This place was really underwhelming. The branding and atmosphere were really nice; it's a cool space. But the food, which is why I went, was neither filling nor tasty.
I ordered the "Man Bowl," which comes with mixed wild rice or quinoa and a choice of protein (salmon, chicken, or teriyaki salmon + steamed broccoli + chili + sesame seeds). It may just be me, but among the three warm bowl choices - Man Bowl, Lean Machine, and Curry in a Hurry - I thought the Man Bowl would've been filling.
It was not. Not even a little bit. So, £10 for a snack disguised as a meal felt like a rip-off.
I also had the Coco Butter smoothie (Coconut milk, Coconut H20, Peanut Butter, Dates, Banana, Vanilla), which was great, but that wasn't a surprise: it's kinda hard to screw up a smoothie with peanut butter and bananas. It was £6; expensive, but at least this tasted good.
It's a hipster place; I get it. And it's supposed to be healthy. But the food is really uninspired. It's kinda like what someone new to cooking might think is the only way to eat healthy. "Healthy" does not mean "bland and boring."
At the very least, nothing tasted bad. The smoothie was great. However, it just doesn't seem worth the time or money when there are other restaurants in London. read more
