party , the linen we paid extra for were dirty. The linen the food was going to sit on was filthy with red sauce. I had to bring it to their attention to replace before party began. Its like they rolled those tables in our room from a prior party, so gross & I couldn't allow our guest to see that. The workers were also complaining on how rude the owner was to them. At this point, I just wanted to get the party over with . Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place to anyone because the way they treat people is terrible. The food was also not that great & rooms need updating and deep cleaning. In addition, I had to ask one of the workers to vacuum the entrance where the rug was because it was so dirty as well and I was embarrassed if the guest arrived to view a dirty floor. The food and service was great. The employees were courteous and friendly! The venue was beautiful, and most important, the bathrooms were clean! The credit goes to the grooms - yes, we attended a union - who obviously chose the details and line-up. The food was delicious - there were pastas, breads, a carving table with both pork and beef. Cocktail hour had cuts of cold cut Italian meats, cheese fondue with various breads, fruits, etc. The cocktails were decently strong, too! There was a fire show hosted by The Graycliff to introduce the dessert table, which included gelato (with bananas foster and chocolate cherry sauce), pastries, fruit, cannolis, etc. Again, Credits to the grooms for the amazing drag show and choices of music! When we tried to correct this issue it was clear it was done on purpose to accomodate a newly booked event. You could not find a more insane owner. I say insane because the man literally yelled at not only myself but our guest caught him yelling at the help to where the guest suggested that they should file a complaint and leave the establishment. This man was out totally of control. We only wanted to make some room adjustments and add a table. He does not understand the business he is in and/or absolutely doesn't care. You are in a people business. You are in the catering business. The words simply mean- catering to- helping people achieve their goals in his facility. He did everything he could to boss us around, scream and threaten me. This is a place to stay totally away from and don't be fooled by the relatively nice manager. They cannot control this animal. 3.5 stars The Graycliff is a nice catering hall, beautifully lined with a mirrored perimeter in the main room with crystal lighting throughout. While not the most gorgeous of halls, and not the most spectacular of views, the establishment is very tastefully decored, without being gaudy or over the top. Upon arrival, the valets, while helpful, are not the friendliest of folk, but they guide you to your party--the Graycliff hosts 2 parties in an evening. Much it chat is minimal, but they aren't rude. The highlight of just about every event I've been to here--well over a dozen--is the cocktail hour. The bartenders are friendly and efficient. More importantly, they but out one heck of a spread! Sushi, pasta, lamb chops, carving stations, Italian meats, cheeses, seafoods, stir fry, vodka bar, raw bar, passed plates and more! After that cocktail hour, who needs a main course? There are plenty of tables and seating for the cocktail hour as well--always a plus. The main courses are always just so-so. The meats usually miss the mark on the cook times, while the other options are good but never spectacular. Of course I'm usually too full to care about the mains, so I seldom care about that. They do a fire show and production for the Viennese table which is fun to watch. It would be nice if the quality of the desserts matched the display, but they seldom do. Decent zeppoles, average pastries. They certainly provide a nice selection and you'll get your sugar fix, but nothing really stands out. The servers are mostly pretty good, though there are a few bad apples that spoil the bunch. Nobody ruins the evening, but a few bad attitudes are noticeable. Tony, the owner, always does a great job of making his presence felt, but not in an intrusive way. He does a spectacular job of overseeing the operation and addressing all concerns as need be. If you're having a wedding, bar mitzvah, what have you--you may want to check out the Graycliff. While not best ever, they are consistent and always very good at what they do. read more

After crossing the nation to come to New Jersey, I wasn't expecting the AMAZING reception that I just went to. Of course, I expected the wedding and reception to be fabulous and wonderful and tearfully beautiful but the reception at The Graycliff just made my friend's special day even more fantastic. Arriving there was as bad as I had feared (especially after getting lost multiple times to the church). There is complimentary valet, which is so nice when trying to find parking. Walking into the restaurant, there was cocktail going on with a pianist in the middle of the room playing a baby grand. Lots of jazz and lots of liquor flowing at the open bar. There was a hot buffet of different warm appetizers. The Greenhouse room was opened with small square 4 person tables and a delicious buffet of cold meats, cheeses, fruits, and breads. Two ice sculptures at the end of the spread gave it an elegant touch. Two waitresses dressed in gorgeous LBDs served sparkling wine with strawberries or watermelon/apple/cherry martinis. Once cocktail hour was over, we headed into the reception area and it was absolutely gorgeous. The dance floor was in the middle and the happy couple had a sweetheart table at the very front. The bridal party was introduced by an energetic dj duo. It was very well dj'd and I had a blast dancing throughout the night. The food is simply amazing. I had some type of steak dish and they accommodated my request to have it cooked medium rare. Amazing service. The waitresses came by to take drink orders, saving me the trouble of going up to the bar to get a drink. I think aside from the people and the open bar and the bridal couple, my favorite part of the service is The Graycliff Finale. The dessert portion of the evening is simply amazing. They had a fire show! As the sparkles flashed on, the staff kept bringing in trays and trays of desserts! There were jello in champagne glasses, assorted cakes and cookies, a CHOCOLATE FOUNTAIN (my favorite), and small mini bar where they pour a shot of your choice of alcohol into chocolate shot glasses. AMAZING. Godiva Milk Chocolate liquor in a small chocolate shot glass!? Drink and then eat the glass.....whoever decided to always have that on the finale should be PROMOTED immediately. So amazing. We were completely stuffed by the time the main entrees had come around but we could not help reaching for "just one more" taste of everything there! I had a wonderful time (as I always do at weddings with an Open Bar and a great DJ) and I know that if I ever live in New Jersey, I would want my reception held here. It's amazing! I had my son's baptism/birthday party December 27, 2015. THE WORST DECISION MADE! I had to tell the waiters to remove dirty plates and glasses, my guests are bringing their plates to an end table so they have room to eat. I had to tell the waiters that food had run out during the cold appetizer buffet. My guest were told the can't have espresso until after theY served coffee, cake and then we will get to the espresso. Only after I complained repeatedly was the espresso served. Last but not least the party ends at 7pm. As I am handing gifts out saying goodnight the staff is pushing tables and cleaning up . Then the owner says he should just kick us out because he has a wedding at 7:30. THIS PLACE RUINED MY SON'S PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!! deserves -100 stars read more

Completely top notch! I have attended a number of different types of events at this catering hall and each time I am more impressed. They are always so on top of everything. The food and service is out of this world. I aways leave completely satisfied. The cocktail hour has every type of food you can think of. My husband and I just had our Wedding at the Graycliff on June 21st. The day was perfect from beginning to end and I have to say that it was all because of the amazing staff and venue. First of all I would like to say that in searching for a venue..no other place could even come near this price for how beautiful the main room is and all that was included in the price...ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Fast forward to the day of my wedding (it is also a must to go with the in house DJ and photographer). They do an amazing job and our photographer went above and beyond, not only with photos, but with anything from helping bustle my gown to calming us down when we kept messing up buttoning my dress which almost made me late for pictures. Catherine was our maitre d and was absolutely wonderful! It was like she was reading my mind every step of the way. When I wanted another drink, she was already behind me with a new one in her hand. She also handled our flower girl who is 2 SOOO well and without her I'm not sure she would've walked down the isle. The servers were all incredibly friendly, the bartenders were amazing, and the food was great! So many people said it was the best wedding they've ever been to...and can you imagine that for such an amazing price!
