My husband and I moved to Midland Park in August of last year while I was still early in my…read morepregnancy. Like any new parents, we were freaking out about who would watch our new little bundle of joy while we had to go to work. We started searching in our area and surrounding areas for the perfect place, but were very unsuccessful. The places we saw just didn't make us feel comfortable leaving our baby for hours each day. We began to see signs for a new daycare opening and decided to check it out at the open house. We went on a rainy Saturday and completely fell in love. Now at this point we had already had our baby, so we were even picker with our search then we had been when I was pregnant. When we first walked through the doors of the daycare we both just knew this was the place for our little girl. We immediately meet the owner Craig who was beyond amazing. He walked us through the entire facility explaining every single detail. He showed us all the security systems in place (even though the neighborhood doesn't call for it) he has top of the line everything. He showed us the amazing cameras to watch your baby on all day!!! As a parent you know this is such a blessing. I didn't see that in any other places in the area. Everything in the facility was kept immaculate. Now I know the place was new so that doesn't seem so amazing, but the organization of papers, documents, toys, child bins and everything your baby could ever need was completely impressive. The other places I saw that were around in the area for a while didn't seem to have any type of organization that could even compare. One place we saw the infant care room doubled as a wreck room. My only concern after seeing the facility was that it was new which made me think the owners would be new to the business, but yet again any concerns we had vanished after hearing Craig and his wife have been in the business for 20 plus years. My husband and I decided right then and there this was without a doubt the place for our daughter. We wanted to sign up on the spot, but Craig encouraged us to go home and take our time and call him when we were ready. He never once pushed us to make a decision like all of the other places. We went home and filled our papers out right away! Now about one month after her first day we couldn't be happier. There are not even words to describe how much we love this facility. The teachers are all absolutely amazing! They keep you completely informed on every detail. There is never a second that someone isn't available to let you know exactly what is going on. On top of that, when you call they never make you feel crazy for calling. They also put your mind at complete ease. Also keep in mind you can watch those magical cameras anytime you want!!! Don't worry about the security of the cameras; you get your own private log in supplied to you. Every day when my husband and I come to pick up our baby she is always all smiles and laughs. She responds so well to all of her care givers there. During the day they keep her plenty occupied with all their toys, swings and bouncer options. They are constantly stimulating her and encouraging wonderful development. They work on tummy time, head strength and motion control. Needless to say our daughter is developing wonderfully with their guidance!! I failed to mention how sweet and lovely each teacher is as well. They are so friendly and make you feel beyond comfortable leaving your child with them all day. Anything you ask them to do they are right on it! There is never one second of worry in your day because you know you child is receiving impeccable care. We also receive text updates and adorable pictures throughout the day as well. To top it off, every single day we receive a report of feedings, changes, naps and everything that went on during the day. You never have to question anything because it is all on a paper that gets sent home with you. This is so awesome to make sure the baby is on track with everything. I truly can't say enough wonderful things about this daycare, the ladies that work there and the owners. I never write reviews, but as new parents finding this place was a true miracle and I sincerely believe all parents should know about it!

They were loving and caring, while also setting clear rules and boundaries for the kids to follow. Our daughter is one of the youngest in the class and we weren't sure if we would hold her back another year, but she learned SO much with their curriculum and was ready for kindergarten on time. She's still thriving in school, and I fully credit Tender Years for starting her off on the right path. As a first time mom, and our first experience with a school, my husband and I knew from the first tour Tender Years was going to be the best place for all of us. Our feelings were confirmed everyday. Mary Beth and Cathy made us feel like we were an extension of their family more than parents of a student. We were genuinely heartbroken on her last day, and still send her for alumni movie nights when possible! We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

We gave 25 days' notice to leave due to the situation, and they still seized our full security deposit without justification. Unreliable and outdated--would not recommend Edit: Now they're also lying in their response. I emailed requesting the refund they claim they would issue--no reply. It's been over a month, and we still haven't received anything. They could've easily handed us a check on our child's last day, but instead they chose silence. They cite CDC and NJ state guidelines, which is fine--but the issue is their inability to recognize or interpret symptoms correctly. That's where the real problem lies. They've been unreliable, outdated, and now dishonest. Sometimes it's better not to reply to a review when you know you're in the wrong, rather than confirming every doubt someone might have. Completely unprofessional and a place to avoid.

They are always ready and eager to answer questions and give you a progress report on your kid. One thing i like about Bell's that sets them apart from other day care is they use an outside vendor for lunch orders and you can send your own milk, diapers and water. This gives additional flexibility to choose the food you want your kids to have and milk, water, diapers as per your preference. This is an important thing for me as we have dietary restrictions and ability to choose what your kids use and consume is important to me. Their facility is good and spacious, they have good outdoor area for kids and they have water play thrice a week. My son is learning a lot of things at Bell's. I see him improving and learning every week. I highly recommend this place.

Communication with ownership was often difficult and, at times, felt defensive or dismissive. As a…read moreparent, feeling heard and supported is important, especially when entrusting someone with your child. Attempts to meet in person to discuss my child's transition out of the daycare (with two months' notice given which I have copies of via email) were declined, and communication became passive-aggressive over email. While concerns I raised were ultimately addressed, the interactions left me feeling uncomfortable rather than reassured. My son came home with other children's' diapers and clothes on many occasions. There was so much disorganization. The owner monitors the comments of parents on private Facebook groups and is retaliatory towards them when they post anything critical. You will see this on their responses to critical reviews online as well. She sent out weekly emails reprimanding all parents for the actions of a few. I paid for an extra hour of care each day and came on time, often earlier than I needed to, but I still received these emails reprimanding everyone in the class. There was noticeable staff turnover, including two directors within one year. One departing director communicated to parents via email that the work environment was challenging, which understandably raised concerns among families. Some teachers appeared inexperienced and were frequently on their phones during pickup times, often requiring me to get their attention. While the teachers were kind to my child and did a good job teaching him, this was concerning. Information shared in the app was occasionally inaccurate (for example, meals reported as fully eaten when food was returned mostly untouched). The daycare itself is very small and lacks enough of a large open play space which is concerning, especially in the winter time. Parents were not allowed to enter classrooms to drop off or pick up their children. A friend of mine in town shared with me that her twin girls were coming home with bite marks on them and the owner denied that anyone was biting them and refused to allow them to look at the camera to see what happened. The communication style and leadership environment significantly impacted our comfort level as parents and ultimately led to our decision to leave. I am sharing this review to provide honest, respectful feedback based on our experience. I have noticed that some critical reviews appear to have been removed in the past. My intention is not to discourage others, but to offer transparency and encourage continued improvement.

Our family was very disappointed with our experience at CAP. My child attended for just 5 months…read moreand during that time we discovered many issues with the school. 1. My child had a medical emergency while at the school and it was unclear how it was actually handled. We received different accounts from the director, area manager, the staff member who accompanied my child to the hospital, and the EMT's who responded to the event. When I asked to see the footage from the time period of the medical emergency I was denied the request. 2. Classes are often combined in the morning or after 4pm, even during disease outbreaks in those respective rooms. Many times I would pick up my child and my child would be in the room where there is a known presence of Croup or Hand Foot Mouth playing with the children from that room. This, to me, demonstrated a lack of genuine care for the well being of the children. 4. My child's teacher recorded and posted a video on the app of another child pushing and kicking my child. My child was kicked 4 or more times and there was no intervention by the teacher. When I addressed this with the director I was simply told this was normal behavior for the age group and if the teacher had deemed to to be excessive she would have addressed it. 5.While regular handwashing is talked about quite a bit during the tour, it was not happening. Many times I picked up my child either right after playtime/before a snack or meal time or during a diaper change and the children were never made to wash their hands. I addressed this observation once with the director and noticed no improvements. 6. My child came home twice with scratches on her body that the staff could never explain. One scratch spanned across her back. 7. My child came home many times with diaper rash, despite us providing 40% zinc oxide diaper cream. On one occasion, I picked my child up and was told that all 3 of the kids left in the room had diaper rash. I don't think it is a coincidence that the last 3 kids left in the room that day all had diaper rash.

I love that everyone knows all the kids' names regardless of the room. Throughout the day, we are kept informed of everything they do from diaper changes, to food, to naps, to activities. I love getting pictures and videos during the day, and being able to watch a live camera anytime I want (not that I need to, but it's fun to watch sometimes). They keep the children engaged all day. It's truly amazing. The teachers are all very nurturing and hands on. The facility is always clean and bright, with a great outdoor space in the back, which is perfect for water play in the summer. I would highly recommend Tutor Time to anyone. I am confident my children are safe and in a great learning environment. And, in the wake of Covid they have taken extreme caution to keep all the children and staff safe.
