Great place to hit golf balls. The staff was very kind. When you're done hitting golf balls you can also practice putting and chipping

Have been patronizing this store for a few years mainly because of location convenience but…read morehonestly, if a competitor moved in nearby, I'd go there instead. First of all, staff is pretty decent, not perfect but not the worst. They have had some turn over so your experience may vary for each visit, just don't expect too much. They seem to be chronically understaffed and 50% of the time, getting someone to set you up in a practice bay is an ordeal. Which, btw, are now overpriced considering the equipment and quality. The website is a miserable experience to book a practice bay btw and checking in to pay is just as bad. The whole process could be streamlined. Store layout is awkward af. There are two registers up front separated by the entrance so you're standing in the way of people coming, going and trying to walk through. Very often only one register is staffed by someone, so plan on waiting in a line most of the time. This is where the staffing issues are obvious, in addition, their PoS systems are glacier slow so transactions are not quick & efficient. The cashier also often has to answer the phone or take extra time with a customer's need (trade ins). Seems like this is a bottleneck in the store, makes me NOT want to purchase anything there because the wait & transaction process is painful. Again, not blaming staff, this is a PGAStore corp. decision to go cheap on PoS and create an awkward store layout & experience; thus discouraging me from wanting to purchase anything, unless I see there is no line, but there often is. Lessons & fittings. Have not personally experienced this so cannot speak to it, though others online have and it is not great apparently, do your research. However. If you want to talk golf equipment, most of the staff over at fitting bays can be knowledgeable and helpful, IF they have the time, which usually they do not because they're very busy. So often, trying a used club will also be an exercise in patience. This is sort of understandable but seriously, if an associate walks past someone hold a club looking for assistance (this has happened more than once) at least ask to make an effort. But again, most staff is friendly knowledgeable & try to be helpful. Clothing selection is adequate though pricey, even for golf. They also have the standard shoe selection, though often out of stock for most common or popular sizes. Again, do not expect much. Balls, gloves and other accessories are plentiful and pretty much as you'd expect. The putting green area is awesome. Great to just pick out a display model and try it. In the end, I only go here if I have no choice because I advocate supporting local over corporate stores and this one is an example why; too much price for a mid to low experience.

Also decided to buy a new pair of shoes. Asked the associate in the shoe section the difference between two shoes by the same brand with a $30 price difference. Response was "idk, I guess the color choices..try Google"...not what I would expect from a golf store employee, let alone one in the section I'm asking questions about

Note that my friend is a 3 handicap and I am an 11. (So decent golfers). He stated first thing that shaft doesn't really matter and put in almost no effort to help us find the right club/shaft combo. My friend's miss is a slight push and mine is a small slice. He basically said we aren't good enough and we need to fix our swings before he could help. So are we supposed to be scratch golfers before we can be fitted. If I was a scratch golfer I wouldn't need his help. Do not recommend and was a waste of time and money.

A 1-hour analysis might seem like a long time but time goes by quickly. Working only with mid-iron, I was given some warm-up time and then video rolled. Tom and I spent at least 20 minutes viewing swing, comparing it to a Tour player swing and I.D.'ing a couple flaws. I did not want to go further than the one session due to being a feel player and only practicing a little. The studio was good; video technology solid; instructional good. All in all, the GolfTEC experience is a good one.

The course itself is pretty good. It's maintained well and fun to play. However, none of that matters much when the experience is ruined by the staff. It started before we even began playing. The guy in the clubhouse was very unfriendly & actually rude. We tried to engage him in friendly small talk.....that wasn't happening. He didn't even look at us. Even rolled his eyes at one point. Then we get to the first tee & wait to tee off. And wait, and wait, and wait. We didn't get to tee off until 12 mins after our scheduled tee time. The pace of play was slow the whole round. Yet, oddly, the ranger appeared behind us multiple times to hurry us along. We were being rushed into the back of the group in front of us the entire round. This was completely unnecessary since there was no group behind us all day! It felt like we were being stalked by the ranger all day. It was unnerving & definitely did not make for an enjoyable day! We noticed that the staff were setting up tables next to all the tee boxes behind us. This made it obvious that we were being rushed off the course so they could get ready for an event. To put the icing on the cake, we ended the round trying to golf around 4 grounds keepers on the 18th hole. 3 men were using weed eaters around the stream in THE MIDDLE OF THE FAIRWAY and the 4th man was driving through the fairway on a Gator. None of them attempted to move or even acknowledge us. We had to hit our shots over the stream with the workers weed eating in it. They didn't even shut down their machines while we hit. It's like we weren't even there. The guy in the Gator even parked the vehicle in the middle of the cart path & we had to drive off the path to get around it. We really felt as though our time, money & experience didn't matter to anyone we encountered that day. It was as though we were inconveniencing the staff by being there. They obviously had to get ready for an event & that's all they were concerned with. What should have been a great day of golf with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, ended up being a terrible experience for us both! I'm not one to write poor reviews. Rest assured, I would have addressed these issues with staff at the end of our round if the guy in the clubhouse had been at all approachable.

The clubhouse is appealing when you pull up, and the practice facilities are just to the right. The range ball machine was jammed when I first tried it, but an employee was easily able to open the cage and fix that. The tips play from ~7,000 yards, and the next tees up are ~6300, then ~5900. It can be challenging with a myriad of bunkers and fescue if you find yourself far from the fairway. In addition, 17 of the 18 holes have water on them, but I only noticed maybe half of these where the water was actually in play. My only gripe was the condition of the greens, but I was told they had been aerated about 2-3 weeks before I played, so I wasn't expecting it to be Augusta. They did have quite a few unrepaired ball marks which is frustrating, but I'm not holding that against the course. Bottomline, it was a fun layout with good architecture and I'll definitely be back. Side note, this course is under the New Era umbrella of golf courses which also includes New Albany Links, Glenross, Bent Tree, Royal American Links and Clover Valley.

I waited months for a replacement because they said they had to mail it in. When I get it back it is not the same driver head. After I complained they offered to exchange it for a new club. I ask an employee where the women's golf shoes are and he points to the other side of the store and keeps walking. But what really bothers me is that within minutes, I'm the ONLY customer in the store, with 3 employees...and I'm back looking at the shoes for a solid 10minutes and NO ONE comes to even check on me or see if I need anything! So, I have to go find someone to answer a few basic questions. I walk to the front of the store (only a few yards down the aisle and around the corner from the shoes) and there are all 3 guys just standing there, talking. I'd understand if they were closing down, or cleaning or with someone else... but nope. THEN, when I tell them I need help with shoes I have to basically guide one of them back to help me. To which he really only answers EXACTLY what questions I ask. No further information, no opinions, no details on anything. I left. Never going back there. I'll just buy on Amazon. I did go to Dicks afterwards (owned by the same company).. and had an AWESOME conversation about shoes, upcoming sales, selection etc. night and day difference. IF I have to go anywhere for golf stuff (that I don't order online)... I'd rather go to Dicks. How crazy is that?! Don't waste your time in this place.
