She has a robust curriculum of math, reading, writing and social studies and my 5 year old can do addition and subtraction and reads confidently at a first grade level. This teacher also teaches the children kindness and generosity and other wonderful values. The children are so happy in the classroom and love being both with the teacher and their classmates, every day my daughter tells me how awesome school is and she cannot wait to go the next day. My only sadness is that the school doesn't offer a first grade offering. In addition, I have always found the school wonderfully flexible and they do everything they can to make life easier for working parents. I cannot recommend this school highly enough.

I had very high hopes for this school. However, over the last year the administration has…read moreapparently come into a power play against the parents. Parents who pay tuition. Previously, you could drop your child off in the classroom between 8:15 and 8:30. Now they don't open the door until exactly 8:30, and parents are no longer able to take their children to the classroom. Even in the freezing cold we all huddle around the door cramming to get our children in, and we are no longer in contact with the teachers on a daily basis. It does not matter rain, snow, wind, or freezing temperatures, they will not open the door. It used to be you could check in with the teacher in the morning and they would say Sarah is doing great, or she needs to work on listening. Now there is a total disconnect. You send lunch to school with your child and there is one teacher who tells the child what they can and can't eat from their own lunch box. Then the kid is hungry the rest of the day. Why is this person allowed to do this. If a parent give the child the food then the parent says its ok. In the past years, they had a Christmas concert, 1 or 2 songs per class. This past year because of the way the parents behaved at the last concert, they cancelled it. However they decided to have a breakfast with the local senior citizens, who drive, would come to the school have breakfast with the children and then have the concert. Now lets look at this logically: - The parents are not allowed in to the school for any reason - Strangers are going to be permitted to have breakfast with our children who no one knows - If the church is too small to have the concert, you have a gym/cafeteria which has a stage and enough seating so everyone can see, since the stage is up higher than the floor. - I do not think anyone was thinking when these decisions were made The long and the short of this was a lot of parents did not send their children to school that day. The secretary in the office is so smug and unpleasant. No one wants to deal with her. They even sent her to nice classes, I can tell you first hand this did not work. She has even gone as far to not let a child back into school who needed to use the bathroom. REALLY, that is disgraceful. One parent had an appointment and needed to drop their child off 5 minutes early, and she be-raided the parent saying how they did not pay for before care. Why this woman is allowed to behave this way and still have a job is beyond every parent I have spoken to at this school. Send your child somewhere else. I am counting the months until my child no longer has to go to New Beginnings at Grace Lutheran.

My wife and I both work in the city (at least pre-pandemic), so the dependable childcare that TLE Paramus has provided has been very important. We have seen incredible, consistent emotional, social, and intellectual growth by my son over the past two years, which undoubtedly is due to the rich learning environment that TLE Paramus provides. I cannot imagine sending my son anywhere else for childcare at this point. Also, TLE Paramus's leadership has done an impressive job managing the center during the pandemic. It has not been an easy situation for anyone, but the leadership has done a commendable job creating a safe environment and communicating news regarding illnesses and positive COVID cases.

My 4yo and 14 month twins have been here for a month now- true game changer in my 4 year olds life. She has been in childcare since she was 6 months old. In the past month I have noticed an improvement in both her language and behavior. For the first time she is excited about "going to school" each morning. Such a relief from the mommy guilt of leaving her each day to work full-time. She loves her teachers, classmates, and the curriculum. The facility itself is beautiful, and the staff truly cares about the children. I love the added programs at no added cost - sign language, Spanish, yoga, etc is all included in the fee. My 14 month old daughter signed "more" the other day when she was finished with her snack - it was amazing! My 4yo signed "please may I have some more" back to her right after. A SUPER proud mom moment, thanks to the teachers at TLE. I would recommend this facility to anyone with a young child in the area (from 6 weeks to 6 years.) I have visited a number of other early learning centers in the area and this one is leaps above the rest in every way!

I had heard that this location was small and originally thought that would be a con. But when we visited, we realized we loved the fact that it is small. It feels "homey" in all the good senses of the word -- like our family is taking care of our kids. I was really impressed when we visited again for an event a week after our tour and Ms Kathy remembered which fraternal twin was which, and which one loves when you sing the vowels to her. Even many of our own family members didn't remember which twin was which at that time! Ms Kathy is a great combination of "professional teacher" and "maternal". I felt the kids would learn a lot and be in a caring environment. Each month Ms Ty creates fun artwork with the infants using their handprints and footprints (water based paint), which expands their sense of touch with the paint. I like that they do infant room group projects with jello and a colorful parachute. One of the reasons we decided on preschool instead of a nanny even at such a young age was because we wanted them to be in an environment where they explicitly think about educational play. Every time we pick up our daughters, all of the teachers take the time to give us an update and answer any questions we have on how our daughters are doing. Ms Hina also raises to us that one of our daughters was refusing the bottle when they first started and she had a great suggestion to temporary redirect the breast milk bottles to that one daughter to make sure she gets enough milk. I had thought it was the bottle that she was refusing so hadn't considered that but it turned out it was the formula (vs breastmilk). Their 6:30am to 7:00pm hours are also especially helpful for us since we work in Manhattan. We usually pick up our daughters by 6:30pm but the 30 minutes buffer is nice so we do not to feel stressed out when we encounter traffic on the way home.

Esthetics: KinderCare was very nice esthetically; our location resembled a cute little schoolhouse…read morewith clean grounds, clean interior (you don't smell any odor of poop or bleach... like some places I've toured), and definitely bright and airy. Everything I was looking for of the ideal poster image daycare. Both classrooms (1s and 2s); large & spacious, with sections for play, reading , lunch/craft table, and diaper changes/toileting; every child had there own cubby area w/ coat hook and bin (that have their facial picture and their names - cute touch!). Price Tag: Ideal = costly. The school tuition is expensive, however there are two perks; tuition includes blankets and all meals. You supply the typical stuff -- diapers and wipes (ointment, etc). There are additional classes called Learning Adventures (offered for an additional fee $50 per child), I signed my kids up for Music, which in my opinion was a waste of money. My children never hymned or sung the songs they learned at home. At the school they attend now, they do. The teachers there all seemed very nice and pleasant. Class size moderate 2:10 (varies each day). Staff: Stacey DeMarco, the school's director is very nice, however, you will not be dealing with her most of the time. It will be either Kristin, whom is the Asst Director and/or Megan, renamed the Program Specialist -- those two were not always the most personable or easy to talk to. In my opinion, that can make or break a school, and it definitely played a part with me removing my kids. Credentials: The school was in the final stages of becoming NAEYC accredited, which by now they are. However, the overall education factor wasn't there for me. I was looking for more of a preschool setting, with curriculum and pre-K preparation. It appeared to be more Playtime oriented, 1 and 2 year olds play, yes, but not all day, that didn't sit well with me. Other Stuff: There is definitely a nice diversified mix of kids. However, some of those kids displayed signs of biting, and also very sickly. My children were getting sick very frequently at this school; the policy they adhere to is the State's policy, so only if the child(ren) are feverish, has diarrhea, and/or vomiting -- will the children's parents be called to pick up a child. My daughter was sick and no one ever called me to tell me she was or appeared to be ill (i.e. watery eyes, runny nose, looked pail -- a teacher, and one who is a mother, should definitely be able to pick up on those signs). When a parent calls and everything is always fine or great, that raises an eyebrow for me, especially when its week one and two, and this is their first time going to school.
