We were the last holdouts for 'granite" countertops. I am not a fan granite, it's just my personal taste- large sweeping patterns, and mostly earthy tones. I am more a fan of color in my kitchen, and never felt that granite would work for us. However, in an effort to remain 'current' and also keep up the resale value of our home, we visited The Granite Factory, and were not disappointed. We had been to other distributors, and the cost was rather high for something I was not sold on. Our salesperson, Becky, guided us to quartz countertops and we were delightfully surprised. From there on every piece of the process, starting with the estimate and cost- which was substantially lower than other vendors, templates, and installation- was flawless. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! we brought them the layout of the kitchen and picked out our granite and made a deposit of half the cost. we were told a 7-10 day turn around time from when we call to schedule the appt and we get the install done. we got our new cabinets in and called for appt to have them template the kitchen, then we were told that they didnt order our granite and it would take a little over a week to come in. then it was over a week to get a install date. they have messed up the install time frame several times today and we are still waiting 3 hours later for them to get here to start the install. when you call on the phone no one knows whats going on and we are constantly being told that the person before shouldn't have told us that type of information. go some place else its not worth the hassle of dealing with them. read more

My wife and I recently had this company provide us with a quartz vanity top for our bathroom. We saw they were having a sale and so went in one day, chose the remnant, and paid for it. During the buying experience, we spoke with two of the employees there (one of them may have been an owner for all we know), and we explained we wanted a sink and the faucet holes cut. They only offered rounded sinks but stated if we brought them the sink and faucet that they would be able to install the sink and cut the faucet holes for us. I agreed and a few days later I brought them the sink and faucet. I explained that we needed three holes cut for our faucet (keep this in mind). They told us it would take a week. So, a week went by, nothing. We were still having our bathroom worked on so I gave them a little more time. As we were approaching about two weeks, I called them to get a status. They you g lady I spoke with said we should have heard something. She told us it should be done and if she did not call me back that day, assume it was done and to go in anytime the next day (Saturday until close) to pick it up. I said ok. Unfortunately, I was unable to go i. That Saturday due to work issues. So, we waited another week and went the following Saturday. We showed up at noon. There was a young girl there we had not met before. We told her we were picking up the sink. She stated no one was in the back and so she would have to call the owner as all the employees left for the day. The owner spoke with her over the phone and told her he could not give us out sink with no one in the back (Mind you, we drive 30-40 minutes one way each time we have to go to this place). I said ok but they need to communicate better to their customers this kind of stuff. So, my wife went that following Wednesday. She picks the sink up and faucet. They were nice enough to put it i. The trunk of her SUV. It stayed in the trunk until That Friday when I finally had time to get to it and had to take it out because we were going on a trip. I open the trunk and find they only cut one hole for the faucet! How they screw that up when they have the actual faucet with them is astounding. So, I email them early this week and tell them what has happened. My wife and I both work during the day and sometimes even on the weekend so we do not have time to hold their hands on everything. We have received no response and at no point do they desire to fix their mistakes. I even sent them a picture of the vanity top showing this. So, I am just going to go choose a new faucet. I will do my best as well to ensure that the customer service and quality assurance of this company is near non-existent. I should have known better when the first day we went there, a gentleman was pacing and talking angrily about the fact the company had apparently caused him some sort of issue as well and that it had also been an ongoing problem for him. read more

after visiting several "granite houses" in the area, we couldn't be happier with our decision to go with "the granite factory" in newburgh ny. their selection of slabs, although not huge, was varied and of excellent quality. in fact, there were several samples of stone that we had not seen anywhere else. as some of you may know, searching for granite can be an overwhelming process. we liked the fact that the fabrication was done on site, also, this company has been in business in the area for decades. our salesperson, dan, helped us to focus and identify what kind of stone we wanted for our kitchen project. he was available to answer any questions we had during the process. we were told that they would reserve two to three slabs so that we could, once templates were made, give our input as to the parts of the granite we wanted for our counters. true to their word, templates were made, we selected the parts of the slabs we wanted to use and the installation team installed our counters within a weeks time. all in all, a very professional and competent operation. we couldn't be happier with our decision to go with this reputable local business. elysa and fred davis read more

Horrible experience. Bought closeout color to save cost and seemed like a good deal. While it took us a year to get our cabinets installed for the granite the granite factory held our granite with a 1/4 deposit. I was told at time of template 2/3 would need to be paid in full. Then the balance due after job completed. Not so. They demanded full payment before work was completed. Maybe because they knew they would do a poor job. I would have rather have paid more for quality work. First attempt made they cut two pieces too short. They took one piece away came back a week or so later with a piece that didn't match. Then they took a different piece away. After 4 trips to my home my seam is an eyesore. I have never seen such a rough cut. They installers left epoxy all over my granite and sink which we had to fix along with the gaps between the granite and sink. It makes me so sad to look at friends and families new granite where the seams are blended perfectly. Also my counters are rough underneath. Not like any other home I have been too. Such poor quality finisher's and installer's. The final visit consisted of someone who didn't speak English saying it looked fine to my mom because they showed up at the wrong time frame and I wasn't home. If you want quality work go somewhere else. Learn from my mistake. If you want to take 4 days off work to get your granite installed and deal with office staff avoiding your calls, go ahead. read more
