My youngest has several food allergies, severe (anaphylaxis) the staff is fully trained, they are an inclusive camp, meaning she can eat and participate in EVERY activity. This is extremely important for any kid of any age, to feel included and part of everything and something. I highly highly recommend this. Last…read moresummer was my second summer; and I don't understand how people think that new people are treated like outcasts because I was new and I made about 3 friends the first day! Wekeela also is great because you can extend your time there easily, and if you hate it (which I really doubt you will) you will probably be allowed to un-extend. Last summer I went to camp for four weeks, and even in my second year I was still making friends and looking forward to meeting new people! I can't say enough good things about Wekeela. On the last day I was crying my eyes out from dinner to the end of campfire and after camp ended every night I facetimed my friends and became extremely camp sick. I love camp so much that I am going for seven weeks next summer; and considering my past experiences with camps, that's a big deal. If you want a carefree, fun, socialized summer, come to camp Wekeela. Trust me.

They learned about grooming, feeding, instruction on riding, and even happily mucked the stalls. Our kids are 5 & 6 but some kids were up to age 10-11 maybe. Total there were about 12 kids in the camp. Lots of walking involved as the bathrooms are a few minutes away (they are escorted there twice daily). The instructors were good with both the kids and the ponies. Not sure how repetitive it would get if you booked consecutive weeks as ours just went 1 week. The cost for one week, with the Bergen county discount, was about $337 per child.

There is still a lack of AC but as the weather changes that becomes less of an issue (for now). Just about every staff member I've come across here is very nice, polite and helpful. They treat the kids that come here well and they seem to look out for them -so for those reasons I think it's a great place. Reasonable monthly fees and a variety of classes are a bonus. Fitness center is average but clean with decent machines. You can get a good workout here, take a swim, and play ball here without breaking the bank. They provide clean towels as well. Very cost-effective.

In this location they did not have the children engaged in the activities and were not paying attention to them. We paid a lot of money for the camp but it did not meet our expectations. If you are looking forward to having your child have a good time during camp do not enroll them at this location. They reached out to the parents and said that out of 20 kids, there was a group of 10 kids who not engaged or paying attention. I believe if 50% of the children are not engaged, they need to change the activities to make them more interesting to the children.

Even if the counselor didn't see the lunchbox, the right thing to do would have been to call me to ask if I had packed one, and if I had forgotten, to ask me to drop one off. When I brought it up to the company, they apologized and offered my daughter lollipops as a consolation and a discount to return for future. Are you kidding me??? I elected to never send my daughter back there again for her safety and never got a refund for the remaining weeks. I would think twice before sending my child here. Clearly the counselors have no common sense and it is not a safe environment for a young child who cannot yet advocate for herself.

Our family was very disappointed with our experience at CAP. My child attended for just 5 months…read moreand during that time we discovered many issues with the school. 1. My child had a medical emergency while at the school and it was unclear how it was actually handled. We received different accounts from the director, area manager, the staff member who accompanied my child to the hospital, and the EMT's who responded to the event. When I asked to see the footage from the time period of the medical emergency I was denied the request. 2. Classes are often combined in the morning or after 4pm, even during disease outbreaks in those respective rooms. Many times I would pick up my child and my child would be in the room where there is a known presence of Croup or Hand Foot Mouth playing with the children from that room. This, to me, demonstrated a lack of genuine care for the well being of the children. 4. My child's teacher recorded and posted a video on the app of another child pushing and kicking my child. My child was kicked 4 or more times and there was no intervention by the teacher. When I addressed this with the director I was simply told this was normal behavior for the age group and if the teacher had deemed to to be excessive she would have addressed it. 5.While regular handwashing is talked about quite a bit during the tour, it was not happening. Many times I picked up my child either right after playtime/before a snack or meal time or during a diaper change and the children were never made to wash their hands. I addressed this observation once with the director and noticed no improvements. 6. My child came home twice with scratches on her body that the staff could never explain. One scratch spanned across her back. 7. My child came home many times with diaper rash, despite us providing 40% zinc oxide diaper cream. On one occasion, I picked my child up and was told that all 3 of the kids left in the room had diaper rash. I don't think it is a coincidence that the last 3 kids left in the room that day all had diaper rash.
